Joey let out an "Omph" as Lucian tackled him for the second time that day. He sat in the sand, momentarily out of breath. "I...can stay...here for...a while?" He looked amazed, then it was replaced by his normal blank face. "I...I will think about it." He glanced over and was surprised to see another human girl. "Yea, I'm THAT boy. And regardless of your parent's arguments, they tried to lynch me. I got away, but, nevertheless, they tried." He let out a breath of air as Lucian shifted his weight on him. "I flipped you over once, I can do it again." He opened his mind again.

Joshua looked up from the fish surrounding him. A huge grin was plastered on his face. "Definitely having fun!" There were few places that he was happier than in the water. Having the sea folk around just made it even better. Right now, he couldn't think of anywhere he'd rather be. He laughed as more species of the colorful coral fish joined the school. "There's so many!"

Katalina watched the general insanity of their crew with amusement. Flicking her tail, she drifted closer to Joshua, looking at him intently for several long moments. "You really do like it here in the water, don't you?" she murmured at last. It was clear that she was considering something she hadn't really thought about before.

Joshua looked surprised that Katalina would even ask that. "I love the water. Land is....land, I suppose." He couldn't really find a word to describe what he thought of it. He tried again. "To me, land is like, a resting place. Like a nest. You go back to it only when you have to." He shrugged. "The water is easier to deal with." Joshua brushed some of the fish with his fingers. His smile was gentle. "Besides, fish don't have nearly as many problems as most humans think they do."

Katalina closed a hand around one of the smaller fish. She nodded wearily at Joshua's answer. "It makes sense," she said. "I'll probably feel the same way about land once I finally get the chance to try a human shape."
She opened her fingers again to let the fish escape, and added, "If you really want to meet other sea creatures, Joshua, I know some that I could introduce you to."
It was a risky proposition, but she thought Joshua would be able to handle it.

Katalina now had Joshua's undivided attention. "Really?" His voice betrayed his eagerness. "Now? Or do I have to wait?" The fish around them were all but forgotten. They were amazing and all, but to be able to talk to others who lived in the sea. That was what he really wanted. To Joshua, this off was like offering to take a kid to the candy store.

Lucian poked out his bottom lip and ran his finger up and down Joey’s chest. ‘But I don’t want to get off….or flipped over again.’ He pouted and then glanced up. It was the girl who had shiny things. Lucian’s attention momentarily got all giddy at the thought of shiny things. His eyes were sparkling while his thoughts blossomed to more pretty things in his caves. He looked back down at Joey then leaned over him, a grin appearing on his face. Lucian leaned closer still until his lips were pressed against Joey’s neck. He then nipped his neck and sat straight back up.

Katalina's face betrayed her doubts about her offer. But she nodded. "Yeah." She shrugged. "We can go whenever you're ready. But Joshua, don't think that all of them will be like Lucian or me. Some of them aren't...aren't very nice to humans," she finished awkwardly. "They have to be careful, you know. We all do."

Joshua shrugged. "I don't expect them to all be super nice. I just want the chance to talk to them. If I get killed," He shrugged once more. "My own fault. Besides," He smiled. "Maybe if they meet one human who doesn't want to hurt them, they might change their minds. I've even got two seafolk to vouch for me." Joshua's smile became a full-blown grin.

Katalina's smile was very faint. "Well, then. So be it," she said quietly. "What time is best?" She took a close look at his hopeful face and added, "Aside from right now?"
She was running through the names of her acquaintances in her mind, trying to list them from most likely to accept Joshua to least. Perhaps...Yes, she'd start with him. Big and scary, but kindly enough.

Joey stared at Lucian. "Did...did you just BITE me?!?! What the..." He sighed. "How did I taste?" He tried to suppress a grin, but failed. "Like lost friends and missing parents?"

Lucian smirked then laid on Joey’s chest, listening to his heart beat. ‘I had better…’ He continued to lay there and got comfortable. Joey was a cute guy…just like Joshua. They were so innocent that he practically wanted to take them as his treasures. He laughed slightly to himself at the thought. Then Lucian was confused at what Joey said but didn't say anything. He just listened and waited for him to say something again.

Joey sat there, confused by his own words. He sighed, wondering where he spit it from. He glanced down at Joey. "Jeez...first a chew-toy, now a pillow? What else am I going to be used for by you?"

Lucian looked up and smiled, ‘Do you really want me to answer that…?’ His eyes where closed as the smile widened. He poked Joey’s nose then laid back down on his chest.

"No...not really..." He shivered and tried not to picture anything. He failed. Taking his mind off of the...previous images, Joey looked down at Lucian. "Ok, I am a human. What are you?"
