Dr: "Can't tell you that one Daedalus" he said petting Scuttles. "Come now there is more." he smiled cheerfully and took them down a few corridors til they could see out a few windows that there was a ginormous barren field, inside there were many figures dressed as soldiers and had guns of different kinds and tanks rolled behind them.

underneath them there were rumbles and doors open and in the field emerged a large humanoid being that was by the armor and helmet design for sure a blood knight with 6 lenses on its helmet, the creature had a massive array of weaponry, a rail gun on its left shoulder, an artillery cannon on its right, 2 auto shotguns on each of its arms , a gauss rifle on its side, and a an axe on its back.

Dr. Lore: "That there is Zeus, a new blood knight, he is the second in our single-army project. as you can see he is fully equipped with all the weapons he could need to fight large groups of enemies for extended periods of time"

the soldiers begin shooting at Zeus and taking cover as the tanks aimed at him

Zeus: he gave off a growl and raised his arms up and shot his auto shotguns at the soldiers taking down 3 squads in a hail of bullets, he then launches an artillery shell and takes down a tank and the soldiers around it, he aims his rail gun and fires at a group of soldiers behind cover and blows them away, he slowly marches in firing his shotguns into groups of soldiers as they quickly were ripped to pieces by the waves of constant bullets flying into them

Dr. Lore; "Don't worry, hes just killing robots" he said reassuringly

"Killing robots... If that's the case then your 'test' here relies on the effectiveness of these robots, and nothing more. Set two people of equal swimming abilities against each other in a swimming competition, and have one swim in water while the other swims in tar. It all depends on the environment..." Roland said, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He had the bottom of his right foot against the wall, and had a slight grin on his face, though it was clear that the smile was malicious in nature. "Why exactly are we here? I grow tired of games Doctor, and an irritated mercenary is something best avoided. I want to know why it was necessary to kidnap us, then treat us like guests who are here of our own free will. Your attitude is unnerving, what exactly is it you want of us?" Roland asked. He would have kept going, but something required his attention. His eyepiece scanner had been going crazy since he put it on after waking up, trying to scan everything and beeping and pinging and constantly alerting him of 'unknown programs' around him. "No s**t, this place is highly guarded. Stupid eyepiece... give up already." He was about to shut it off, but he then noticed something odd. He was picking up something from outside the facility, a ways away from his location. From what he could tell, it was a beacon of sorts. "How odd... Wonder what that's all about."

(I'm sorry Rol i had to do this XD )

Avalon: his shoulders drop and he looks at Roland. "You're a very whiny mercenary, and kinda daft too. Do you honestly believe this is the only training they get in combat? this is just a test to see how much damage they can do to an enemy they are the most -likely- to encounter, actually these robots are way more durable then humans so that even betters him for when they do fight them. This is a way to test armor durability against standard weaponry and then tank rounds, seeing if the armor and weapons can hold together from a barrage of weaponry being fired at them at once, it gets to your little swimming challenge later, its called taking steps in your training and hitting every knot and canny, maybe if you tried it you wouldn't sound like a fool when trying to act badass" he was amused doing this to Roland.

"Oh and you should know why you are here, but i'll tell you, its because you kept bitching about needing a place to stay when we were at that restaurant, you know, before we went bowling? and I told all of you that I would let you all chill out at my place and hang low so you wouldn't have policemens shotgun barrels up your bum holes. But yeah you're here, at my place, and you're being treated like a guest BECAUSE YOU ARE ONE! Dr. lore is being courteous to show you around where you will be hanging for a while just so you know where everything is because thats how hosts work! and you just got a chiropractic job done and you're still whining....You know the doctor isn't playing games with you hes being a courteous host answering you alls questions to the best of his ability, but sense you like games so much..."

he pulls a gameboy advance with Pokemon Ruby in its game slot from his back pocket and he puts it in Rolands hand "....there, now shut up"

he pauses for a bit "You want a hug?" biggrin

The state fair... Everyone goes there at least once in their life.

Gotta see the rides, the colorful proprietors, the clowns, the animals....

There's always that one ride, however, toward the back of the fair... that one that never seems to have a line, but looks so interesting at first.

Sure, it seems innocent at first... a simple haunted house ride, right? But as you look at the ride, you notice... it's not made with trailers and extra parts like the other rides in the fair.... and the paintings on the side of the ride, they seem to twist and distort... almost like it's uncomfortable for them to stay still while you're nearby, like they'd prefer to move about...

