Candidate Huarwar : Western : He/Him

The smile stayed as he felt Aelyx slip her hand into his, giving it a squeeze as the first egg hatched. His eyes watched the green as she moved and then a pair of golds had spilled onto the sands. The green seemed upset by this and Huarwar watched the small tantrum that ensued. Though as one of the golden twins squared off with the green he couldn't help but have a flash of Henwas bullying others just because he could.

He shook that thought from his head quickly instead focusing on watching all of the dragonets and doing his best to send think supportive thoughts to them. If he moved a bit more in from of Aelyx then he had been, it was an instinct to protect just in case the two came closer to the candidates and fought.

All of the dragonets were quite lovely, it didn't matter their hide color or if their hide had a sheen and shine to them. At least here they could all climb to heights and no one could keep them down by themselves. They were quite lucky for that.

Allamor

Once on the Sands, Allamor found Nikal and gave him a nudge. “Look lively! This is a big day!” He told the other boy.

It was indeed a lively start and Allamor was rooting for the little green over her gold sister. Go, little green go! He pouted a little in sympathy as she seemed to deflate. But then bit back a small “yay” as she moved upon realizing that it was at the gold. “I hope there isn’t much ichor drawn,” he said to Nikal, “the poor bonded ones would have lots of tending to do.”

Perhaps it was resting and saving its strength for its entrance, or perhaps it was only awaiting the perfect moment to make it, but it was just then that the Funfetti Egg cracked. It wasn't just any crack. It was a sharp crack, starting from a single line at the top and spreading slowly enough for the eye to follow into a veritable cradle of cracks around the bottom of the egg.

When the shell finally gave way and shattered, it was a blue who rose from the shards, unfurling his wings to dry. He knew what was taking place, and wasted no time taking proud, bold strides toward the green and gold who were tussling, his eyes whirling in bright blues and greens.

Cuzon: Western : Candidate

Cuzon had been very deeply asleep when the call came. He was far too comfortable in his dreams so it took several shakes from his fellow candidates before he even began to stir. Then it was a painful process of stumbling through changing constantly being jostled by his excited fellows.
Cuzon was excited too...No. Really he was. He just didn't show it with the same gumption as the others. He stifled another yawn as he wriggled his feet into worn sandles that accompanied a dozen other candidates before him onto the same sands. It was rather comforting to know their previous owner had likely impressed to be moved on. Maybe some of the luck would rub off on him.

Still he was one of the ones bringing up the rear of the pack. Once inside he edged to the side. Somewhere on the boarder of the boys and girls where the crown thinned and he was more easily able to see over people's heads to the eggs themselves without the faff of pushing though the crowd. That seemed like too much effort, if his dragon was there he trusted it would find him. but he was rooting for the little ones.

Third yawn of the hatching accompanied the first green to tumble out. He eyed her with mild interest. He could already tell her emotions ran high. Then the twins came and the ripple of excitement around him was almost a physical force making his body sway in his chosen spot and shift his stance on the hat sands. He failed to find the same awe. After all he could not impress to a gold and scrubbing all that hide seemed like a lot of work. He'd be happy with a manageable green thanks very much.

So he tried to send his good vibes to the green even as she launched into a full on fight with one of the gold twins. Chill out sisters.

Erastan and Aspalath: Western riders

Erastan had fully expected to sit out this hatching. After all his sister was sick and depressed about not being able to attend. Her will power just was not enough to wish her sniffles away before the touching and subsequent hatching. Only when Aspalath dropped his sleepy rider at the healers where she was spending her recovery. All they found was an empty bed. Well shells.

Of course Erastan knew exactly where she was. Climbing back aboard his blue they winged their way into the hatching amongst the crowd and found a small high, out of the way ledge which had a better view of the stands than the egg sands. It didn't take him long to spot the blanket huddled figure.

He tutted, Stubborn girl.

'Aspalath you going to be okay here on your own?"

'Yes Erastan, go see to sister. I am quiet out of the way here. No one is going to bother me.'

Of course he was wrong. Almost the moment after Erastan had started to climb down to the sands Aspalath felt a wave of warmth directed at him from the living embodiment of sunshine that was his bigger sister Khamaith. He gently sent a hesitant greeting back. A little nudge. Just encase he had somehow mistaken her out reach.

Meanwhile Erastan had reached his sister. Coming from the back of the stands he was able to pounce her and wrap his arms around her tightly before she could struggle away. "Got you." He whispered into her ear. "I thought you were still meant to be in bed,"

Farellen watched the new egg hatch, ooooh nice blue, but what was he going to do? he was walking straight towards the fighting pair, he could get hurt here....

~~~~~~~~~~
Helane just didn't like the fighting, but OH! a blue... look at him go, all proud.
~~~~~~~~~~

Serfie still felt sick to her stomach, she worried about the blue that just hatched, who was now moving near the fighting girls, if they wouldn't listen to their father, a brown, what was this lovely, proud blue, going to manage with them?

