Sitting in the Diviner Classroom, her eyes closed, and her hands folded in front of her, a small smile on her lips, some might think that Lelyna Thaniels was asleep in her seat whist waiting for the class to begin. This was far from the truth. Although, she was dreaming, in a way, it wasn’t REM sleep she experiencing, more like day dreams. As she sat there, in the nearly empty classroom, she revisited her memories from the day before.

She and Mikhail had spent the whole day lounging and enjoying one another’s company. Mikhail read books to her and told her some of his own stories while she'd laid curled against him, warm and content. They’d snacked on stolen morsels from the kitchen and sipped their tea while they chatted and reminisced about the festival and how much fun they'd had experiencing it together. They'd eventually taken a nap, cuddled close, arms wrapped around one another. Turly, it had been the prefect way to end the winter break.

Once it’d gotten late enough, Mikhail had escorted her back to her room - she would have liked to have stayed with him, but girls weren't allowed in the boy's dorm in the first place, so she could hardly stay the night. Back at her room, Mikhail had taken the time to build up a nice, robust fire for her and make sure that the room was warm before he’d tucked her into bed for the night. Nestled in her warm bed, with Mikhail’s lingering kisses on her lips, she’d slept soundly and dreamt of him. Honestly, she couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.

Now, she smiled to herself. Mikhail had picked her up this morning and escorted her to breakfast. After dining together, he’d brought her to class, taking care to take her all the way to her seat before kissing her lips lovingly before he left to go to his own class. He’d asked her to wait for him after class, so he could spend more time with her afterward. He was such a sweetheart, so thoughtful and kind. It was a shame he didn’t open himself up to more people…

Rick had been so engrossed in his book that he'd barely noticed the pair enter, Branwen of course was keeping herself occupied, which was why the male hadn't reacted to any sounds of movement - for a little creature, the Raven could be quite noisy at times - At that moment of course, Bran had found a tassel on one of the books and was proceeding to peck at it, edging the book across the desk before grumbling as Rick subconsciously extended a hand to stop it falling to the floor.

"Nit-Twit." Cursing the male for stopping her antics, Branwen pecked at the male's retreating hand before turning to watch as Mikhail made his way past after seeing Lelyna to her seat. "Crark." Obviously just a noise, Branwen tilted her head, watching as the male excused himself before looking to the female whom he'd left behind.

Casting one final glance towards Patrick, she hopped to the edge of the desk and lifted into the air, leaving a stray feather in her wake as she fluttered across to where the female had sat before tilting her head. She'd seen Lelyna before, but now close enough, Bran could tell there was something different about her.

Once again, Branwen was never quiet, so as she took to the air and fluttered across the classroom, Rick would lift his gaze from the page, catching sight of Mikhail leaving the room before turning to see exactly where the Raven had disappeared to... "Oh, Good morning," feeling a little embarrassed about seemingly ignoring the pair, Rick scratched the back of his head before turning to face her, "I didn't hear you come in..."

"Asleep." Bran glanced back towards Rick as though to draw his attention to the fact she might not respond, then turned back to Lelyna, hopping up onto her wrist before hopping down into the gap created by her folded hands,

"Well, if she's asleep, then leave her alone," Rick would smile, suspecting that the female was in fact just taking the time to enjoy the tranquility of the space before the other students began to arrive. "Come on Silly Bird," Rising from his seat, he would make his way over, hoping to collect the Raven before she caused any trouble.

Lost in her thoughts and memories, Lelyna was a bit amused when she heard Patrick utter a friendly ‘Good Morning’, followed by the fluttering of wings coming closer to her. Her first thought was Brageet, Gannon’s lovely snow owl. But given the sound and the speed of which the bird flapped, she knew it was a smaller variety of bird. Patrick’s lovely white Raven, Branwen come to mind next. The raven’s simple word, ‘Asleep’, made her smile a bit to herself. Yes, it must look as if she were lightly dozing…

To her amusement, she felt Bran hop onto her wrist before hopping down into the little space between her arms and her chest. “Good Morning, Branwen…” She said with a smile, tilting her head down toward the bird, her eyes still closed. “Thank you for coming to check on me.” Opening her hands, she silently offered to caress Bran’s feathers if the raven so desired.