And as you near this ride, curious, a lone man at a podium in front chants the familiar lines... "Step right up, Come one, come all..." You wonder... where did this guy pick up clothes? the 1920s? His top-hat and his ruffles, he looks more like he would be at home in the circus.. But he certainly makes his sales pitch convincing. You wonder... what could this ride be like?

As you near the man, though, you swear... just for an instant, though it may have been your imagination... that his eye glowed... a baleful red... You begin to doubt coming near this ride.... Everything about it cries out "spooky as hell". Not in the good way, either. But.. something pushes you forward.. You don't see it, but you don't seem to be in control of your body anymore... As you approach the man unwillingly... you notice that eye... it WAS glowing.... and now it's focused on you.... As the man ushers you into the building, he says, very mirthfully....

"That's two, for the Haunted House.... Enjoy the ride...."

Later, two boys walk up... curious about the ride that people seem to be avoiding...

((What's there to be sorry about? It's just an RP xd ))

Roland smirked and set the gameboy aside on a nearby table. "Be that as it may, robots are not the same as humans. Since those robots are apparently created to be ultimately destroyed, they must know their fate and have accepted it. They don't have the same feelings as a human, the will to survive at all costs, even if it means retreat. They won't share the emotions a human will have in a situation like this, the fear a person will have at the prospect of their life being in someone else's hands. Even if they do have artificial intelligence, it is not the same."

"And do you seriously go through this every time you decide you want to go 'home'? Odd, when I go home, I walk through the front door. Because I know where home is."

"And by the way, I'm not 'being whiny' as you put it, I'm doing my job. A mercenary is a hired gun, whether it be for for war or something as small as being a bodyguard. The employers are no good dead, and neither are any allies a mercenary may have. I'm being cautious, and I'm still not convinced that things are ok here. Until then, I will question things that catch my eye as 'dangerous' or 'out or the ordinary.' And, considering the circumstances, EVERYTHING is out of the ordinary."

A bead of sweat, possibly spawned from the anger at his restraint, or at the suddenness of the being's departure, crept slowly down Nerius' cheek as he sank to the ground, exhausted from the exertion. In a matter of minutes he had been reborn from clouds, had fallen to the ground, and had been confined by walls of energy as an mysterious, dark creature questioned him about his past. He allowed himself a small smirk as his knees made contact with the grassy earth. 'So much for second chances...' he mused, a bit bitterly.

He slid his hands into his pockets, as he rested back on the balls of his feet, and his fingers made contact with a small metal object. He produced it and held it up in the sunlight. A perfect, shiny metal cube shone brightly, reflecting a lance of sunlight into his eyes. He huffed, searching his memory for a reason for its existence in his suit pocket. With a shrug he stood to his feet again, took a step forward, and hurled it as far as he could, towards a small patch of woods in the distance. Then his eyes fell on the beacon the creature left behind.

'Wonder what... that's...' he pondered, walking up to it. His fingers traced over the sleek metal edges of the humming, angular machine, which pulsed with activity. 'A beacon...' he identified, his judgment based on the signal indicator on the side of the machine's interface. 'Guess all I have to do now is wait...' While he wondered just how long that wait would be, he decided it didn't matter. He sank back to the ground by the machine, folded his arms across his chest, and waited patiently.

a gas came into the air around him and very quickly he fell asleep, he could see a few figures around him in gas masks and soon he entered a deep sleep

when Nerius awoke he was in a containment tube full of water and a bald doctor with black sideburns stood in front of him. Nerius had an oxygen mask on in case he needed it

Dr: "Good morning to you, I didn't know what kind of water you wanted, distilled or just regular fountain water. anyway, welcome to our little facility. we'll let you out if you want unless you want to enjoy the plentiful source you're in now. Just whatever you do, relax. No harm will come to you unless we are attacked first. Now, would you like some food or something?"

____________________________________

Avalon: "Oh, so robots are emotionless and just sheep to the slaughter? What do you think Daedalus?" he gave a silence then looked to Roland "Besides your prejudice comment, I have to say you're quite assumptive if you are going to make that remark without even knowing how the machines are programmed, How do you know how they think? Because of what you can see? Then I guess you judge books by their covers a lot too."

