There was very little divine about what was working through Azira, though it did most certainly change her aura.
As she felt the first rumblings, threatening explosion, she seemed to almost shrink, the lightning around her scattering, leaving her feeling like she'd tried to take hold of a raw thunderbolt. Her staff wasn't far away, she retrieved it, but trying to use magic was like trying to get blood from a rock, she was utterly drained, even of her lightning, which had never failed her before.
"I...I can't do anything..." she gasped, trying to gather the strength to weave a spell had made her heart skip a couple of beats, contracted her chest painfully, and even then she wasn't good enough with magic to know a spell that would protect more than a handful of people. Her thoughts scattered the instant she gathered them up, there was no way she could work a Major Invocation in her condition. She was out of tricks.

Nexol-Atra flipped over a shadow and ran straight at the entrance of the temple, "Raegib will be here soon, and the girl can hold her own in battle...EXPLOSION!" He pointed his sword at the wall and blasted it away, "Something isnt right in my city" He walked down into the depths of the former temple and then stepped into the main room...
"that b*****d...he is stronger than we anticipated him to be." Nexol atra closed hsi eyes and wrapped himself in the chaos, "An enchantment..powerful magics...oh no..." He bared his teeth and let out a low, feral growl, "No...not in *MY* city!" The man slowly began to absorb the energy into himself... ----
Raegib turned his horse sharply to the right and jumped off of it. He ran up the main road of the Temple Quarter, his sword drawn. With a giant leap, he janded next to one of the remaining shadows, "Hello, a*****e. this is the emperor wishing you a good time during your vacation to oblivion!" Raegib spun around and sliced the shadow in half then jumped on to the next one...

Well, usually she can, anyway. Right now she's just trying to not get cut in half. She brings her staff up to block a sword stroke, the impact reverberating through her body, nearly driving her to her knees.
"Rah!" She swung her staff in a wide arc, the clubbed end smashing into the Shadows head in a blow that would crush the skull of a normal creature. It dazed the being long enough for her to smash at its kneecaps, and then at the top of its head, with the intent of spattering it all over the cobblestones. She barely dodged a claymore aimed at her, it slashed open a bit of her robe and the skin beneath it, she hissed as she lost her footing and rolled away as the blade came down again, leaping back to her feet just in time to parry another strike with her staff and bludgeon its wielder mercilessly.
She really is a bad cleric.

Nexol-Atra finished absorbing then energy into his body and began to limp out of the tomb. The absorbtion fo the energy took its toll on the man, and he understood very well what he was doing, "The enchantment that man put on then energies is now inside of us..." He finally made his way out of the temple...
Raegib cut down another shadow and then turned to face the remaining two, but his attention was drawn elsewhere. He pushed his gaze beyond the two shadowas and watched as a severly weakened Nexol-Atra cut down one of the shadows from behind. He also watches the reaction of the other shadow...
The other shadow leapt upon Nexol-Atra and drove his claymore into his back and out of his chest, "ungh..." Nexol-Atra's eyes widened as he felt pain shoot through his body, "damn..." He fell foward and his body split back into its two seperate parts. Both Leon's and Nexol's eyes had a distant look in them as their bodies turned cold.
As this happened, Raegib stood there as the two men who taught him everything fell in batle before his eyes, "No...Leon...Nexol... ... ..." He growled and rushed the shadow as it was pulling its sword up. The emperor flew at the shadow and stabbed through it with his blade, twisting it and then ripping it up and out of its body, "..."

Azira gasped, very nearly dropping her staff (which wouldn't have been that much of a danger, the shadows had all been dispatched,) and moved toward them.
"...my lord?"
At this point, a healing spell would most certainly kill her, but she was willing to try, but a revival was beyond her even when she was in peak condition.

Raegib looked down at the bodies then fell to his knees and began to recite a prayer in Arrian, "Ø grandé dieti et dietas, Sélvani de égami ømnis, éga és prizo ad tuus pør al duex viri vhø és precedé tuus. Mai vhey habé pacae in te amoria." He fell foward and continued to recite the prayer repeatedly...

MUHAHAHAHAHhahahaha......ha.... Nexol and leon dead! I was happy with a big crater but this is even better Velorius does a happy little dance Pitty I didn't forsee this, I've already decided the current Velorius has already commited himself to death. Had I known I could have had him live to finish the city, now I'll settle on the rampage....))
Looking to the East Velorius sensed a disturbance in the ether, somehow they had averted the cataclism, how was beyond even his knowledge.
Damn! the Shadows have fallen, the temple is now useless and I have little time left, best make it count.
He gathered his energy and levatated up into the air to look down on the city streets, bringing his palms close together he channeled his power and formed a large blue crystal. He cast one of his hands skyward and the crystal shot upwards where it shattered into dozens of shards that plummeted down. Anything that was struck by the shards took on a blue glow then a moment latter exploded violently, in a matter of minutes the shower of crystal shards had desemated many of teh nearby buildings. Fires raged out of control and screams filled the air, while Velorius continued his attacks throwing magick at random without any apparent pattern other than the destruction of Fellpoli.

