"I dunno. I blame school. All those other bratty kids are rubbing off on her." Amaya muttered, going to dry her hair now. It took a few minutes and then she brushed it out, seeming content after that.

"She only cares about mutates yet the kids are rubbing off on her." Adrian thought aloud with a sigh and pulled on his coat. "She's too young to be having mood swings and hanging out with the wrong crowd. I didn't think there was even a 'wrong crowd' in grade school."

"Bratty kids are the wrong crowd." Amaya muttered. "We still have a few hours, you don't need to put your coat on just yet." She told him as she walked over.

"Force of habit I guess." Adrian said with a sheepish chuckle as he removed his coat. "Lately it's been 'get dressed and go' so...." he trailed off and stretched his wings a bit.

"Well, we still have a bit of down time. I just got ready faster than usual." She said, kissing his cheek lightly before she walked out of the room to go check her email.

"And not a thing on tv that isn't Christmas related." Adrian said as he followed her out. "So how many pieces of fan mail do you think you got wishing you a merry Christmas?" he half joked.

"Quite a bit apparently." Amaya sighed, opening up her email to see several hundred new emails. "God! I'm never going to get all these answered!" She moaned, laying her head on the desk in frustration.

"Want some help with those?" Adrian said with a small chuckle. "We could work in shifts."

"Can't type very well for the next week." Amaya reminded him, wiggling her fingers on her arm that was in a sling. "So unless you want to spend hours writing everything I dictate to you, then no, we probably shouldn't work in shifts since I should probably still answer these myself." Amaya sighed, shaking her head a little.

"I don't mind doing the typing while you dictate." Adrian said with a small smile. "I don't feel like watching you struggle to type for hours on end."

"You sure? These emails get mind numbing after the first fifty." Amaya said, almost sounding like she was just trying to talk him out of it so she wouldn't feel obligated to do it at all then.

"Amaya. Break time." Adrian said pressing his forehead against hers. "Use it before I tie you down and make you take it easy."

"Answering emails is hardly break time..." Amaya grumbled, taking a seat next to the computer as she pouted a little.
"But mommy, you said that answering people who write you was like a job, and you said my homework was my job. So shouldn't you do it?" Calista asked, having been listening to their conversation from the couch.

"Maybe not, but dictating while I type is certainly break time for your hands." Adrian pointed out. "And I think your seven year old daughter just beat you with your own logic."

"Yeah yeah. You know, it's times like this that I really wish you were three again so you didn't have such a developed sense of logic or fairness." Amaya muttered, casting Calista a look before she sighed and ran her free hand through her hair. "Fine, then start typing." She told Adrian, nodding to the empty seat at the computer chair.
