Nimueh wasn't simply there to encourage her dragon and feed him Firestone, She was also a second set of eyes for her partner. Another range of senses and when she felt something oppressive settle over them she instantly looked up. Thread was falling right ontop of the.
Mharlith dive!
The brown didn't hesitate, he tucked in his wings and dropped like a comet, twisting his tail partyly to control the angle of their descent. It gave them enough time and space from the deadly silver threads to fly free of its path, but it had been too awkward a maneuver to flame at the same time. Nim hoped one of the wing riders had gotten it.
1/5:Ouch! You had successfully flamed Thread but the gust push the ash back into you as you fly! The hot ash cloud burns as you fly through it, but you're made of tougher stuff than that! The focus is Thread, not pain! [+2 Pain Resilience] 2/5:The air is thick with Thread. It's at its heaviest up here, and you are literally surrounded by silver tendrils. You roar defiance before spitting forth a great flame, scorching the deadly threads before you with ease. Flame Length +1 3/5:You mange to pull off a quick save with some fancy wing-work! Instead of getting hit by some stray strands, you're able to roll out of harm's way! While you weren't able to catch it, you're certain one of your wingmates will.

- - - - The blue and his rider were relieved when they were able to switch formation. Just one more hour, Cinonth! H'sad told his blue, checking on his beloved dragon to make sure he was well. Aside from a twinge in his wing, and the pain of some scores, he still felt well!
Neither dragon nor rider mentioned that in an hour, Dr'stan and Cynosuth would be up....

High Altitude
The wind was worse up here then in the lower positions. Ihiannsith large size was not helping either. There was more thread and he was a large dragon and while they managed to stay in formation. Thread score tangled into him and they were between and back.
"I know, but it will be okay." Aly'on soothed struggling to keep his focus on the skies around him and not the pulsing pain.

Shyn'ar and Gwyllinth had found their second wind. It helped they were flying lower and had reached the midway point of their battle. He focused on teh thread, Gwyllinth flying up to flame it. He Jerked surprised at the sudden movement and gave a small noise as he caught on and Gwyl flamed it successfully.

They were back to flaming again, almost as if the sudden drop and near escape hadn't happened. They rejoined the wing, constantly trying to keep formation in the chaos and went back to flaming as strong and far as befrore, in fact it seemed to be hotter and more deadly with the added motivation of a wing to protect, not just as one of the rank and file, but a leader.

Sadly luck didn't always hold,it couldn't. For as much thread was flamed from the sky, there was another load twisting from the clouds in it's place. Whats more it was nearing the end of the second hour. Many dragons had fallen, some had even needed the queens to save them
The bronze and browns were feeling the strain, not to mention their smaller brethren.
Another shift in the wind was all it took to end their streak, the thread came at them. With Nim's warning mharlith tried to twist away, but the thread still succeed in catching his flank and burying into the muscle across his rump, almost completely crippling the back leg in an instant. luckily he didn't need it to fly so they were still able to snap between and shake it off. However they were bleeding heavily from the wound upon reentry. .

H'sad bellowed, hanging on tight to Cinonth as the blue made quick wing work. He barreled out of the way, barely avoiding the flames.
Shaffit that was close.
You okay, Cinonth?
A little singed but not hurt, no. That was close!

- - - - Avoiding the near miss of a wingmates flame, the blue took off after another nearby clump. Unfortunately, the wind pushed it back. Thankfully, H'sad had a spot in mind for the blue to go, who took it, jumping quickly Between. The dragon managed to appear above the threat, and though he wasn't able to catch it with his flame, he was, at least, undamaged....
