YURASTAR

It was with a wheeze and a sandy cough that Yurastar managed to get back to his feet, his breathing still shallow and rapid from the sudden weight gain and sudden weight loss of two dragonets The pain in his side was gone and he was thankful for that, quite surprised to find maybe he would only be bruised rather than broken. He was rather sturdy after all after turns and turns of accidents, and he wasn't even remotely mad to have been toppled on. The babies had been friendly and meant no harm, so they got a wave as they ran off. "Cute kids, really."

It looked as though he'd missed some impressions and some hatchings while he pressed down but that was okay. Everyone looked happy and healthy and that was what mattered. He was thinking about something else when he tripped over his own broken sandal again, dropping down just in time to hear someone talk to him. "Not so bad. I'm a lot thicker than I look."

SOUI

The wriggling of a certain egg caught Soui's attention, if only because she had a very fond memory of that specific encounter. It had been one of her first and....the dragonet had sang to her. Or tried to sing but either way it was a memory she treasured, one that had been pleasant among a few others that had the hatching weigh mixed in her mind. Plus there was a promise she'd made, to hug the dragonet once it'd hatched as a way of saying thank you. Perhaps once it was properly Impressed she could introduce herself again and actually keep the promise, so long as it remembered her and wasn't too bothered by it.

Plus there was such a lovely white, and she was so happy to see one! Whites were small and lovely, and then the blue wanting to climb up! The hatching had gone from sad back to happy and that was wonderful.

Krahsujunth shifted his red gaze from the candidates to slooowly peer down at little Mystery Blue Three. Well now. So demanding. Had the hatchling been an adult, this sort of approach would have potentially gone very sour.

As things were though, this was such a little blue. And he was so terribly in love with all these hatchlings here. A huge whuff of air (little more than a snort for the big blue, but a proper GALE in the face of the hatchling) puffed around the hatchling, catching his wings and parachuting them out. Now, Krahsujunth had seen something like this before, and he could imagine what the hatchling wanted.

Ever so slowly his chin hit the sandy turf, an easy step or two up for the blue...and any other hatchlings nearby who sought to take advantage of the opportunity. After all, they would only be this little for a little while longer.

There was a Green....That had just hatched, and all Gryffindor was able to do was stare with blue and purple eyes. He slowly moved to the elegant, lovelyy thing and crooned sweetly to her, Hello lovely one~ Perhaps you would like an escort about these sands? I would be all too happy to provide, for you are the most lovely! I do not think I could ever see your equal~

Perfect Isn't Easy Egg
A few more wobbles, a few more shakes, and the egg cracked in two. It took a moment....but out came a delicate green leg. Step by delicate step, the green made her entrance, kicking her useless shell away so it didn't steal the scene. Her neck was arched, her wings open just so.... See world? This was what you were missing, wasn't it?

This was....

Hey wait a minute. Where were her adoring fans? Where were all the Candidate? Why did they look so...so..ragged!? And most importantly, who was that green and WHY was that bronze cooing over her!?!

Her eyes flashed red. Then.... Then a brown approached.

HOW DARE THEY!

Puffing up, the green gave a loud and ugly hiss. Excuse me, boys... But you're looking the wrong way. She spoke with as much tenderness as she could convey and yet... She was right here! Whoever that ugly, fat, green, wher was could get off HER sands immediately. This was HER moment. She would not be out done!

Karone
The Slytherin bronze had made his choice, leaving those who’d assembled to mill about or return to their former positions. Karone was one who remained, keeping himself distracted by the sudden blitz of infant movements and Impressions. A few beautiful greens, a brown, and even a white. His eyes burned with unshed tears as he tried not to picture his brother’s face, and tried not to dread the fact that he might be left alone on the sands again. It was hard enough when Le’x had found Kratoth.

Farinalgo
Farin, too, stood close to where the pouty bronze had lain in wait for his lifemate to approach. He was exhausted from all the peril and emotion, and it being the wee hours of the night—or was it morning, now? Thank Faranth things had quieted down for a while. He watched the hatchlings all but pour out from their shells in droves, the tiredness actually pushing out many of the stressful memories from the night and making him relax enough to grin at their playful antics.

Some blues had also come forth. Recalling the bet he’d made with Niika, he looked them both over well, wondering if one might be for him. It made him feel oddly guilty, somehow. Perhaps it was because they’d always been told not to fixate on any one color, or any one egg.

...

Who were these pretenders? Amortentia gave a huff, turning imploring eyes upon Imperio. Surely he was not going to fall for that? Was he?

A hint of grey entered her lovely violet blue eyes, and she peered at her brothers as they broke her hearts all to pieces.

Halvor

His head tilted fully to the side as he watched what appeared to be . . . courting? Was that what was happening on the sands. Then another little green appeared and seemed to be quite upset that she wasn't getting the same attention. Then, off to the side a baby blue was having a ball. What was even happening on the sands anymore?

Halvor shrugged his shoulders. Maybe now he should focus on the other candidates. His gray eyes snagged on the others around him. Who to talk to though. . .

