Farensil had watched the spectacle, remaining still while gold Uridith sorted out her agitations. Apparently the little cult surrounding the devil egg had set off the sparkly gold egg at room's center. She felt the jolt of energy and absorbed it, feeling herself lift up with excitement, and was surprised when she found herself humming her little tune louder and with more gusto, and glanced down at the egg with a giggle as it wiggled under her palm. "Well, then, if you're sure." She chuckled. "I'll go see if it makes the others feel as upbeat as it does you, then." She patted the Fool again. "Don't upset your mother and go rolling off again, 'kay? I'll see if that one up there would like a song."
Farensil picked her way through the other eggs, taking note of the various eggs she hadn't yet attended, before she tapped lightly at Alumet's shoulder, then at Rhey's, as well, and smiled over at them. "You mind a neighbor?" She'd wait for a response, of course, but it was hardly unknown at this point that the gold egg was a bit of an attention-hunter. She gently lay her hand up against the Empress and sent her own dreams through the link there. It was but a few seconds before she spoke again. "The runaway thought you might like a song. I'm not much of a harper or a songstress of any sort, but..." Farensil closed her eyes and let music work its way into her hum, a chipper little tune meant mostly just to lift fallen spirits and bring a little excitement about.

A whole bunch of things happened at once and Ellain almost had trouble processing it all. When she had touched the Empress egg, the self-assured hatchling inside had responded, like a thought in her head that wasn't her own. It didn't hurt or overwhelm her; it just crept in and settled there like it belonged. When others came to join her, Ellain felt a spike of irritation before calming herself. Shush, they just wanted to meet it too. Even if she wished some of them had waited their turn!
She hadn't noticed Uridith's particular scruntiny until the gold shifted and Lestenna shouted to be still. And still Ellain stood, barely taking in a breath as the gold queen checked on her egg, then told her and the other candidates meeting the now distressed egg to stay there. A gold's voice, in her head! Ellain could have passed out from hearing the beautiful queen for the first time. Of course, she would help keep the growing hatchling comfortable.
She looked at the other Candidate's around the Empress and nodded quietly to them, particularly Alumet who seemed to be putting in a lot of effort. Ellain focused and thought to the egg too.
Be calm, be still... Even if others may take the spotlight from you for a short time, I am sure it will return to you. You have reassured us that all is well, now let us reassure you that it remains so. Ellain tried to fill the thought with soothing and gentle feelings, hoping that their combined efforts would please the egg.

Demanthra assured the moon egg that it was as important as her siblings. She knew that feeling, considering how many siblings she had herself. The older twins were already riders, making their marks in their own ways on the Weyr. She hoped to be as important as they were one day, but for now, she would just have to be patient and hope for the best. She winced slightly when she felt a bit of pain from the egg under her hand, it seemed the anxiety of its sibling was getting to it and she yelped a little at the sting from the egg. Luckily, Uridith made sure to take care of the problem, she had felt the anger of one of the other eggs as well. She noticed as the gold dragon carried off the red egg, it seemed it had had quite the attention on it. Then once things had calmed down, she moved again and patted the pink egg.
You are a beautiful egg and see, you have people coming to see you. I have to go for now, but you seem to be in good hands. See you when you hatch, she soothed, before nodding to those around and stepping over to the Wheel of Fortune egg. Gently placing her hand on it, she waited to see what response she got.

Mallan didn't think the sitaon surrounding the devil egg was as amusing as the Death Egg thought it was. After all, every young person among the eggs was hoping to Impress one of them when the time came and being WANTED was something Mallan was desperate to feel, so no, not funny. He also knew about feeling alone though and silently urged the egg not to worry, they weren't alone, they had a mother, father, siblings, and of course all the candidates to meet when it cracked it's shell, no, never truly alone. He sighed, reluctant to move away.

