Mikhail led her to their usual spot, their usual desks, much to Lelyna’s delight – familiarity was best for her, given her blindness. Settling in her seat, she listened to their Professor – a substitute to her surprise – explain their assignment. Frowning a little she wondered how she was supposed to complete her assignment when Mikhail would have to write his own. Perhaps she could speak it out loud to herself and then transfer the memory to the teacher? That seemed like a good idea. But before Lelyna could begin to think of how music could change someone’s life she heard tapping upon a nearby desk.
Lelyna’s sensitive ears immediately picked up on the sound, which was all too familiar. She was immediately reminded of her childhood friend, a girl by the name of Eyrli, who had been born without a voice. She and Lelyna had communicated through rough sign language as children before Lelyna had discovered her raiment. After that, Lelyna had used her raiment to communicate on a different level with Eryli…but then tragedy had struck – Lelyna had over used her power, pushing herself too far, and as a result, she’d gone blind.
After that, communicating with her friend had been a challenge. But they hadn’t given up. No, they’d developed their own way of speaking to one another – tapping. It had taken them a good amount of time to perfect, but eventually, they’d developed a system of tapping that allowed them to speak directly to one another, with no one any the wiser.
Smiling wide, Lelyna dared to hope that her friend had come to the Academy at last. Raising her finger, she tapped back, ‘Eryli? Is that you?’ When she received an excited tap of acknowledgement back, Lelyna couldn’t help but gasp out loud in joy, a wide smile coming over her face. “Eryli!” Extending her hand toward the direction of the taps, she held her palm open, hoping her friend would take her hand.

Lelyna couldn’t have been happier to know that her dear friend had come to the Academy, and better yet, found her! A wide smile on her face, Lelyna hugged her friend tightly, so glad to have her back in her life. As they parted from their embrace, Lelyna smiled at Eyrli’s tapping. “Yes, it has been a long time…” Lifting her finger she tapped the desk again. ‘I’ve missed you, my friend.’
Lelyna could sense Mikhail’s eyes on her and his curiosity. Reaching for his hand with her free one, she grasped it lovingly. “Mikhail, I want you to meet Eyrli, my cherished childhood friend. Eyrli, this is my love, Mikhail.” Lelyna said with a big smile, grasping Mikhail’s hand in her own.
Knowing Eyrli would be curious about Mikhail, she tapped the desk, explaining a few things. ‘Mikhail is my love and also a Prince of Valor.’ She tapped, knowing Eyrli would be surprised by this. Turning her head toward Mikhail, she knew he’d be curious about the tapping. “My love, Eryli was born without a voice, and once I went blind, we found our own way of communicating…So we tap out our words.” She knew it sounded odd, but it was the truth.
“We like to think of it as our own secret language.” Lelyna said with a wide smile. ‘Our own secret way to communicate…I missed this…’ Lelyna tapped with a light laugh, knowing her friend would agree. “We should probably get to our assignment before the Professor gets irritated with us…” Lelyna whispered with a little mischievous smile, knowing they should have been working.

It seemed that there was another conversation moving along, but unlike Lerato who was much of a fussbucket, Caden was chill as long as they would still remember that they still had to finish the task within the required time limit. After all, with Eyril being the new student, those who were under the court mage's watch before still had to know her more. The musician sat down, looking at them with a gaze that was a sign that he was interested rather than aiming to ridicule. “Ah, so it seems that there's a couple among the students here. How lovely,” he commented. Oh, how the youth was so vibrant when it came down to that single emotion, though it was not all sunshine and rainbows. It was probably another reason why Lerato was taking a short break, to mend his own broken heart with the support of his family.
“I may like to know more about your love blossomed between you two, but alas, that can wait till we can possibly meet again after this class is done. My friend will definitely smack me on the head verbally for being a bit too lax on the task,” Caden rambled on. Oh, how much he wanted for his own curiosity to be sated, but he shouldn't forget why he was here in the first place.

Lelyna blushed and laughed at her friend’s teasing. This was what she missed – someone to tease her about her boyfriend and what they did in private. Yes, Lelyna had friends here, Willow, Kayl, a few others, but Eryli was a close friend, one that she told practically everything to. They might as well have been sisters – there were no secrets between them. Tapping on the desk, she grinned. ‘Why yes, he does have a giant king bed and we put it to very good use.’ Lelyna was practically giggling at the implications, knowing that Eryli would get a laugh out of it too.
Hearing their teacher’s words, Lelyna covered her mouth and blushed a little. She knew that being with Mikhail brought attention, but now it seemed like a complete stranger had taken notice as well. Hopefully nothing would come of it. “That might be nice, Professor.” Lelyna doubted that the substitute would remember to ask them about their relationship, but you never knew…
Hearing Eryli’s tapping, Lelyna was surprised by her offer to help. Nodding a little, she knew that Eryli wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. “That would be lovely, Eryli, thank you.” Feeling Eryli take a seat next to her, Lelyna smiled and waited for Eryli to get situated before she began to answer the Professor’s question for the assignment. Given the scratches of Mikhail’s quill, he was already hard at work. Wanting to be close to him, Lelyna rested her cheek against his shoulder as she dictated her assignment to Eryli, who was more than happy to write it all down for her.
By the time they were finished, class was nearly at an end. “Thank you for your help, Eryli. Mikhail usually helps me, but sometimes its hard when the assignment is due by the end of the lesson – I’m glad that he didn’t have to rush through his own essay in order to help me with mine.” She suspected that he appreciated it too.
'What are you doing after class? Do you have your dorm room yet?' She tapped, wondering what her friend had been up to, when she'd arrived, etc. It was so good to have her close, dear friend back!