Tilting her head to the side, she addressed Patrick next. “Good Morning to you as well, Patrick. Did you enjoy the winter break and the festival?” Patrick was one of her classmates that she didn’t know too well, but not because she didn’t want to. He seemed like the more private type, and Lelyna, not one to pry, didn’t like to pressure anyone into conversing with her.

"Morning!" Not pondering for a second how the female might just know her name, the Raven would follow her greeting with a 'Crark' before hopping into one of the Lelyna's open palms and settling down. "Soft..." she fluffed herself up as though preparing to roost for the night before casting a beady eye towards Rick as he advanced,

Folding his arms across his chest at Branwen's antics, Patrick would roll his eyes and grin, watching as she got herself comfortable in Lelyna's hands before lifting his gaze to the female's face - it understandably felt a little strange to be speaking to someone who sat with their eyes closed, but Rick knew her reasons and didn't question it - after all, when his Grandfa used to perform readings back home, he would always close his eyes as it helped him concentrate.

"Good Morning, Lelyna," he would grin, hoping the positive energy he was sending out would be received in some way, "I had a wonderful time, met so many new acquaintances and, well, I was certainly busy!" He'd seen Festivals before, but this one had felt quite different and it was definitely something he wanted to attend again. In regards to his little Interaction with Willow in the library, that was another experience altogether, but he hoped they would meet up again soon.

"Imaginary..." Branwen mumbled, thoroughly enjoying the attention she was receiving should Lelyna be petting her at the time, "...Madness" In regards to those 'imagined' - Bran hadn't actually seen the Faerie that Rick had initially interacted with and therefore believed her friend was just being 'Silly.'

Rick of course didn't find her words very amusing, but rather than dwelling on what the Raven had said, he chose to keep the subject on track and return the question, "What about yourself? I trust you enjoyed the opportunity to relax?"

Feeling Branwen hop into her hand, Lelyna smiled. Gently holding the bird, she gently stroked her lovely feathers, taking care to have a light, soothing touch. She knew how fragile birds could be and she didn’t want to hurt the lovely creature.

She laughed lightly at Patrick’s words and Branwen’s replies. “Well, it certainly sounds like you had fun. I’m glad.” Although she was curious as to why Branwen would think that Patrick’s friends had been imaginary. Perhaps he’d had an encounter with a fae? Silme did seem to be busy..

“Oh, I had a lovely time. Mikhail took me on the first day. It was chilly, but so much fun.” Remembering the food and the music, she smiled. “Because of my eyes, I haven’t been to a festival for some time…It was nice to listen to the music and enjoy all the treats. Although, I had to miss the second day, I was a bit worn out after walking around so much. But Mikhail didn’t seem to mind.” She was grateful to him, he was so thoughtful and considerate of her.

“Are you looking forward to the new semester?” She wondered if, like herself, he was due to graduate at the end of the semester. Lelyan didn’t really know what she would do with herself once she was finished with her studies, but one thing was for sure – she and Mikhail would be together.

Rick would lean lightly against the desk as he listened to Lelyna's experiences during the holiday - it was nice that Mikhail had taken her out as with her disability, the chances of her perhaps making it to the festival alone would have reduced drastically, "I'm not surprised," he smiled in reaction to her being quite tired following the first day, "I have to admit, my first day was quite eventful, so I decided to just sit and watch on my second day, never got back to Rosalyn's stall sadly," he had dropped by for cookies on the first day, meeting up with a few other students at the time before taking a wander around the other stalls - that was when he'd met the fae, but after an altercation with Bran who had confused the situation, sadly he lost sight of the creature and feared it might have scared her away...

He would watch Branwen for a moment, rolling his eyes once again as the White Raven seemed so comfortable in Lelyna's hands that she'd almost practically fallen asleep - he was tempted to make a comment, but as the female offered another question, he smiled and happily obliged,

"I must admit, I haven't really given it any thought," Already classed as an A, Rick was coming to the end of his second year - which was the minimum requirement, "It still seems a little early to go back home, y'know?" his right hand would lift to his chin in thought and Rick would take a moment to think before shrugging with a grin, "I could always stay on, maybe go for the Masters program," after all, he still had a lot to learn and his family - although constantly on the move - wouldn't necessarily complain if he took another year of education, "What about yourself?" He would cast a brief glance over his shoulder at this point, noting that their tutor had still yet to arrive, but then he would look back to Lelyna, reaching out to lightly poke Branwen who had by now, rolled over in the female's hands, her scaly black legs now visible beneath her black feathers.