Mystery Six Green, for her part, seemed oblivious to the drama unfolding between the greens on the sands. She was focused on bippin' and boppin' and rolling and scooting towards the candidates. Yeah!!

Well wasn't that a sight to be seen? Watching their brothers tripping over themselves over the graceful green certainly stirred something in Imperio.....

But nothing that would move him from next to Amortentia, leaning over to nudge her cheek with a creel.

Jemi

Well she sort of stuck her foot in her mouth there. She would have to apologize to him later. Maybe with beer or something depending on if he impressed or not... ehh. She had time to figure it out. Later. Right now there was hatchlings.

All over the place.

And a lot of them. She wasn't sure about Whren being away from her, but he was smart and clever and fast and he would be okay. Jemi knew she would be okay.

Had to.

Impression Post - Veltanna

Her head was down but her eyes were screwed shut against the tears and her ears were ringing with her own thoughts. So she missed the approach of a little bouncing green. It was only barely that she heard the words spoken to her. My Veltanna~ Your Moirath is sorry it took a bit to get here, but there was so terribly much to see and do! Might we go do more things?

What had she done now? Who was yelling at her now…Mine? Did you hear me? The cheerful voice was back. Yes, she had heard….wait…what? Opening her eyes she could see a green blur through thick tears. Confusion weighed heavy on her mind and Veltanna couldn’t comprehend what was going on. Mine? The voice was more hesitant this time, less sure in her welcome.

Moirath moved closer and stood up to lean on Veltanna reaching as high as she could. The tiny dragon let her weight rest on the girl. I want you. And I’m not sharing! Veltanna reached up to steady the dragon gently and tried blink back tears. But if you would rather not have me…?

“Me?” Me, who just nearly killed your sibling…me, who can’t listen to simple instructions…me, who is…way too caught up in the past? You, who tried to help even though you didn’t know how. You who cares. You. Rainbow eyes were still trained on Veltanna. Moirath leaned her head on Veltanna. Hers hadn’t rejected her yet. Her’s just needed some more time to process. Three seconds should do it. One. Two. Three. Shall we go eat? Please? I am hungry.

Three seconds did do it. She might have started out slow on the uptake but Veltanna finally caught up. “Yes. I am sure you are.” Hands now scrubbed away tears and bemusement replaced despair as she watched this tiny dragon bounce away and as the cheerfulness oozed through her joining the two together forever.

There was another green there. Smiling she told her, “thank you for checking on me. I am doing much better. Maybe you could find your’s and help them as well?” Then she was moving. Quickly, Veltanna caught up physically with her (HER!) dragon and they moved together the rest of the way to the feeding tables.

Green Mystery
The green dragon looked first at Expelliarmus and then at Gryffindor, and ducked her head a bit coyly. She reached out to ever so gently touch the bronze with her snoot, but used her tail to caress the handsome brown.

Oh, you are both too sweet. Perhaps you might both accompany me then? I am rather new out of the shell. She spoke gently, affectionately. If her eyes caught sight of Perfect Isn't Easy, she let them drift over her.

That green was clearly trying too hard. Pity she wasn't a natural. As for Amortentia, well... Her green sister clearly had to contrive to get boys to look at her. So sad.

Solameya | She/Her | HRW

A couple of greens impressed, and a little white! The 'without incident' part was particularly pleasing. Solameya watched curiously at the baby dragonet love...square? Love pentagon? Two boys were making eyes at one of the greens, another was taking offense, and poor little Amortentia seemed to get upset too. She was glad to see the Imperio brown hanging in there by his sweet sister though, especially with how rough a time she had earlier. 'You don't have anything to worry over. Don't let their antics get you down.'

Oh, she raised a brow. Seems like the green was going to give the boys a little attention, though the glance toward her sisters was...something else.

Talis and Holleth
Though the rest of the activity that had ensued since they'd helped Lauthisen to the Healers had been ignored, there was now movement on the Sands that caught Holleth's eye and gave him a pause that would be imperceptible to any but His, as he missed only half a beat before resuming his meal...but regarding Krahsujunth out of the corner of his eye as his father laid his head down on the sand to be climbed upon. Whatever he thought of it, however he felt about it - for surely no edge or yellow or purple flashed through his eyes - he quickly tilted his chin up with a soft sniff and returned his focus to his rider, where it belonged.

Talis, too, kept her eyes mostly on Hers, though she did take note of each new weyrling as they arrived. Most were strangers, others passingly familiar at best, though the boy carrying his rather small and green-ish bronze received a touch more interest: partly recognition, and partly simple curiosity as to whether the hatchling was injured or simply enjoyed being carried around.

Gryffindor crooned at her, leaning in to her tail. He spared only a glance for Perfect, and another more pained one for Amortentia before he let out a soft hwonk, Yes, Yes I would love to walk you about the sands....

----------

The Mystery Brown from the Dark Purple Egg rolled his eyes at the antics of the girls, huffing loudly to himself and letting out a hiss of displeasure. His wings mantled around himself as he started to wander through Candidates. He had something to do, someone to find. He wasn't going to chase after any pretty greens yet.
