"I'm pretty sure Van would be able change her mind. The man's charisma score is through the roof, not to mention the bonus he gets just talking to Mala." Riley said folding his arms with a nod.
"Talking's not going to kill you." Van said. "And you know you're going to have to deal with her sooner or later, why not get it over with?" he said starting to nudge her back out the door back toward Riley and Marianne.

Mala sighed. "FINE. But if this all ends up as horribly as I suspect it will, don't say I didn't tell you so!" she snapped, grumpilly going on out to talk things over with her mother. Nobody ever said she had to be happy about it, though.

"That was easier than I thought it'd be." Riley said as Van came to stand next to him while the women talked.
"High charisma score, remember?" Van said with a shrug.

Mala and Marianne walked a short distance away from the two boys, and began to discuss things where they couldn't hear enough to piece anything together. Their body language, however, indicated a pissed off Mala and an apologetic Marianne. After listening to Marianne's full story, Mala seemed just as angry, and ended up storming off past the two men and was heading towards her room.
Marianne approached Van and Riley, sighing deeply. "I knew she wouldn't take any of it well."

"She can nuke a small village if she wanted, I call it a success that you aren't a smoldering pile of ashes right now." Van snarked.

"With her temper, the best I can hope for is to remain dead to her or for her to kill me in a fit of rage." Marianne sighed deeply. "Is she this tempermental towards you?"

"Only when she's in a bad mood because something's got her upset, but you also have to remember that she's nearly four months pregnant and a tad hormonal right now." Van said folding his arms. "As for Riley, he can do no wrong in her eyes."

"I doubt she will, but can one of you go calm her down? She doesn't need this kind of stress in her current condition." Marianne asked, looking quite bummed that her daughter wouldn't even consider forgiving her for everything that's happened. She looked over to Riley and asked, "How were you able to get that sort of mental status with her?"

"After you left, Mala was the only one around to take care of me, so I think it's some overprotective mother/sister complex she developed." Riley said while Van went to calm Mala down.
((Off to enjoy anime now.))

"That...explains alot." Marianne muttered softly to herself.
Mala was hugging one of the pillows close to her chest as she layed there atop the bed, clearly tense and resisting all urges to set something on fire. That woman, that Marianne, just made her so furious! Why did she have to associate with her to begin with?!

"I think you're five hundred years too old to be hating your parents." Van joked as he walked in the room and sat on the edge of the bed.
((I'm somewhat amused how unmoved Marianne is about her beloved son marrying a vampire. XD))

{I've been spazzing out again, haven't I? crying }
Marianne offered her son another hug, although she expected to be pushed away again. "Thank you for not being so hostile after all these years."
Mala glanced up at Van, hugging onto the pillow even tighter after hearing what he had said. "I love you, but that woman's going to remain dead to me no matter what you have to say about it."

((No, no, not your fault. I'm just saying is all. XD *pats head*))
"I have almost zero memory of way back when you left, so I didn't take it quite as hard as Mala did. Not to mention you had your reasons for the attempted kidnapping thing, and actually counted on Van to kick the demon's a** in the end anyway." Riley said with a smile after he returned his mother's hug.
"I know, I know....I tried, failed, and not saying another word on the matter." Van said holding his hands up innocently.
((And I wish you could be here for anime club. We laughed at stupidity and over drama, we cried at the touching final episodes of Angel Beats, and we saw what could only be described as the most epic death faces ever seen in the history of anime. Seriously, there are just no words. XD ))

{Okai. >.< Lol, same here. Unfortunately, tomorrow and day after I've got funeral stuffs instead. Also, my school doesn't have an anime club - which really sucks. If it did, I'd join for sure and hope for the best. Lol, epic death faces? What anime were they in?}
Marianne smiled, tears actually welling up in her eyes. She could hardly believe what wonderful news she was hearing, and tightened her grip slightly around Riley. "You're such a good boy. I wish I could've been there to see you grow up, I really do..."
"Thank you." Mala said, rolling over to lay on her back now and to stare up at the ceiling. "I'll never do what she did to me to our precious baby. I'll be the loving mother she never was for me."

((Funeral stuffs?? Oh noes! Who died? D: And it was the final episode of one Viper's Creed. Lame futuristic mech-y show. Much mocking was done throughout the series. =D Like after one eyepatch-clad guy got his working eye screwed up: "Wait, why is his eyepatch bandaged?" and when a resident pretty boy comes to the rescue with a BFG. "Nice pose there, dude.""Hey, with a gun like that, you've got to pose."))
"I'd try to convince her to cut you some slack, but Mala is not one to let go of grudges very easily." Riley said with a sigh. "Especially since their kid should be allowed to know their sole living grandparent." he said, meaning no offense to his mother at all, though it could be taken that way.
"And I'll try to be the dad that you missed out on." Van said with a smile as he placed a hand on her tummy.