At the male's touch, Bran would open a beady eye, rolling back onto her feet and extending her neck to peck at the male's intruding finger before turning back to Lelyna and bowing her head respectfully. She would then turn, hopping up onto the female's wrist and taking a brief flight back towards Rick's shoulder where she would take a perch.

Yesterday
Fiona had spent her day at the festival with her new friend Tess, eventually the crowds had cleared for them to get around and explore shops before finally saying their farewells.

Today
The pale girl hurried down the Academy's halls as she finally found her class, a panicked expression on her face shifting with a glimmer of joy in her eye. "F-finally..!" She gasped as she halted to catch her breath. It wasn't too far a run, but Fii was in no shape to hurry anywhere really. Rather than hurry in to get a seat, she waited until her breathing returned to normal.

After a minute, Fiona cautiously opened the classroom door and poked her head through the gap. At a quick glance, she'd spotted only two others present in the room. She uttered with her usual quiet, nervous tone. "U-um... Is this the class for Diviners..? I'm sorry to bother you..." She tried to smile confidently, but the stutter easily dismissed any confidence she tried to display.

Gannon and Elohari would make their journey to Elohari's classroom quickly after their small meeting in the courtyard. The two would speak of Gannons issues with the possible mating of Rey and.... well Elohari couldn't quite remember the women's name... had they introduced her? She would nod along, offering small pieces, but she was more interested currently in remembering the poor women's name. Such an awful thing to forget.

The twos journey would end near her doorstep, however, stopped short as a student had just sorted to enter, Elohari would glance to Gannon, unsure of how to end their goodbyes. Just a day into their relationship boundaries hadn't quite been placed... but they were there. She didn't want to pry anything, especially on Gannon. Instead, Elohari would offer a gentle smile, thanking him for his escort. Her hand that had been wrapped around his bicep as he guided them through the hallways would slide down and give the male a small grip on his hand. "Do come find me when you are free." She spoke sweetly, eyes moving to stare into Gannons. She didn't wish to force anything on him, both were adults and needed things to be done at work and elsewhere. Spending constant time together wasn't the plan, but one would hope. Perhaps once the day was done he'd visit, if not, Elohari wouldn't worry.

She'd give a small nod before slowly releasing herself from his grip, pushing past the door and inviting the new student in "Indeed it is, Miss Perianne, is it not?" Elohari would question, blackened hand moving to push off her velvet hood, it falling softly against the cloak. "I welcome you," Her attention drew to the classroom as she moved to the podium, removing her cloak along the way, revealing a thick yet flowing white gown, trimmed with gold. Her sleeves were long and flowing, a small trimmed gold cutout for her arms to place, preventing any issues with the use of her hands. Elohari would sort out her cloak before letting a small sigh pass her lips "I do offer my apologies for my tardiness.... it seems the chill Eoana has isn't true to my nature... the cold is bitter but still lovely." Her voice slow, slightly low but enough for everyone to here.

"But enough of that matter, I do hope everyone enjoyed the festival, as I much have." She would grip her hands at her hips, fingers locking within another. "It was my first festival here, or anywhere for a fact." She spoke aloud "You all have strange habits, yes, but these celebrations are quite magnificent and I do look forward to many more." Her hands would trail along the wooded podium, eyes moving to see everyone that thus far had come into the classroom.

"We had spoken of defining a Diviner... Most would agree it is an interpretation, no defining answer." A single finger would point upwards to the ceiling, drawing a point "But there is one you can define.... what your Raiment is." She would smile sweetly at everyone "Each has their own, each unique..... but can anyone tell me what all have in common?" Elohari would question, big hazel eyes moving through the room.

Enters in the new day...