Even if Azira was all but useless for the moment magically, she could certainly still feel the power of Velorius's spell, even from the Temple Quarter.
Her eyes flashed dangerously, and she nearly snarled in anger, a violent litany of curses flowing from between her lips (and she knew quite a few.) A scroll tucked away in one of her sleeves was brought out and read, the latent spell in the parchment pulling her back to the healers room in the temple of Perún, snatching a few rejuvenating potions off the shelves on her way out, downing the bitter liquid as she went.
Perún had once been a god of war, and as such his followers were well trained in many aspects that were somewhat less than spiritual. She paused in her rooms long enough only to snatch a pair of thick armored bracers with wicked long spikes that would cause quite a bit of extra damage when brawling and a few spell scrolls which she tucked away in her sleeves, one that she kept palmed.
She looked like she was on the warpath on the way out, an image enhanced by the fact that she was covered in blood and her eyes were very nearly sparking. A poor page was traumatized as she passed by and grabbed him by the front of his robes.
"Send up the alarm. Dispatch healers to the area where the Xian River meets the northern wall, have the others standing ready, send runners to the other temples. Got it?" Without waiting for the page's answer, she whipped open the scroll in her hands and recited it. A portal swirled into existence in front of her, the chaos in Fellipoli visible on the other side, and she stormed through it.
((She's pissed now. domokun ))

(Oh, Velorius, you assume too much. Have you ever wondered just *HOW* two nekos lived for about 6000 years?) THERE was a light wind and then silence as the young emperor continued to grieve over the death of his ancestor. The grief soon turned to white-hot rage, "Damn that madman. He will pay for this." Raegib stood up and sheathed his sword. Quickly, he turned and began to slowly walk towards the nearest transport. He was so wrapped up in his suddne call to revenge that he didnt quite notice the loud cursing behind him.
"Damn you, Raegib! Dont go and throw your life away!" That was the sound. But Raegib didnt hear that...all he heard was the blood pumping through his head. He ignored the guards pointing frantically in the direction behind him. Raegib didnt even know they were there...he stepped down into the underground public transport and yelled out, "Fellpoli!" The magics wrapped themselves around him and he was spirited away to the other side of the city... ----
Behind Raegib, in the area where he possibly forgot existed, Leon stirred. His eyes came back into focus and he struggled to his knees, "********. That Velorius really is asking for it..." He looked up at Raegib and yelled out to him, "DAMMIT! RAEGIB! GET YOUR ARSE BACK HERE! ELTH'LOUWI, RAE'GIB!!" Leon looked over to Nexol who was stirring lightly thne back at Raegib, "Damn you, Raegib! Dont go and throw your life away!" The man stood up and looked at where the hole in his chest was, "Yea...that will leave a mark...Nexol. I'm tired of holding back. Lets go."
On the floor, Nexol moaned grumpily, "But Leooon!!! I'm tired of fighting this guy...cant we just teleport Arrius to another plane?" He grumpled and poened his spellbook, "To Fellpoli we go, Leon." He grabbed Leon's shoulder and they winked out of existance, leaving the already panicked citizens of Arrius in a state of pure frenzy.
They appeared a few feet away from Velorius. Nexol floated foward, his six wings spread out and beating lightly, "Ok. You have officially pissed me off. Prepare to die!" He rose his hand in the air, and the symbol '本' appeared in red on both his and Leon's foreheads. Shackles of red energy then appeared on their wrists and ancles.
"Al horat és ora! CEASEO!" The seal on their foreheads and the shackles turn a blue colour, shining with an intensity greater than the sun's. but, as the light faded, and the seals remained on their foreheads, and the shackles shattered and fell to the ground "Now, my dear Velorius, Nexol said in a mocking tone, "You are what the youths in the Human quarter call '******** FLARE!" As Nexol called out the incantation, the skies darkened and black flames shot from the heavens before wrapping around Nexol and shooting as Velorius...

