Fid let out a grunt. "They have a funny way of showing it." Standing up, he brushed off his pants. "Is there anything you need? Ill try to sneak it out." Standing at the edge of the cave, he waited.

"No, I can manage. You've done more than enough for me." Maya told him with a light smile, making her way back up to her shelf. "Good night Fidelius. I hope they don't bother you too much this evening." She said with a slight bow of her head to him.

Fid nodded and made his way back to his tree. Hunkering down to continue his watch, he could only think of Maya and what he would have to do in order to protect her from the elves. Authion was becoming a pain and the elders were only slightly worse. They rarely showed care.

"Unfortunately, I'm not going to learn much in this cave, am I?" Maya asked as she rolled over to look down at her roommate. If she came up just to stay in another cave, there wasn't much point in what she was doing. She wanted to see and experience the surface. That, and she worried about what might happen if she continued to stay in the caves, where Lolth could most likely see her. "Should I?" She asked the bear once more, raising an eyebrow slightly at the thought of leaving.

The bear looked at her and grunted. Tilting his head in thought, he stood up in case she left. Fid would not like it if the white skinned elves hurt the female before him. He liked Fid, he was warming to the girl. And she gave him the heart meant for Fid. So, they were square and he would make sure she stayed safe.
((Fid would be emotion_omnomnom because he is Val, just elf form and he holds promises of safety...Val is me, just gaia form))

"You mean to come with me?" Maya asked as she slid off the shelf and pulled her cowl over her head. Frankly it was the bear's choice alone what he would do, and if he was going to come, Maya wouldn't and most likely couldn't do much to stop him anyway. Once she was ready, Maya made her way to the entrance of the cave, taking a moment to make sure it was safe outside before slipping out into the darkness.
While the Drow felt at home in the dark, the darkness of the surface was different. She didn't know what was out there yet, so she had to be careful as she silently walked through the forest. She could hear voices off in the distance, ones speaking a language she was not familiar with. Unfortunately, soon after she heard the voices, she heard screams, followed by spells being shouted in a language she could understand and knew very well. A band of Drow were attacking someone ahead, and Maya would be dammed if she sat back and did nothing now. "Let's hope I can kill all of them so no one knows I am here." She muttered to the bear before taking off towards the commotion.

The bear lumbered after the female, silently grumbling and prepared for a fight. He could smell the intruders and he could already taste the blood of the poor victims. Roaring, he broke out into the clearing, attacking wildly, but expertly.
Fid on the other hand was warned by the owl that a band of drow were defiantly attacking not soon after Fid settled down. No one could blame him though, because the owl's call was fresh. He appeared soon after the bear.

As soon as Maya had run into the clearing, she had to slide on her knees through the pools of blood to keep from losing her head. She had taken a split second to assess the situation. A normal attack party, two females and five males. Meaning four fighters and three magic casters. Maya wasn't sure how she'd take out three magic casters, two of them being the females, but she muttered a simple spell under her breath. It outlined all the Drow in blue flame. It didn't hurt, but it would make it easier for them to be seen.
Now was as good a time as any to attack, and as Maya slid towards one of the fighters, she snapped her scimitars out of their sheathes and sprung to her feet, blocking an attack meant for her shoulder. She threw the Drow off with ease, slashing upwards and cutting into his throat, not even pausing as the blood sprayed across her face, the Drow now moving onto the next of her kin.
It just so happened to be a female caster. Great.
"Maya Freana! I should've known!" The Drow hissed, sending a wall of flame towards Maya, trying to distract her while she worked on a spell to attack her mind.
"Laraere. I'll enjoy this." Maya said with a grin, ignoring the now splitting pain she felt in her head, muttering a counter spell as fast as she could, moving quickly to avoid the flames, heading for Laraere.

Fidelius and the bear headed towards the mages first. Roaring, the bear swatted one aside, ignoring the bolt sent at him. Taking the bolt in the shoulder, he headed on, not wounded very drastically. He swatted that mage aside, killing him. Fid worked on the female. He dodged one bolt and held a mind intrusion at bay. He had a strong will, using his rage as a good buffer.
He spun away as a bolt sizzled through the air behind him and threw a blade. It flew at the mage and pierced her heart before she could finish another, more deadlier spell. He then ducked as he heard the wiz of a sword come at his head. Turning, he stabbed upwards, under the ribs of a warrior. He called out to the bear. "Help the drow!"

