Perhaps a bit off-kilter from his battle against the wind, when a clump gusted at what was probably just out of reach, Hyglath flamed at it regardless...and burned it to ash! Pride surged in the bronze, and Herg'r thumped him on the neck. Good one!

The sudden intrusion of such a plaintive, sorrowful thought from one of her sweetest daughters caught Uridith off guard. Why you were born a green...? Had someone said something to her precious star? Made her sad? The gold flew with slightly more vigor after a clump, imagining Lestenna’s flame was her own, and the threat whatever cad had apparently upset her daughter.
Oh my sweet one. There is nothing wrong with being green, nor with you being who you are. She let her love pour into her words, as certain in these things as she was that tomorrow the sun would rise again. You would not be you, were you any other way. Being green let you have your Dr’stan. If you were gold, he would have been lost to you, and still alone. You are so very brave my little one, so please be just a little braver now and trust that I could not have made you any more perfect than you are already. This was a tough fall, with the wind as bad as it was, and some of them were clearly beginning to struggle. Dobrokhoth couldn't fix that, but he trumpeted out support. He was here!

My, but there really wasn't a lot going on. Though Olliah tried to focus on Thread, tried to keep her head in the game, she found her thoughts straying. Perhaps it was the fondness she felt from her Queen when the dragon thought of a certain blue. Perhaps it was the knowledge that the Queen wanted nothing more than to return to the Weyr and fuss over Krahsujunth....
It had to be nice to have someone to return to the Weyr to. Had to be nice to have someone wanting you to fight well just so they might see you again. Hold you. Kiss you. Might be nice to have someone to dress up for, someone to admire....
She'd had that once. And though it pained her, the heart was a fickle beast, that wanted what it wanted -- even if it was no good. Even if it caused nothing but pain. There were things about K'ienn that had been good...It hadn't been all bad. The man had been attractive, handsome, charming....and he fit a pair of wherhide pants better than ---
NO! The woman suddenly shook her head, even as Fianth gave a loud, disgusted snort. Focus, Mine! That creature isn't worth it.
. . . yes, well. Olliah gave a small shake of her head, and buried those thoughts. Sometimes, Threadfall was too quiet.

Oh no. He had noticed! Cynosuth greyed a little, trying desperately to keep her secret from Aresoth. It didn't matter how she felt. She knew very, very well that she was nothing more to him than a small sister to protect. At best, simply a Green. I... I'm fine, Aresoth. No one has done anything. It. It's fine. Oh, why had he had to notice now of all times?
And then that blessed, dear voice spoke up, and Cynosuth felt a rush of relief. Menankith! Of course Mine would not mind helping you! Just let me tell him. So saying, she caught Dr'stan's attention. Menankith needs to be tended. He is a little hurt, he says. Do you mind checking him? she asked, not quite able to tear herself away from Aresoth.
If only he knew what was in her hearts. Ah, but that wouldn't have changed a thing. And it was so much better that he did not know. Then maybe she'd have a chance to... to not make such a desperate fool of herself. Mine is coming, she said, when the dragonhealer finished up working on his latest patient to come over to the small gathering.
"What seems to be the matter, Menankith?" Dr'stan asked, tucking his newly cleaned tools away for the moment, so that he could get a better look at the Brown.

Suuth roared triumphantly as he expelled another gout of flame at a nearby clump of thread. He also knew this streak of luck was too good to last, but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy it while it did.
15. The greens and blues don't seem to be having trouble sweeping up thread. Yeehaw! This isn't so bad! [+3 Agility]

Quickly enough the Thread closed in around them again. Ly'bur and Hinburath worked hard to flame the Thread and reduce it for the wings below. He fed the dragon a couple small pieces of firestone in order to spare his sore tongue. Quick, there goes some! He called out to the brown who turned toward the falling sheet and sent it up into flame.

Thank you, sister! Menankith sent back with gratitude, blissfully oblivious to any interruption he might or might not be providing. I do not think it is anything to be concerned about, so I am sure he will be back to his other patients soon.
"The wind is the matter," Nadry complained dryly, and nudged at Menankith. The brown, who had given a happy thrum when Dr'stan appeared, very obligingly posed himself so that he could be suitably examined (if that also happened to be conducive to admiration, well, he had no idea, really). When he spread his wings, the left one twinged in protest, and gray briefly flecked his eyes. He didn't mind the score at the tip of it so much, but that pulled muscle was something else! He'd also taken hits to his left shoulder and right hind leg, but surely they weren't that bad. "He wrenched his wing again, and Thread blew right into us a few times."
He turned to present all of what His considered to be the 'problem' areas for inspection, then stilled when she fussed at his neck straps and peered at the slightly older wound running beneath them. "And he swears this doesn't bother him, but I know it has to."

Hinburath had to work his wings firmly against the willful wind. It liked to try throwing the larger dragons around, and was certainly occasionally tossing the smaller greens and blues around. Which during Threadfall was dangerous! He sent another patch up in flames and took a moment to glance around. Nearby he noticed a bronze dealing with a particularly nasty gust of wind. It was sending them straight toward some Thread.
Zeath! Watch out! The brown called his warning as he twisted in the air and brought his flame to bare upon the silver menace. It went up in flames without harming the pair. Good save, Ly'bur congratulated him proudly. Hinburath rumbled appreciatively and returned to his spot in the wing.

You are able to twist and accurately flame down the clump they were going to fly into, saving them from Threadscore! Quote a Wingmate that took Threadfall Damage and nullify it! You saved them from the pain! +1 Flame Length 3. 4. 5.

Wind or no, Dobrokhoth was still feeling pretty good himself - if anything, he was just getting started! And so when a tangle of Thread fell through from the higher wings and threatened one of their comrades, the brown twisted and flamed, burning away the silver but leaving their wingmate unsinged.

He let saving the bronze perhaps go to his head a bit as he tried to flame the next clump that presented itself. Instead of flaming the thread all he did was let off some hot air. Ooops, missed. He ducked his head with a bit of chagrin. Focus Hinburath! Next time he might be saving you. Ly'bur couldn't blame the brown though and let it go with that. They would do better and hope their wingleader didn't notice.