And suddenly Azira felt very, very small and impotent. Turning the sky dark and calling down black fire will do that. Especially after seeming to have come back from the dead.
Really, there was only one thing she could do that would make her of any use whatsoever, and that was getting people out. Not that there were many people left. All those able to had fled, she was no healer, and the dead were beyond her ability.
<You could let me fight...just surrender...>
Her movements took on a predatory cast, a fluid grace that she ordinarily didn't have. Another scroll was pulled out of her sleeve, she sat against a wall that had been reduced to a bit of standing rubble, and recited the scroll. Soft blue light sprung up in a semicircle around her, a spell of protection. Her lips kept moving even as her hands dropped, eyes open and fixed on nothing, sparks raced over her skin...
...and crackles of lightning arced over her back, forming once again vague impressions of wings...they beat once, twice, and she rose off the ground, a wild look on her face.
"Barely adequate...hmph...but it will do." More electricity coiled around her arms, forming claws over her fingertips, and she shot up into the sky. "How may I be of assistance, my lord?"
((She's having a major case of past-life regression, it should be fairly obvious that it's not 'her,' as indicated by the italics.))

((Velorius stops dancing and begins sulking I slightly suspected you'd bring them back, I just thought you'd wait a while and have a climatic return. I'm sulking because only know do I learn of a public transport system, I was alking and telporting everywhere for nothing!))
Had Leon and Nexol struck straight away they would have obliterated him, but their little light show and dramatics gave him teh time to prepare himself. As the attack came Velorius dodged teh attack and watched in amusement as it blasted what was left of teh neighbourhood. "Why thank you my lord. It's so nice you share my views on urban renewal."
Velorius watched as another energy spiked, it was the priestess from earlier. Her aura was different and now he could get a close look he felt what it really was. "Well don't you get around, not bad enough you mess with my plans but you insist on following me around. I'm sorry, but if you have a crush on me your not really my type."
He turned towards Leon again, and raised his arms towards teh destruction all around them. "So what do you think, abomination of life? You claim to protect this city, yet despite your best, I've managed to lay waste to several blocks of the beastblood quarter and I can only dream fondly of how much blood was spilt in teh temple quarter."
Velorius took on an odd expresion and began laughing maniacly before going into a caughing fitand descnding to the ground and collapsing to his knees. Looking up towards those above his face had paled and blood trickled down his chin. "S-so, who will get the honor of.... of killing a dying.... m-man?"
Despite his obvious weakness he still looked confident and gave the others a smug smile.

Nexol rushed foward, but Leon put an ahnd on his shoulder, "Nexol. Let me do this." Leon landed on the ground and folded his wings. They disappeared in a burst of light, and what was left was the image of a young neko male, about the age of 26, with stone-grey eyes and lavender hair. He was about 5 feet and 11 inches tall, and he wore a simple black kimono that had the Motosuwa Crest on itts back, "Velorius, I hereby sentence you to death for your declaration of War against the City-State of Arrius." His eyes flashed crimson briefly before he charged at Velorius. As he charges, a long, pearl-white katana appeared in his left hand, its blade angled towards Velorius's chest...

Velorius watched passively as Leon charged, as he drew near Velorius raised his right arm and at teh last moment before teh blade struck, Velorius snapped his fingers and his intire body was consumed in bright blue flames. "You didn't think I'd let you kill me! I have more pride than to let myself die at the filthy hand of a neko."
Quickly the entire body was consumed by the flames untill only ash remained. As the ashes were scattered by a breeze an eerie voice could be heard. "Sentenced to death for declaring war? Your ego knows no bounds... In the name of all that is right I sentence this city and your dynasty to oblivion.... This war as you call it has only just begun, I will ground your empire to dust and scatter it to the ages...."
The voice faded away leaving behind the scene of devastation Velorius had created.

"And he accuses others of an ego problem..." not-Azira muttered as she drifted down to a significantly lesser altitude. She looked around at the carnage and sighed. "I'm going to regret this later..." Her hands flashed in a series of staccato motions, a bright glow outlined her body, and then a huge, brilliant-white bird shape rose from her shoulders, wings outspread, long neck stretched up to the sky. "Spirit of the Pheonix!" The spiritshape rose into the air with a few great downbeats of its wings, and flew in a great circle around Azira.
The people within the circle staggered to their feet, even those who had been dead, sore and injured, but alive. The spirit bird smashed back into Azira, disappearing as if it'd never been, and the girl collapsed like a puppet whose strings had been cut, bleeding from the mouth and nose, singed and smoking, and breathing in shallow gasps, very nearly dead.
The spell hadn't even come close to reviving everyone who'd died, but it was a sizable number.
And if Nexol or Leon wanted to question her about it, well, they'd have to wait a while. If she didn't die outright, she'd be comatose for quite some time.