The Moon Why hello there! The Moon Egg's earlier disappointment at perceived neglect was quick to wash away. This Egg was pretty, wasn't it? Wouldn't Fehral tell it of its beauty? Wouldn't Fehral sing is praises? But would Fehral love it even if inside was nothing but a tunnelsnake or a wher? Would Fehral love it if it turnd out to be nothing more than a nest of trundlebugs? Laugher seemed to ripple beneath Fehral's hand as the Moon was now enjoying itself. What does Fehral think is inside?
Gr'del did not miss Lestenna's look, but other than giving a small incline of his head, he said nothing. So far, none of the Candidates had done anything physically wrong -- while he hadn't been impressed with the gathering around the Devil, if they had spent any longer he would have gone in and scattered them himself. Uridith had decided to make a move first. While Luiciand had been touching an egg, it appeared as if the boy had done something amiss to warrant the gold dragon's reproach.
Hmph.
Do not crowd the eggs and remember to think happy or more positive thoughts. Do not linger where you are unwanted. Do not linger overly long even if you are. Let others have opportunities with each egg. The large brown dragon who was waiting just outside of the Hatching Sands let his words settle over all the Candidates. If there was a hint of a growl in the mental reproach, it couldn't be helped.
Gr'del gave Luiciand a stern look and gestured for the young man to approach. He didn't know what happened, but to see him apologizing and sputtering like a fool demanded some sort of explanation.
To E'ion, he added, "Go make sure any Candidates that are getting too cozy with the eggs move along, and any that have settled next to eggs, or sat down get up. If none are interested in other eggs, they can go sit quietly on the Stands. We don't need a repeat of earlier," he added. While he understood some Candidates might feel more or less welcome around certain eggs, they certainly didn't need others falling, tripping, sittng, or otherwise getting in the way.
If the eggs got overly stimulated, they might have to cut the whole affair short.
The Emperor The egg was feeling considerably better. It reached out to Dorianus, appreciative of the concern, but dismissive of it all the same. Fun had nothing to do with the affair. Are not its other siblings having fun, and yet the Emperor has allowed them their due. But it is not the fault of those so smitten -- perhaps they are simply not strong enough to stand up against its sway, or too blind to see the truth of the matter. What of Dorianus? Is he strong or will he too crumple under another's sway?
The Sun Egg Oh, there now, there now, no words are needed. This egg knows the truth of the matter, and Amila can settle here for a few minutes. You are good and kind and shouldn't let the another's sharpness upset you. You are meant to be here - think of all the fun you will have! Think of all the eggs you have not yet met. There is no need to be upset or distressed, but the Sun is here to cheer you.
The Emperor The egg gave a small flare of approval. While nothing can be done now, all will be sorted out in time, and The Emperor will not forget the days slights or the bad egg's provocation. Strength is something this egg has in droves -- is it something Karone possesses as well? When push comes to shove, and the great enemy returns, will Karone stand up for what is right, or will he crumble like others did so easily?
The Emperor When Lenix approached, the egg allowed its power to wash over the other, to push hard at the lad, to test the others mettle. If Lenix knows not who he is, then how shall anyone? Cast aside the mold you were placed in, and stand tall. Hold your head high, and speak with confidence. Do not hide from the world, but show it your fire, if indeed a fire might burn within. Stop hiding, and start living. Stand your ground, lest you be swept away by another's will.
The Moon The Moon didn't mind the attention. It was pleased that someone was there to talk to it, to give it attention, to find it so lovely. Don't stop with the compliments, now. What does its egg look like from out there? Is it the most beautiful, the most precious, the most wonderful? Instead of telling stories, which it finds tedious at the moment, the Moon would much rather be told of its beauty. Would Rham go to the ends of the earth for it? Would Rham fight for it above all else?
The Fool Oh there you are! Laughter seemed to bubble up through Rokar as the creature within finally took notice of the other. The Fool was having a grand old time of it, and would like Rokar to enjoy himself, too. Isn't the day exciting and grand? Why so serious? Whers are funny creatures, aren't they? To make up for its earlier neglect, the Fool would send a sharp sting of excitement and joy through to the other. Maybe they could dig out the egg and let it go rolling again?
The Sun Oooh, is this a game? The game certainly sounds like fun! Perhaps Daesilena would like to guess what might be hidden in this egg? And perhaps the Sun can try to guess what this girl is like! Purple hair? Golden skin? Sharp claws? Blue eyes? Spotted skin? Stripes? Oh, do tell The Sun if it's getting close!