FISHER

Can dragons suplex one another? Such a thought drifted through Fisher's head as she looked at the dragons, though a glance down at her hand had her flexing a fist. "Claws would probably make it harder, and easier, to get a grip though." Could they even bend over backwards like that? The candidate knew it was sort of bad that dragonets were fighting and another egg had seemed fit to join in, but what exactly was she going to do about it?

It's not like either dragon was likely to be hers, and even if they were she was told it was against the rules to step in. The whole "you will die" rule was a pretty big one to follow, after all, and Fisher liked being alive. Besides, surely someone would step in before there was a dead dragonet, so best to let them get it out of their systems. The other gold hadn't joined in, neither had the two greens or the crying blue. A sassy blue was going, and Fisher snorted.

Was this going to be a tag team battle? Some sort of battle royale??

Vesden | High Reaches | He/Him

Oh. Oh, this was already going bad. This was so much. Two queens in one egg? Had that ever happened before? That certainly wasn't normal. And the gay flag egg had seemed so overwhelmed just by being touched, this was probably so, so much for them...

The majority of Vesden's attention was on the angry little green, though. He was prepared for this, they'd told him what to do if attacked, to stay out of the way if someone else were attacked, to let the queen and her mate handle the hatchlings if anyone did. He was alright, everyone knew what to do, none of them seemed to be putting themselves in danger and the dragons weren't harming each other too badly yet. Maybe it was okay.

That poor little green though, she was so distressed and it would be such an amazing day for her if she would just calm herself and focus on finding her match among the candidates. He understood though, she was so very new and every bad thing was the worst thing that ever happened to her, of course she was upset...

Lelte

Though her eyes were red, the first baby hatched, and she was a lovely green. And look, the olive egg was ready to make it's entrance...Two...There were twin golds! This was unheard of. How exciting! Lelte bounced with even more excitement.

And aww, did little green have to be so forceful in helping her other siblings out of their eggs? What if they weren't ready? But what lovely tiny green and another set of twins! This was such a blessed clutch. Mom must have been so proud. Daddy obviously was.

And That poor little Daisy Green. And the Crying Blue, she wanted to go over and just snuggle them. But she knew better. It wasn't her place to move onto the sands, they weren't hers, and with the fight that looked to be gearing up... no thank you. She would stay where it was safe, but she would also attempt to send loving thoughts towards the two littles.

Melhaika

Melhaika looked on as the first baby hatched, a lovely fierce little green. And where others fawned over the little queens, he spared enough notice to admire them for a second before turning back to the little girl who was first. She deserved to be seen and adored for the fierce beauty she was.

Korbet

He was not quite transfixed, but definitely enthralled. Two sets of twins and a brawl, not some one-sided affair where the human half had to stand down for fear the dragon half might go Between, but a spat between sisters over a slight they might never let go. It was wonderfully dramatic, at least until the Candidates inevitably started dropping. Maybe they wouldn't this time. He took no one's side, carefully feeling nothing but encouragement for the dragons that had hatched. It was so easy to remember his lessons when he wasn't drinking.

Beside him, Stripe-Stripe popped into view, shrieking support for the Paw Print green below and startling Scarf awake. Korbet shushed them both, gathering the angry green into his lap and rubbing at her neck and headknobs until she was still.

Orry - Tosk
As soon as Orry spotted Tosk, she began to make her way towards him. The lad needed to lighten up a bit, and who else was perfect for the job? She shuffled a bit, scooting a few places down to be a bit closer to him. "Hi, Tosk!" If he hoped not to engage in conversation, he had quite another thing coming.

She winced as the green was knocked over, and then they began to fight; Orry barely noticed Daisy approaching the candidates with curiosity. "Oh no..." she breathed. "Siblings shouldn't fight...I hope no one gets hurt!" She shook her head, refusing to let herself feel too worried. "I'm sure they'll be okay, though." Someone had to be sure about that, at least. Even if it wasn't her, truthfully.

As the blue hatched and approached the fighting ladies, she smiled. "I'm sure he'll talk them down," she said, speaking both to herself and to Tosk--her inane chatter serving the purpose of keeping everyone calm, happy, and distracted...ideally, anyways.

Sweet Symmetry

Nuamia

Nuamia gave a little wave to Daisy Green as she began to explore the candidates. Seemed safe enough with the sweet one at least. She wasn’t thrilled about the fighting but remembered that often there were tussles. Nuamia just hoped it didn’t get out of hand. Not like the last Western clutch please.

More were hatching though! Turning to someone nearby, who turned out to be Rio, she grinned cheerfully. “Aren’t they all just so lovely?!” To Rasthell she also grinned. “I would ask if you had a favorite, but who can pick until they pick?”

Shalaera - Bet tracking

That definitely looked to be two golds - one of which was fighting that first green to hatch. Squinting at her paper in the dark, Shalaera carefully made any notes needed for her bets. And pondered the technicalities of a few of them - there were twins after all.