As the sounds of the light winds blew around him, Kayl pulled his cloak in tight as he slowly made his way through the halls. His eyes were narrowed and seemingly engaged even though he was alone and had nothing before him. Aggravated, and a bit exhausted, Kayl finally made his way to the Diviner Classroom, and opened the door to enter. Kayl had been a bit late to class this morning, and so after entering the classroom, Kayl bowed apologetically towards the teacher, and without saying a word, he stepped to the back of the room, and quietly took a seat. This was a bit off for Kayl. These past days, he would often sit with Lelyna and others, welcoming the day and greeting their teacher with enthusiasm. But this morning, it was different. Although he was still respectful, he didn't say a word to anyone, and instead took a seat at the back of the class by himself, his eyes a bit dull and red from irritation and a lack of sleep. As he removed his cloak and sat down, Kayl's eyes subconsciously subverted from the class, and bore down upon the desk in front of him with tired depression filling their gaze. Although it was unintentional, the words of their teacher once she started again kind of blurred into the background, and Kayl found himself leaning against one of his hands as he placed his elbow upon the desk in unrest.

Like many, Patrick didn’t seem to know what to do with himself after graduation. The Academy was such a lovely haven, a place of learning and growth that it seemed hard imagining what they would do once they left the safety and warmth of these walls. But all chapters come to an end and new ones begin again. This chapter of their youth would soon conclude only to make way for another.

Smiling a bit, she sighed. “I had thought of the graduate program myself. I would love to stay here at the Academy for as long as can, but there are other…factors in my life that might change my course.” Lelyna said, thinking of her relationship with Mikhail. Feeling Branwen hop up and out of her hand, she chuckled a little. “You are more than welcome to come to me for more pets in the future, Branwen…you are lovely company.”

Lelyna couldn’t say much more as another student come into the class. Out of breath, and from the sound of it, a bit frazzled, Lelyna turned her head slightly to listen to the girl’s question. Before anyone could answer however, their Professor entered the room and confirmed that she was in the right class. As Patrick took his seat, Lelyna had to wonder what was keeping Kayl. He was usually in class by now…

Turning toward the front of the class, Lelyna listened to Elohari speak, only to hear the door swing open again. Brows furrowed, she heard the shifting footsteps and was reminded of Kayl’s familiar gate. When the student didn’t say anything, she frowned. Was it Kayl? Was he alright? She heard him take a seat at the back of the class, which was very unlike him, and from there, he was silent. He hadn’t said a word. Sighing lightly, she turned her attention back toward the front of the class, but she couldn’t help but worry that something was wrong with her friend.

Elohari’s question left a lot to ponder. Only one answer came to mind and when no one else answered, Lelyna raised her hand before she spoke. “I don’t know if this is what you might have meant Professor, but from what I can tell…all of our powers have a very spiritual quality to them. By that I mean, that our powers are deeply connected to our hearts and our emotions. In my mind, that it what we all have in common, that connection.” Lelyna knew that with a question like that there was no real ‘wrong’ answer, but still, she was curious to know if that had been the answer Elohari had been looking for.

"Lovely." Bran Mimicked, the Raven had a very good memory and decided that perhaps if Rick was busy or needed some alone time, she might just seek out the female and keep her company,

With the class slowly starting to fill up - and as Elohari made her appearance, Rick felt it was best to round up his conversation and return to his seat. It had been nice talking with Lelyna, but he didn't want to be out of place when the lesson started. As he walked, Branwen would turn on his shoulder to look back as though considering spending the lesson with Lelyna, but as Rick reached his seat, she would hop down onto the desk infront of him and turn her attention towards the front of the class - She knew to be reasonably quiet so not to draw the male's attention from what he was trying to learn in class.

He of course would have happily enlightened the new face to her location as she inquired about the room being that of the Diviner's Class, but their tutor beat him to it - Rick didn't mind though, who best to answer than the Tutor herself?

In regards to Kayl, the poor guy looked absolutely exhausted and Rick couldn't help but wonder why he'd chosen to sit away from Lelyna that morning - the two of which were often seen together, but then again, if Rick himself were feeling under the weather - or sleep deprived for that matter, he would most likely distance himself all the same

Rick's attention would return to the front of the class as Elohari started the lesson, he took a moment to mull over her question - the common thing was perhaps that they were all Diviners, but at the same time, he had to think there might just be something else?