Amila thought on the feelings of the Sun she noticed several moments, stroking the egg gently. Did it think so? She didn't know eggs well - not dragon eggs. They were very special, after all! She hoped it was okay then, to be just a little more -- herself and not try to avoid upsetting anyone, and decided it was okay to try being so again. She spent some time with the Sun, stroking it and thinking this over carefully before looking around. Finally, she decided to approach The Magician, stretching slightly to half-lie on the sands before she dared to touch it. The Sun was a sweet egg, it would be okay -- if she got scared she'd go back, and she smiled to the new egg warmly.
Did this egg know everyone was excited that it was there? Did it like warm hugs? Did it want to fly one day? To sing? To spend time with others? And did it know it was worthy of more attention? So many popular eggs, the ones with fewer attention needed some time too! And that included this little one! Hello!

Chayrel's brows knit with a touch of confusion, and perhaps a bit uncertainty. He wasn't sure how to respond to that comment. Was he fine? Should he not have expressed concern given the antics of the day? Already he felt the twinge of defensiveness rattle his spirit, and he quickly removed his hand. He was fine. Yes, sure, whatever.
A bit of shame crept over him. It would figure he would be going about this Touching thing all wrong. Still, he tried to shield his thoughts, so as not to upset or offend the Magician further.
Instead, he shifted away from the egg, and glanced around at the clutch. He took a few deep breaths, pushing down his uncertainty, trying to hide it and his defensiveness. Slowly, cautiously, he approached The High Priestess Egg, curious to know what this egg might be like. He wanted to think happier thoughts, but Chayrel had never been a particularly happy young man. The egg was a lovely color, and didn't seem to give much away. "Hello," he grunted, deciding that maybe a verbal greeting might be best. Maybe he'd have better luck with this one.
~ ~ ~ ~
Cahlusi's grin broadened as he stood beside the Wheel of Fortune Egg. He appreciated the egg's excitement. "Enjoying every bit of drama, eh?" Well, Cahlusi didn't entirely blame the egg for that. There was going to be all sorts of juicy gossip flying around the Candidate Barracks tonight, and he couldn't wait to talk to his sister about everything. "I think I'd best meet some of your siblings, but do enjoy the show, little egg." He all but cooed over the egg, before making his way over to way over to the Empress Egg.
It didn't matter to him what color dragon might reside in the egg -- though with how Uridith had responded Cahlusi felt confident that this egg was a she. A lovely egg, to be sure, of the most gorgeous golden hue. "I see you're making friends," he spoke to Alumet, before giving Ellain and any others around the egg a charming, easy-going smile. "Can't say I blame you. This one is perfectly stunning. I suspect the Harper's will write sonnets and stories about you someday," he cooed, letting his fingers delicately stroke the egg.
~ ~ ~ ~ Shinnikan felt the defiance, and though he arched a brow, his easy smile slid across his features. Apologies-- I did not mean to presume. The delight did take away some of the sting, but perhaps it was not his place to poke and pry into the affairs of dragonets. Giving the egg one last caress, the tall lad decided that it was time to move on.
He took a look around him, deciding where next to move. If he tried to spot a red-haired fellow, he would never admit such a thing. Instead, he tucked that secret back down, and made his way over to the The Judgement Egg. Hello there, he greeted with his usual good nature. What a fine color you are! The color of all the eggs were enchanting, but this one was quite striking with its deep saturation.
