Ophelia, after awhile, seemed quite compliant in comparison to the start of her abduction. She walked awfully slow and seemed to be constantly looking for an escape route, but she was compliant. She started to slowly but steadilly wriggle free of the ropes that bound her, loosening their hold until she could eventually start sawing away at them with a knife she had hidden in her sleeves. (As one might recall, she'd been taking more and more precautions against this sort of thing since her last fateful abduction. Hidden blades alongside her guns was one of them.)

((I take it she's being led along by the kidnappers then? Like 'walk, slave!' kind of thing or something?))

((Juuuuust checkin :3 ))
Suddenly one of Ophelia's shoes came flying through the air and violently collided with the primary kidnapper's head. Kaistern was walking toward the group from the opposite end of the hallway and he was not happy. "I cannot believe what I'm seeing here...To think that someone--one of my own advisors no less--would have the gaul to kidnap Ophelia right out from under my nose, and on castle grounds no less." he said running a claw along the wall as he walked, leaving long scratch marks in the stone blocks. "I assume you plan to try and kill her, like every other group has tried and failed to do before this point. And I'm sure you're well aware of the punishment of such crimes, having lived so close to the throne for so long."

While the advisor tried to defend his actions with the verbal equivalent of racist demonic propeganda, Ophelia slowly backed away from the group and began cutting at her ropes faster. Everyone was looking at the pissed off Kaistern, listening to him talk and scratch the tunnel walls. Once she finished with the ropes around her wrist she went on wiggle free and pull off as much of the rope as she could. Puffing one's chest out when being tied up left a surprising bit of wriggle room, believe it or not. Again, though, no one noticed as she did so - to the possible exception of Kaistern himself.

"Save your speeches. If I cared about your crude opinions on humans and other races, I wouldn't have married her to begin with." Kaistern was surprisingly less focused on Ophelia and her well-being and more on the kidnappers and dealing out their punishment. "I'm done talking with you; any and all acts of treason, are punishable by death. Crimes mounted against the queen are to be dealt with personally by my hand. Or had I not written that law yet?" he said with a bit of a sick grin as he tossed aside a few of the traitorous guards. "For your acts of treason, of kidnapping and plotting to kill the queen, I hereby strip you of your titles, and your lives." he said making a swift cutting motion with his hand, using his claw as a knife to remove the ex-advisor's head from his body before cleaning up the rest of the villains.

"They never learn, do they...?" Ophelia murmured quietly to herself, shaking her head slightly at the foolishness of the now dead villains as she tossed the ropes that once bound her aside. She would have offed them herself had he not gotten to them first. The dead men surrounding them did not warrant much attention at this point, though, as Ophelia could clearly tell by the furious look that Kaistern retained. "Are you alright?" were the very first words out of her mouth, accompanied by a clear look of concern.

Kaistern looked down at his hand, a quivering claw soaked in blood. "...No, I'm not..." he admitted holding his head. "I don't think I'm as cured as I thought I was. I said I didn't want to kill anyone else like this..."

"The method was...unfortunate, but their deaths were still necessary. Treason, if tolerated, will only invite more treason." Ophelia pointed out, beginning to approach Kaistern so that she could offer him a comforting hug. "I'm sorry this came to be, but please don't blame yourself for this." In a way, it was sweet how she didn't put him at fault for what had just occured. In her eyes, the blame lay entirely at the dead traitors' feet.

((Never thought I'd see the day that I decided to stop being a dark elf.))
"That's not what I'm worried about. I...I snapped again. It was nowhere near the same degree of insanity as before, but the rage was still there. I thought I'd gotten rid of him..." Kaistern whimpered slightly, scared he was starting to regress to how he was before.

{Regardless, your avi looks quite nice as it is now~ :nod:}
Ophelia reached out to gently hold Kaistern's cheeks as she gazed into his eyes. "You did get rid of him, though. That doesn't mean that you should be incapable of feeling anger. You were never before taught how to control your emotions, so when an extreme event like this happens you panic." Ophelia leaned in to rest her forhead against his. "We just need to help you learn to control your temper, that's all. Nothing is wrong with you." She kept a gentle tone of voice as she spoke, offering him a sweet and understanding smile as she did so.

((I know. ^.^ It's just that I'm pretty sure I've been a dark elf since they introduced it as a skin choice. XD ))
"...Of all the kings to try and change things, why did it have to be me? I'm cracked; I'm really not fit to be dealing with all this stress and things to set me off." Kaistern sighed.

{It is so easy to get a loyalty to any given avatar 'skin', isn't it?}
"Even despite that, you've done more good than any other king I know of. You're the only who is willing to try. Everyone else is too concerned with their personal wealth, reputation, or hedonism to even bother with the important issues." Following these words, Ophelia gave Kaistern a soft kiss. "Everyone has their challenges that they must face in life. You were just given a few more than most, making the fruits of your efforts all the sweeter once you do inevitably see your goals through."

"And just how many kings have you known in your lifetime?" Kaistern said with a meek smile as he wrapped his arms around her to pull Ophelia into a gentle hug.

"Most of the prissy idiots I met when they visited the castle. The Satyr King was a particularly irritating character, if you ask me." Ophelia replied, unintentionally taking on a bit of a pouty look at the thought of the other kings. She didn't know them well enough, that was true, but their behavior and mannerisms did nothing to discredit the oppinion she currently had of them. (To be fair, though, she was human and most often they discredited her due to that. It was only natural that she'd only see the worst of them.)
