My first name, though I considered it a curse for many years because, no one can say it or spell it right the first time and even long after they have known me still can't say it right. Oh, and it can not be shortened into a nick name of any kind......my name...Kyrsten, pronounced Kurs-ten.

Technically I'm Laurie Beth...not many of those. But I always just go by Laurie.

I never go by Laurie. Laurie-Ann is my name. I get annoyed when people call me Laurie. I will accept L.A. and even "Laur" but not Laurie. I think it's just the fact that they're shaving off a whole syllable and it's not worth it to butcher my name.

I had a friend named Kirsten, like Kirsten Dunst (pronounced Keersten) so I understand your pain.

*gets up and walks all the way to the front office*
me:"What do you want?"
Secretary:"Oh sorry, the OTHER Chris Walker"
me:*grumbles*
