Rahmi | He/Him | HRW
Relief had washed over him at seeing the healer with stretcher in hand came over. He made such quick work of helping stabilize Tizenia. Rahmi was stunned but readily jumped up to assist in helping the red haired medic, Maddeck he thought he heard, move Tizzy off the Sands so she could be safe and looked after. Once certain she was settled, the lanky teen slowly made his way back toward where he had been standing with Ionan and Rhiyn, absently swatting the dust and sand from his robes, trying to make sure he got as much of his friend's blood off of his hands as he could manage, which he had mixed success with seeing how dirty his robes were getting. He paused his walking, gasping softly in surprise at the newest addition to the sands. A tiny little white dragonet! Whoa!
Now that he wasn't having to worry over his friend living, he was actually able to look around and fully take in the scene. There were so many babies around! Blues, greens, that little white, a few browns. OH! The wee white seemed to know exactly where Hers was and impressed! A shaken as he was, the sight was enough to draw the boy into a big grin. How wonderful! A happy match! He slowly caught up with his friends again. "Ionan, did you see that? Wow!"

So much happened in such a short period of time that Shar, for once in her life, was starting to feel overwhelmed. There were so many babies on the sands that it was impossible to keep track of all of them. Some were Impressing, yes, but for every one that did two more eggs started to crack or shattered completely. There were even at least ten more eggs that she'd never seen before cracking and hatching as well! The grip on Riz's arm was to keep him upright, but now it was turning in to a way to ground herself. If she hadn't been hurt perhaps it wouldn't have been so much, but the pain in her legs and her back and a few stinging slices on her arms she had just noticed was starting to get to her.
And then Riz was pulled away from her, the shock making her unable to say or do anything to protest. In her heart of hearts she knew it was for the best, that Riz needed medical attention, but she knew the frustration and failure her friend would feel in leaving behind his friends.
For a moment the sands didn't matter. For a moment, the insanity behind her of Candidates punching eggs and riling up the queen of the clutch filtered out of her focus. Before her stood three girls, all of whom looked just as startled as she felt in having Riz literally carried off, but it was in that moment that she found her focus once more. Three fresh faces, three Candidates that were completely or fairly new to Standing...and the one person they had all looked to for protection had done the best he could do.
"Riz'll be fine," she said to the gathered girls, ignoring the pain as she stepped into the role she played so well. This was her element and it helped her focus herself on what needed to be done. A rough bump from behind from a playful blue made her realize they weren't out of danger just yet, and she turned to face the dragons once more, standing on the bloody sands were Riz had been moments ago, her small but powerful body between the three and the dragons.
"I know this is overwhelming, but keep thinking good thoughts. There's lots of dragons right now, just pick one that seems to match your energy to send thoughts to it. It might not be Yours but it's better than doing something idiotic like the one that punched that poor egg." Shards, some people were stupid.
"We'll get through it," she added, glancing over her shoulder at Zamistia, Nalacko, and Cavera to give them a little reassuring smile. "If you feel like it you can come stand beside me too. Don't feel like you have to stay behind me." Although things were a little rough still she didn't want to shield the girls from potentially meeting Theirs.

Talis and Holleth Talis passed a sweeping glance over the feeding tables when she and Holleth arrived, and without any deliberation at all chose a seat that put them at least a few places away from anyone else - just close enough that it shouldn't seem a snub, or deliberately antisocial, but enough for a comfortable bubble for herself and her blue that would, ideally, give them a bit of time to settle themselves after...everything. Outwardly, each was the picture of calm, with the only indication that anything at all had happened the blood on Talis' robes. And her hands. With the tiniest of frowns, she wiped them on a section of robe that was still white, and stifled the slight tremor that wanted to set in now that the rush of adrenaline had ebbed.
Holleth sat primly up on his haunches, forepaws resting lightly against her thigh, more for balance and out of a desire for closeness than pressing any weight on her. For he did want to be close, and she was the one person in all the world he could say that about unabashedly, but now was not the time. There were appearances to maintain, and many eyes here. No shortage of them belonging to his glittering bronze cousins and brothers; he couldn't help but notice that he was the only blue yet Impressed from all his family today. Hm. He held his head perhaps a little higher and flared his wings just so, but to all appearances, his focus remained on His as he delicately accepted the pieces of meat she offered. They said little, in those moments. They didn't need to.

The little Mystery Green from the Coral and Pink egg seemed to be all but bounding between the candidates, warbling a little song to herself as she went. She bounced as she walked, rather than walking simply. Her delight was clear, eyes whirling in delight as she tried to look around. What was she looking for again? Oh yes....She was searching for Hers wasn't she? So many things going on, like dragonets flying and little whites who were just oh so sweet meeting Theirs....How could she concentrate on only one thing! Perhaps....She was missing something? With another warble of a tune, the Green went back to bouncing her way through the others until. Oh....She knew that feeling...that mind. Oh yes! That was who she was looking for, wasn't it?
In a flash, the little green came to a stop in front of Veltanna, warbling yet another pretty little song of a trill, her eyes whirling rainbow, My Veltanna~ Your Moirath is sorry it took a bit to get here, but there was so terribly much to see and do! Might we go do more things?

