Well, tri-dimentional character helps make a story more interesting and usually grabs the audience's empathy. It is usually built by building the physiology, sociology, and psychology of a character you want to make. Edit- ^w^ It also helps you to understand the character even more. Erm...you see, I only do one thing with characters. I spend lots and lots of time thinking them out and thinking out scenarios. My absolute favorite character of mine that I have I have spent two years on pretty much. I've constantly been adding to her, changing bits of her past, adjusting her personality, deciding how she changes over time... I really can't tell you.

Posture. 6. Appearance: good looking, over- or underweight, clean neat pleasant, untidy. Shape of head, face, limbs. 7. Defects: deformalities, abnormalities, birthmarks. Diseases. 8. I don't think we're all going to have the same black and white fabrics.