"Leave the Drow! Kill the others first!" Maya snapped back, pulling out her whip as she began to speak in strange language that almost some how seemed guttural and graceful at the same time. It was her own native language, and she was attempting to summon any sort of magic she could, knowing her mental barriers were weakening from Laraere's stronger attack.
She focused on Laraere's mouth, and as soon as she saw her chance, she took it, cracking her whip for the Drow just as the end of the whip became a snake head. It latched onto Laraere's tongue and Maya grinned darkly as she ripped the whip back out, taking the tongue with it. Laraere kind of screamed and gurgled as blood began pouring from her mouth, but Maya wasted no time, already crossing the distance between them and letting her blades find Laraere's heart. "I'd of liked to watch you drown in your own blood, but your dark goddess might've found you had I allowed it. So be grateful for your swift death." She whispered in Laraere's ear before twisting her scimitars and letting the lifeless body fall from her blades.
Once Laraere was down, Maya finally took a moment to breathe, and only then noticed that an arrow had pierced her side. Almost as soon as she had noticed the arrow, she noticed the poison coursing through her veins. Maya sheathed her scimitars and fell to a knee, trying to discern what poison had been used to tip the arrow. Most likely it was nothing dangerous, they probably wanted to keep whomever they shot alive to torture later, which meant she was probably about to fall unconscious for several hours, or just become unable to move or speak for several hours. Either way, she could feel her heartbeat and breathing begin to slow as the poison took hold.

Fid roared as the mages went down. He let go of his peaceful self and in return used a violent part of him he kept hidden. He saw the arrow sticking out of Maya and it had enraged him. The bear, wise of the rage of an animal, went to pick up Maya. They both knew what poison was and he knew that Maya needed to be evacuated before she got hurt. Fid took care of their retreat. With only a couple of enemies waiting to get gutted, he was going to enjoy making them pay.
One sword was enough to kill the last dregs of the raiding party. As they simultaneously attacked, Fid had his sword up and deflecting a heavy hit. The weapon was knocked off to the side and deflected the second Drow's attack. Fid followed up with a kick to one gut and a shoulder ram to the others. He stood and, with a cough, he slit both throats.

Maya just stared ahead of her as the bear took her away. Her limbs felt heavy and weak. Her breathing had slowed to almost nothing along with her heartbeat. It was a paralyzing poison. Or at least that's what the Drow had come to considering what she was feeling now. She was vulnerable now, something that was deadly for her on the surface. And Maya was painfully aware of that. She was also aware that Fid's kin were probably coming to investigate the noise of the massacre.
Authion's troop had been sent to investigate the disruption. Though as they were heading there, a flash of white caught his eye, stopping the entire troop as he waited to see the flash again. Sure enough he did, and he took off, cutting off the bear from his path back to the cave. "A Drow..." He muttered with hate in his voice. "It looks like she's still alive, sir. Alive but injured...should we kill her?" One of the others asked. Authion shook his head slowly. "You two, return the bear to his cave. The rest of you go on ahead. I'll bring the creature back to the elders as our prisoner." He told them before muttering a spell to knock out the bear for a half an hour so he could take the Drow from him. Once the bear was down, everyone went off to do as instructed.
As Authion picked her up and began carrying her back to the city, Maya looked up at him with cold eyes. She hated being right.

Fid had cleaned up the area and made sure that whomever was attacked was alright. Satisfied that he did all he could, he told the attacked to head to the elves. With his swords back in their sheaths, he ran back to the cave to check on Maya. All he came to though, was elves and a sleeping bear. "What did you do to the bear?" He had an ordering tone behind the question. He would be told. He knew Maya was in trouble.

"Authion put him to sleep for a half an hour so we could move him safely. He had a Drow with him." One of the Elves told Fid. "Authion took the Drow back to the city. It was a female, alive. Don't know how one of those managed to get hurt and picked up by a bear, but we've got her now." The other said with a grin.
