"Well, she was three. Dating was a very simple concept taught to her by us and the Disney movies." Amaya told him. "And of course she approves. You're pretty much the only guy she's ever known."

"Well, only guy with a soul...." Adrian said remembering how Sikes had previously taken care of her before throwing her in with him and Amaya. "And that's right, you eventually stopped telling her about Damien...Or did that change after we got separated?"

"I tried to. Her grandparents have started telling her about him though. And it's not really like I can walk up to them and tell them to stop telling their granddaughter about their dead son." Amaya sighed, pulling into herself a little now. "We've had to have a lot of discussions I've never wanted to have about Damien because of them telling her stories." She muttered.

How many years had it been and yet she still seemed to hurt a little when it came to Damien. Well, normal people might have moved on, but with what Amaya's life had been like, she wasn't exactly normal. "I'm sorry." he said hugging her a little tighter in comfort.

"It's okay." She murmured, though she held onto his arms in front of her for a little more comfort. She'd never be able to fully move on after what she went through and what happened to Damien, as much as she wanted to be able to, she knew she wouldn't. Every time someone mentioned him, it only brought her back to that place, back to feeling that way. Amaya's right arm twitched and she let go of Adrian's arm before it reacted violently, already leaving his embrace to get her pills.

"....I'm a dumbass...." Adrian muttered with a sigh as he laid his head back and rested an arm over his eyes. Damien was officially going on his list of 'never speak of again' topics. It seemed that even in death that guy had a leg up over him even after all this time.

Once she got her pills down, Amaya felt her arm calm greatly. Sighing, she shook it off and then returned to the couch, taking her seat next to Adrian again. "Sorry about that..." She murmured.

"It's fine." Adrian told her softly as he wrapped his arms back around her. "If it makes you feel any better, I've got emergency meds too. If I ever get a whiff of blood and get a craving for the stuff I've got these little gel capsule type things filled with imitation blood, just for me."

"Sure, why not?" Adrian said with a small smile. "It takes a lot to set me off though. Like gory crime scene or butcher shop. A little scrape on the knee or a paper cut isn't going make me go primal. Besides, I do a horrible Transylvanian accent." he joked.

"So now we can't watch CSI, True Blood, or Dexter?" Amaya asked, raising an eyebrow. She rather liked the shows, but they were full of gore.