Fiona couldn't help but flinch as the sudden voice of a woman, who it's safe to assume is the professor, caught her off guard, hurrying into the room so she didn't block it from her or any later students. "Y-yes! T-thank you miss, I'll be sure to remember from now on..!" Fii let out a sigh of relief before she went to find a seat. She ended up sitting on one of the middle row seats, closest to the door so as to avoid standing out any more than she may already have.

Now having her chance to calm, she ran a hand through her hair in an attempt to straighten any loose ends that may have sprung up. She had already begun to split her focus from listening to the woman up front to observing the others present in the room... Her eye caught a glance one of the males. Well, more specifically, his bird. I wonder if they are difficult to take care of... The brunette thought to herself.

Any process towards daydreaming about a potential pet was halted by the professors question. What we have in common..? I mean... There was a reason we were all classed as "diviner..." U-ugh, what was it..? Her mind drew blanks. up until a voice spoke up. The only other girl, well, besides the professor of course, in the classroom... Whose answer made sense to Fii at least. That would be how she viewed her own power anyway. Rather than even consider saying anything though, Fii felt more comfortable with just listening to the other people for now. Or, preferably, always just listen.

As she allowed the students to ponder, her eyes would wander to a soul, unlike the rest. Kayl had come in, quite yes, but his presence was a powerful one. Elohari furrowed her brow slightly, studying his character. Was he ill? No, the sombre that radiated off him proved otherwise. She would subconsciously bite the inside of her cheek. Should she proceed on, or perhaps question Kayl? Should she perhaps start the conversation back at him, attempt to draw him into the conversation? Seeing into the future only allowed one future, not many. As she pondered, Lelyna would answer.

Parting her lips, giving a small grin her face turned toward the lady. Elohari's long hair was braided in the back, but a few strands would fall against her cheeks, like wisps. A hand trailed up to push the strands back, eyes moving to the class as she spoke, comprehending the crowd in a sense. It seemed everyone was either in neutral or agreeance to her words. Elohari would glance toward Kayl for a moment more, suppose leaving him alone should do?

"Ah yes... Spirituality." Elohari brought them in "Your words are very well put... We connect on another... realm compared to others.." she was seen taking small steps to the side of her podium "We connect within ourselves, with others, with life... These connect are something unique to solely Diviners." Elohari smiled warmly "Others have connection yes, but not on the realm we do." A hand moved to her stomach to which it remained "But what allows us this connection? How do you achieve it?" Her head turned to the left, eyeing everyone.

"Personally.... my connection stems from within... becoming comfortable with oneself, understanding, accepting.." she took a slow breath in "Being one... true, has allowed my raiment to flourish and blossom." Elohari allowed the class to understand her ramble if they were able.

"Sire Lockheart, what do you believe grounds you? Makes you a Diviner... your connection?" Elohari inquired with the tilt of her head.

Slowly rubbing his forehead with a slightly pained expression in his face. Kayl tried to center his thoughts as the exhaustion set in once more. It wasn't that he wasn't rested, his day was like any other, and he had gone to bed early enough even after being dragged by Juliana around the festival grounds. As he rubbed his forehead, Kayl's eyes shut slowly as a dark echoing verse continued to replay in his mind. A small well of anger and sadness filled him somewhat, as his father's words continued to plague him. 'Damned nightmare...' Kayl thought in slight anguish as he tried to keep his eyes from welling up as the images continue to fill his head.

'What is it I keep seeing?...' he thought to himself as he envisioned his father holding him close in the dream. This was the father he remembered, gentle, caring, always a proud and doting father. But as this image of his father changes to one with a dark, desperate expression as he gave an order to kill. Kayl's heart skipped a beat. He had never heard his father utter such words, even when servants or guardsmen serving under the Royal Court Mages of Valor made mistakes, or needed discipline. Never had his father seemed so scary, or cruel. What was worse, is that his dream always cut out abruptly before hearing anything else. Sure, his dream was slowly showing him more and more of that dreary night, but not fast enough for him to figure out why he had these dreams. Each and every time the nightmare struck, Kayl's mind raced as his mind tried to piece together all of the pieces present. Who was there before, that now wasn't... But, that couldn't be right, right? It was this very thing that tormented him, a thing that he couldn't possible except, that he wouldn't except. There had to be more, there had to be a reason...