Mystery Green Two The little green dragon trotted up to Veltanna and gave a happy little cheep. Play? She reached out to tug on the others rob, giving it a little pull--not in a fierce way, but hoping to instigate a game. She seemed too sad. Why be sad when this was a happy day??
Mystery Blue Three: The dragon continued to strut through the throng of Candidates. Hey now... Why wasn't he being admired? Why wasn't he being looked at? He was supposed to be the crowning achievement of this clutch, wasn't he? But nobody seemed interested or excited! Nobody...seemed.... to know WHO had just arrived! HOW RUDE!
He spread his wings and gave a loud bugle! Maybe that would give them something to look at! This was HIS show!
Strutting around, the blue dragon made his way pointedly up to Krahsujunth, not at all afraid. He gave a little snort, and then stood on his hind-legs and tried to bat at the larger blue. Hey now. He needed something! MORE ATTENTION!
Up! Up! NOW!
Remember Me Egg: The blue egg gave a little bit of a wriggle....and then stopped.
Perfect Isn't Easy: The large purple and heart spotted egg a twitch and a shift. Perhaps now it was time? The egg trembled, and with a jerk, there was a sudden loud crack from the big egg. Oh yes! This egg was ready to makes its entrance!
Mystery Blue 4 The blue dragon moved quietly among the Candidates. He paused now and then to turn and give a peculiar look at some of his siblings. Really now... So loud, so exuberant, so gauche. He gave a flick of his long tail, and delicately moved throughout the Candidates. There was no stumbling or falling; self-assurance seemed to ooze off the blue, and the way he walked easily drew the eye.
He was certainly a thing of beauty, something to be admired, and he knew it. Still, he knew why he was here... and what he was searching for. If he caught the eye of any Candidates, his stare would be strangely intense and difficult to break. He wanted to be stared at, after all... Was he not a thing of beauty?
Mystery Green 5 The green dragon was quick to get her feet. Like the blue on the sands, she moved gracefully. As she walked about the sands, it was almost as if she were floating. Her feet were delicate, her wings, partially-spread, were lovely as they dried; she was a real beauty, a real gem, and it all came so naturally.

Zeraiah
Zeraiah gimped as fast as he could, trying not to crush Zyanzi as much as possible. He wasn't heavily built or thickly muscled, but he wasn't light as a feather, either. It wouldn't be fair to make the other Candidate do all the work in, though, so Zeraiah kept as much of his own weight over his own feet as possible. Zyanzi wasn't a big guy, either, after all. Better for both of them this way.
"Right," he agreed, the strain of effort tightening his voice. "The sooner the better. Might be a dragon out there that needs us." Hey, optimism in the face of the trauma of the day couldn't hurt, right? "Thanks for this. I mean it I'll make it up to you. Somehow."

HAVELI
There had been a white to hatch and Haveli watched with faint interest, having made mention before to someone that whites weren't even worth her time. High Reaches treated white riders with a level of contempt she would never allow herself to have, and they could hardly help her in what she needed. One of them wouldn't be good for Arlie either, she decided, and was about to turn away and look for her sister when the white moved. It was moving with purpose that told Haveli it was going to Impress and so she watched, curious to see who would be unlucky enough to get saddled with an early burden. The dragonet moved and she watched and then - her heart froze inside her chest at the sight of rainbow eyes.
In front of Arlie.
In front of the one person she'd hoped would not Impress white, so maybe secretly deep down Haveli hoped would never Impress. If Arlie never did they could stay together, where Haveli could keep her safe and sound from whomever or whatever would try to harm her. With those rainbow eyes looking at her, with a dragonet now calling her sister 'mine', Haveli couldn't do anything for her anymore.
The one and only person she loved on Pern had just been taken away from her.
A single tear slid down her face, and she wasn't sure if it was from the sadness of the loss that was to come or the rage at being, for once, truly abandoned.

The joy on the sands was palpable. Calla watched with added curiosity as a tiny white hatched. Of course she had seen white dragons around the Weyr before, but they were less common so seeing one as an ambling baby, a very pretty one at that, kept the girl's eye trailing after it, all the way to its Impression. And one blue dragonet was seeking attention from His blue father. It pinged something in Calla that she pushed down. There were other attractive dragons about -- really, weren't they all? Her eyes bounced from dragonet to dragonet, waiting to feel something. Wasn't she supposed to feel something?
The pace of Impressions had picked up, and it felt like a swell now -- the happy little babies finding Theirs all across the Sands. Calla felt a bit like she was standing in a room full of couples at the moment when it becomes a new Turn, all turning to kiss one another as she stood to the side, alone. Well, this feeling certainly wouldn't do.
Clearing her throat, she reminded herself why she was here, the risks she had taken, the purpose that had brought her away from her life at the Hold and to this untrodden path at the Weyr. Determination was a thing central to her, and ambition, and once she decided on something, it was hard to deter her. This was a path she had chosen, and this was the way to get what she wanted. She just had to wait and swallow down any misgivings. Was that what her father had done?
Well, her father had stood for many Turns of Impressions before finally meeting His. Calla wanted to cling to that same idealism, but she found herself less patient.