T’tain bets that the first dragon to impress will be a blue.

T’tain bets that the last dragon to impress will be a green.

Shalaera bets that the first dragon to hatch will be a Green.- Winning

Shalaera bets that the last dragon to hatch will be a Brown.
---
Vosin bets Killakeeth has hidden at least 5 more eggs

Shalaera makes no counter bet. - All 5 eggs must hatch at time of the hatching (AKA can't be added on at time of Graduation)

----

Candidate Jaiyce bets that he will Impress a Bronze

Candidate Jaiyce bets that Killakeeth will have TWO golds - win

Shalaera counters that Jaiyce will impress a Blue.

Shalaera has no counter bet for 2 golds. - loss

Qiana bets Keleres will Impress a female dragon.

Qiana bets that more Western candidates will Impress than High Reaches.

Shalaera bets that Keleres' female dragon will be amongst the last 7 to hatch.

Shalaera bets that more than half of the metallics in Killakeeth's clutch will impress Western candidates.

-------

Onyx bets that Nyrida will Impress a female dragon.

Onyx bets that there will be at least one stands Impression.

Shalaera is betting Jacquol's green will be between 22-24' (AKA 'Average' on the size chart)
---------

Astriana changes her second bet to impressing a blue

Shalaera bets the first white to hatch - if there are multiples - will be female.

Shalaera bets that Astri will impress the dragon that hatches very middle of all the babies. If for some reason there is an even number, sucks to be her. - This only counts for PC eggs that hatch, not NPCs at Graduation
----
Taiena has bet that Nikal will impress.

Shalaera has bet it will be a brown.
---
Rinis has bet that more than half of the greens in the clutch will impress boys.

Rundanrul watched with limited interest as the eggs began to hatch, first producing a green and then two golds. He could feel the excitement all around him but he was more interested in the huffy green who went on a little rampage after. He couldn’t help the grin as one of the golds went over to reprimand her and the tussle broke out. He had zero desire for any of the dragons currently on the sands but at least he had some entertainment. The green was plucky and knew what she wanted, at least. Still a green, but not the worst.

Kateleel on the other hand was horrified at the sisters fighting. He’d had a small spike of anxiety when two golds had popped out of one egg, but his sessions with the mind healers came back to him and he ran through a few breathing exercises before the sisters began to squabble. He held his breath, hoping none of them would seriously hurt the other, before extending a warm, encouraging thought to the little Daisy green who was inching her way towards the Candidates. You can do it!

Fivudal watched the dragons begin to fight and shifted his weight on his feet, waiting for a stray tail or claw to hit a Candidate. They certainly were a feisty bunch, weren’t they?

Nemo and Jacomus

Jacomus looked up, multiple things reflecting on his face. Amid them was shame for his own dragon's actions and words, and his not immediately controling him. "It's... It's not, no."

Beside him, Nemo let out a small sound. "Don't think I rightly need to ask how things are, then." He looked back a the sands, watching an egg fall over, then another egg hatched. "Ah, we have a green first!"

The best color!

Nemo shot Lokith a look where she was, "Of course she'd think green's the best color." He paused. "Of course I'm biased, myself..."

Jacomus only let out an amused sound at Nemo, then looked at the narrow space of the seat remaining. "Perhaps, um..." He gave his lap a bit of a pat, glancing up at Casgar.

Well that's curious! Two golds?

Oh, this was going to be an interesting hatching, indeed, Nemo thought!

Mr Cheri

HR Candidate Tarnaria

Oh, she was awake now! One egg hatched, and then another - First a green, and then--

Tarnaria drew in a gasp, eyes wide. "Two golds..." The egg had hatched into twin golds. Had such a thing ever happened before? But while they were a curious sight, her eyes went to the Brown Paw Print Green, watching the baby tantrum. Oh, the poor dear... "Well, only one dragon gets the honor of hatching first!" She was proud of the little green, no other egg had hatched first, so that was an honor even her sisters couldn't take away! She heard the murmurs, yes, but Tarnaria's heart went to the little green, who had had such an honor, only to have it overshadowed. She wanted to swoop in and protect the baby from her angry sister, but she held her ground, not wanting punishment for inerfering. Even when the Daisy Green approached the candidates, Tarnaria's eyes remained on Brown Paw Print

Velara

She had never had any ambitions, so the golds, while twins and highly unusual because of that and good for the weyr, were not on her mind as even the slightest possibility. They were lovely and she would admire them from afar. She turned her attention to the blues and greens closer to her, wondering and hoping for herself, but more, she wanted them to be happy and find Theirs.

She couldn't help the smile that crossed her face as the little daisy green started to make her way towards the candidates. A baby that was willing to start by being brave and finding Theirs. Good on you little one, you got this!

Tandry

The Hatching was off to an exciting start, and he couldn't wait to see how things would work out...