It was in the middle of these thoughts that a familiar voice rang out as Lelyna answered Elohari's earlier query. His attention was drawn in that moment, as Lelyna spoke of how she viewed a Diviner. As she spoke of a spiritual connection, not just in their raiments, but in themselves. Kayl looked up through somewhat narrowed eyes. With his deep crimson gaze piercing through the classroom, looking from Lelyna to the others as the lesson continued on. Although he understood what Lelyna was trying to convey, Kayl had reservations about it. It wasn't that he disagreed with her statements, in fact with how she tried to explain that their raiments may be connected directly to their emotions, Kayl couldn't help but feel this might have been true. For him it had to be true, especially since he was consistently flooded with emotions at times when even he didn't quite understand why he was feeling them. What Kayl couldn't help but wonder, was how he could have such a connection, when he didn't believe he that he completely understood or even comprehended anything about his own Raiment.

With this thought in mind, Kayl sat up a bit more, and tried to clear his mind of all his other frustrations. When Elohari spoke once more, Kayl looked in her direction and listened as he usually did, and as she conveyed her lesson, her words. At first, Elohari seemed to agree with and reiterate some of Lelyna's thoughts. But as she went on, her words took it a step further as she started to emphasize not only a deep connection within oneself, but to others, to life in and of itself, and these words reflected some on Kayl. Leaning forward on his elbows somewhat, his tired eyes closed once more as he brought his hands up in front of his chin, and he leaned against them somewhat. As he thought about what they were trying to portray, he started to think about the implications surrounding it, trying to understand it, and trying to make sense of it. Kayl wasn't sure why this was so, but something... something about the thought of being connected, not just in heart and soul, not just in mind and spirit, but to each other... something about that thought resonated deeper then he would have expected, it resonated with him deeper then he could have imagined. Although this didn't alleviate the frustrations that he was still feeling over his nightmare, or even over his Raiment, it did help to clear his mind a bit. As Elohari continued the lesson, Kayl stayed silent in the back of the class, listening as usual to his teachers words. When another student was called upon to speak, Kayl opened his eyes once more, and looked over in the direction of the student. Although he was tired, and likely visually exhausted. Kayl didn't want to be rude and tried his best to keep his attention on the class, rather then his own thoughts...

Rick hadn't expected the question to fall to him first and in reaction to that, he had to take a moment to think, What Grounded him? When he was wound up, he would often pick up his violin and play, sometimes he would sing - belting his heart out as he played and in turn, expelling any stresses that left him up tight; other times he would just pluck the strings... It distracted him from his troubles that was for sure and he guessed that could be grounding, but he also pondered if there might be other ways?

When Branwen was up for it, Rick would find himself somewhere safe and peaceful to sit - usually against a tree, in a field, or on the shoreline - and with her aid, he would take wing, viewing the world through her eyes as she soared high above the clouds. Being up there, disconnected from the world was very peaceful, but at the same time, it left him defenseless so he had to maintain some form of awareness which never fully allowed him to relax...

"What grounds me?" he thought again, "I guess Nature, perhaps?" he would close his eyes for a brief moment, reopening them as he continued speaking, "Back with my family, I'd often take walks away from the noise, just breathe in the world around me and find myself somewhere quiet to sit," His 'Connection' however was something quite different in his mind, as a Diviner, he felt his connection was spiritual, he could see spirits and converse with them - and it always helped him feel better when he was able to help them with their problems, but he had learnt to maintain an air of ignorance for if too many, or the wrong kind realised he could see them, they could advance - seeking out his help and overwhelming him...

"...Twit." Branwen looked up at the male as he seemed to drift out, not necessarily to sleep - his eyes were open and lifted skyward in thought... Growing impatient waiting for his answer, she gave him a light peck on the hand before hopping back as the male reacted.

Realising he'd fallen silent whilst he'd been thinking, Rick gave a weak chuckle, scratching the back of his head with his 'pecked' hand before speaking again, "It's gotta be nature," he nodded, "I've always been able to relax and center myself, surrounded by green and scents, the birds," Branwen would tilt her head - her own voice wasn't necessarily the most pleasant, so she guessed he was referring to the song birds, but she could guess what he meant - whether or not it was the correct answer was beyond her, but she would look to his tutor as Rick nodded, content with his reply.