"And really I do know my way home thank you, they didn't knock me out because I was born here and I am a known friendly, where you are questionable, so we are being just as cautious as you and bringing you in to where we know you can't reveal our location, its not very secret if its on a map" :3

"So the job of a mercenary is to be paranoid and incapable of relaxing cause he constantly makes assumptions with nothing to back them up? Honestly we've done nothing to you so really you're just paranoid, and you think this out of the ordinary when you are the one hanging around a robot that can do magic, a blind girl that can read minds, an elf, and an 8 foot tall guy who wears 2 tons of armor and at the moment hanging out with a virus that has constructed itself into a person? Buddy, define ordinary."

Sonia Marquez walked cautiously along the street, her eyes scanning all the nooks and crannies. She dagger she had shoved up one sleeve was becoming increasingly uncomfortable, but it was all necessary for the protection of the small creature clinging to her back. She could feel him shivering lightly against her, still afraid.

'What kind of monster would want to hurt a cute little thing like him?' She wondered silently. But she already knew the answer to that. That monster was the reason she was out here on a deserted street, with a concealed weapon, instead of safe at home. He...no. It was better not to think about that.

Sonia continued down the street, hoping against hope that no one had followed her.

"Alright that is enough out of both of you." She said it pleadingly and yet there was something that couldn't alter the command of the sentence.

"I would like to look around more if you don't mind?" She was actually curious to see how good the creatures where at what they did. "And besides once we've had a look around here. We can decide what to do next."

"It's not like that. While robots with AI do have emotion and such, it's different." Roland said, and glanced at Daedalus out of the corner of his eye. "Damn, this guys good at this."

"And the job of being a mercenary is to survive, and keep the ones you're supposed to protect alive as well. So yes, paranoia goes with the job. As for ordinary, these people are allies, so they are free from my paranoia. They have given me no reason to--" He said, and was then cut off by Elcia. "Heh heh... as you wish" he said, and folded his arms across his chest while leaning against the wall.

Lore: "Yes, You both have made quite a scene as it is." he takes them down and scuttles followed them next to Elci rolling in a ball

up ahead when they left the field where Zeus was fighting they see a large room where there was a satellite floating in the center and another one near the top

a blood knight of sorts was working on the satellites inner parts repairing the center one while jumping back to the other and taking parts from it

User Image

Lore: "That's Radirik, our specialist of the stars, the test he is taking is he is taking spare parts from one satellite to make the other work, the goal is to fix the center one while keeping the other one in functioning order. he has nothing but whats on his person and he has to get it done before time is out, he has 2 minutes left."

he looks at Radirik with a hint of sadness "Its good to have him back, I was worried about him last mission. He hardly made it out alive and he hasn't been the same since, won't talk about it either"

Nerius had awoken so the soothing sensation of the water around him. It was so cool and clear, and he felt it as a sort of concentration of energy, holding him and sustaining his very thought processes. He gently raised his hands and removed the awkward device over his mouth, letting the water flow into his body through his mouth. Breathing water was just a convenient byproduct of his ability. He let the oxygen mask float, and he gently placed his hands on the glass inside the tube. When he spoke, his voice carried out of the water as if he'd been standing right beside the bald man.

"Food... no, I don't want food," he said, a bit snappishly considering his current state of bliss in the tank. "What I want... answers would... be nice, I suppose, er..." He paused and closed his eyes, breathing in and out very slowly for a few cycles to subdue the anxiety. He began again, this time with a much calmer demeanor. As his mood calmed more and more, the water around him cooled so that a light frost began to form on the glass nearest his extremities.

"I'd like to know where I am, or, if that's not a possibility, I would like to know why I'm here. If those questions cannot be answered, then I would like out of my tank promptly. I would then request an audience with your supervisor... or... whomever is in charge... here..."

'Where -here- is,' he thought. 'Another lab, another unknown nobody, another day in the life...'

The Dr watched the tank as Nerius made it frost "Well, you are here because a distress beacon from a blood knight was where you were, so we assumed you needed some kind of assistance so we brought you here to recover until you got better enough you could feel able enough to go on your own again"

"I'm Dr. Kallen, pleasure to meet you."

((DP makes Nerius sound pretty cool no pun intended, I like descriptiveness ^^))

Elcia was a little concerned that Roland might still be quietly steaming but she wanted to quiet things. It was no good arguing with one's hosts and there was no need endangering them all over harsh words. She hoped the mercenary would come to understand her foresight in getting a good look at where they where staying and who they where staying with.