Eryli spend the next while writing down her friends words on paper, being sure to tap whenever she needed to stop or catch up. Sometimes she'd take a glance over, unable to resisting smiling at the fact she and Lelyna are reunited after so long, and that the Diviner found somebody she seemed so happy with...
Upon finishing her friends paper, Eryli would stretch her arms up high and rise from her seat while Lelyna spoke. I imagine it would be stressful, having to do two assignments at once... She'd wonder... Though, he likely thinks the same way Eryli does... It doesn't matter if it meant helping somebody you cared deeply about.
Listening to Lelyna tap, the Elementor would toy with her long, white hair as she took a second to think... She wouldn't really having anything to do, having only recently moved. She'd tap back. "I only just got here, so I have no room yet. I have no idea what to do around here either."
Tapping again, Eryli would continue. "I would imagine you have a roommate already."

With Eryli’s help, Lelyna’s assignment was done in no time. Mikhail had finished a bit before Lelyna was done and had offered to help as well, but Lelyna had politely declined, knowing that he’d already worked so hard on his assignment. Besides, he deserved a little break. Once the ink was dry, Lelyna handed the parchment to Mikhail to hand in, along with his, when he went up to give them to the teacher.
Lelyna smiled at Eryli and shrugged a little. “Well, I would give you the tour but….” She teased, knowing that if Lelyna attempted to give her a tour then they’d both end up lost and that wouldn’t be ideal. “As for a roommate…I might be able to help with that.” Willow, her current roommate had talked about possibly leaving the Academy early, and thus, a vacancy would become available. Lelyna found it amusing that Eryli might be paired with the one person in the school that knew her best – herself.
“We can talk to Gannon and see about getting you a room assignment. In the meantime, I’m sure you can share my bed. We can cuddle like we used to.” Lelyna said with a small, happy giggle, remembering their little sleep overs as young girls when they’d share a bed and cuddled close at night.
With class dismissed, Mikhail helped her from her seat, offering her his arm as he led the way out of the classroom. Lelyna made sure that Eryli followed them – she didn’t want her long lost friend to feel left out after all. “Oh I’m so glad you’re here, Eryli…I cant wait to tell you all about the Academy.” And once the two girls made it back to her room, that is exactly what Lelyna did…

The conversation between the four of them was a nice one, but after a while, Lerato had to leave since he would head back to his office. He bid them farewell, but not without paying for the goods and even packing them into the bag for easier carrying. As he was venturing all the way back to the school, the taste of the fritters still enveloped his mouth, and it was a good thing. It reminded him on how his past love life had been, sour and bittersweet. But in the end, the pastry wouldn't be complete without it, and that was the same with life. That was something that he would write in his journal once his workload was accomplished for the day.

He commented to himself as he was practicing on yet another song in his clarinet. Lerato would be teaching the music lesson as usual because there was still no professor willing to take up the spot. The braid adorning his hair was cascading his shoulder like a small waterfall, and his eyes were clear with concentration. Right now, he was in a good mood today, being productive and all. So right now, all he could do was stay that way throughout the upcoming lesson.

Makoto had been walking throughout the school, giving himself a self-guided tour of the building after he had awakened from the previous day. After his rigorous morning of combing hair, showering, making sure he looked his best, the newest professor would offer a wave to some fellow students who had take the effort to greeting him. As he walked by, a potion was procured from his sleeve, a bright pink in color. Popping the cork off of the bottle, Makoto drank its contents before clearing his throat and humming to himself, his voice growing to something quite feminine that many colleagues and students had come to expect from his image thus far. Once he was pleased with the changes, the male would walk across the winding hallways while making a mental note to chart a map of this place sometime. It was absolutely massive!
He had been walking when all of a sudden the sound of a clarinet being played would grace itself to his attention. After a brief alteration to his path, the professor would follow the sound of the musical instrument being played. The sound of his footwear hitting the floor would go along to the rhythm of the song that was played. As luck would have it, he was brought directly in front of the practice hall. This was quite a ways away from his classroom but still a fairly nice place. After peeking his head inside of the room, Makoto would spot a man playing the clarinet inside. Smiling widely, he would gently step in after a few knocks on the door. "You're quite skilled on the clarinet." It was only then that Makoto realized that he probably could have been interrupting a professor's class as his smiled faltered for a moment. "Er, apologies for interrupting. I'm the newest teacher, Makoto Avirette. Sorry again, I was just passing by."
