Shar wasn't standing alone for long as Nala came to her side and she gave the girl a little nod of her head, glad she had come out from behind her. Sometimes it took an act of great bravery to draw a dragon to you and for the three behind her - well, two now - it would be a feat to stand face to face with the dragons.
But for one of the little group of girls, no heroics were needed. Shar watched as a chubby brown dragon waddled over to them, his nose nudging her legs aside to get to Zamistia. The rainbow eyes of Impression followed swiftly and Shar couldn't help but grin. Not long ago she could recall the young Candidate - now dragon rider - whimpering and trembling in the hallway outside of the sands. Now she was a brownrider, one that would fly against Thread without rest waves.
"Congratulations, Zamistia," she said softly, a fond tone to her voice. She hoped Rizdax could see that one of their little group had Impressed from his spot with the others being tended to by the healers.
Turning back to the dragons, she watched as some moved around the Candidates, some played, and some still hung back by the eggs they had hatched from. She was still in pain, but the warm thoughts from Fianth had helped stave it off and she sent out another encouraging touch to those still searching for Theirs as well as those that had yet to hatch.

Rahmi | He/Him | HRW
Rahmi was keenly watching the movement of the babies when the brush to his consciousness caught his attention. It startled him momentarily, causing him to spin on his spot looking for a source. Amortentia and Imperio were wanting a closer look! OH! Looking around briefly for his friends, Rahmi gently hooked an arm with Ionan and Rhiyn and starting walking closer to where the green and brown were sitting. "They're wanting to get a nicer look at people," He explained softly, a touch of a shrug tugging at his shoulders.
Stopping a respectful distance away, the teen gave an almost apologetic smile. "Please don't be sad...Sorry to keep you waiting," He said softly. It felt kinda weird addressing the babies verbally, directly, but he felt it had to be said. There was so much to keep track of, but he hated the idea of making one of the babies upset because they felt a bit ignored.
The gracious feeling seemed like a thank you of sorts. He had assisted, but theirs seemed to be elsewhere perhaps. "Good luck to you. Yours will be lucky to have you."

Keleres [WW] - 21 - she/her/hers - JM Masseuse (spy)
It had been quite the roller coaster experience, so far, Keleres thought to herself. She spared a wistful moment thinking about Western, and how uncomplicated that had seemed in comparison… then remembered that all hatchings came bundled with their fair share of accidents and incidents. Newborn hungry hatchlings and frightened candidates was never a great combination. Add fiery personalities into the mix and things were bound to go up in flames… metaphorically of course. The idea that a newborn could flame was positively terrifying.
The egg-punching incident draw a quiet gasp from her, and she wilted a little in the face of Fianth and Krah’s anger. It was normal, of course, to protect one’s children… but hadn’t the egg asked for help? Some candidates didn’t know how to do so without potentially bringing harm, it seemed...
Her heart had grown easier when her favourites had Impressed. She was glad to see that Colours of the Wind had found her calling, and that the Let It Go Blue had found the right rider to both reassure and buoy him. The greens who vied for attention brought a fond smile to Kel’s face- not out of endearment, but out of familiarity. Oh, knowing who to be to please people… that was such a fun game. It was addictive, thrilling, intoxicating...
But she had chosen candidacy to get away from the pull of the game, and so, with hesitant, shy steps, she followed Imperio’s lure and shifted closer to him and Amortentia. Not enough to disturb them- not enough to frighten them… but if they needed reassurance, she would be there. They were much beloved, all of them. Keleres’ heart was open, her mind filled with encouraging thoughts. You can do it. She tried to tell them, in the way only a fumbling, unpracticed mind could do.
Quote: open; Kel is drawn to Imperio and Amortentia for the time being, hoping they’ll Impress without incident.

Firebolt drew to a pause almost abruptly, watching the competition (if one could call it that, truly) between the greens with a cheep of amusement. Well what was this going on? With a stretch of her wings, she seemed to prance a few steps, not quite in mocking of the show, but some sort of amused attempt to participate for a few moments.
Someone is a little green with envy, she mused, though at the expense of who, was anybody's guess before she went running off with laughter trailing off behind her. She and You Can Fly had so much playing to do, after all!
Mystery Blue 8 had all but pushed the theatrics out of mind, pacing through the boys with an almost bored gait. This was an awful lot of walking, even knowing what the payoff was. Now, where were they? Shouldn't they have been waiting, knowing he was coming?
Blue and Whispy Mystery Egg Fifteen settled in the sand, then with a single THUMP the egg lurched in almost a hop.

arlie and smol alegriath
She needed to stop crying and just...couldn't. But she could taper down the noises as best she could, biting her lip and sniffling. Arlie must have looked like an ungrateful wretch, though even as the idea formed Alegriath soothed it away. "I-I'm s-sss-sorry," the girl burbled, clutching the dragonet tighter. For what? Everything, really.
Alegriath gently bumped her snout under Arlie's chin. I'm not going anywhere, she promised. Besides, you're hugging me tight enough that I couldn't try if I wanted to! It was the first of what would be many attempts at a joke to lighten things up. It helped...a little.
To be fair, she had been contending with Haveli, and, well.
Impressed or not, Arlie still looked to her sister for guidance on what to do. But that tone of voice...She was used to it, yes, but it wasn't what she had hoped for. She had hoped that maybe Haveli would be...She struggled to find the words. Proud? Happy? This seemed more like she had done something wrong. Or...Or maybe Haveli wouldn't show anything in public. That was fair. Emotion had never been a strong point of her sister's to begin with, so she was probably asking for too much. They could maybe have a moment later, when Arlie wasn't embarrassing the both--the three of them.
Now, now...I won't hear that anymore. Alegriath bumped her head against her again, her wings flapping slightly in a there there approximation on either side of the girl's face before curling closed.
After a few moments more, Arlie repeatedly wiped her face on her too large sleeve. "H-Her name's--Alegriath," she said to Haveli in stuttering and starting sniffles. "I-I hope you--you'll like her."
Thank you too, Mr. Gru, the white added as she peeked over Arlie's shoulder, the yellow in her eyes fading back to a shining blue and purple. I know she only just met you, but you were kind, and she's grateful. I hope we'll see you again.
Arlie waited a moment, as if to give Haveli a second chance to say something. Then she felt Alegriath's hunger begin to sink in, and she quickly began to move away towards the feeding table before the tears came back in full force once more.

This was... a little easier. Amortentia gave another creel as she peered first at one Candidate, then another. And another. Overwhelmed yet still hopeful, the little green looked up into each approaching face. Was this one hers? ... No. Was that one hers? ... No.
No.
No.
No.
No...
Oh!
Oh!
That was the one! CedarianMine, will you please come closer? You're so very far away and your Cythereath is so tired. Imperio had been so lovely and kind, so she leaned over and gave him an affectionate, fond lick. He was the best of brothers.
But Hers was, or would be, the best of riders. A rather arrogant looking, sharply beautiful young man... and so very perfect for the dragon herself. Do you love me as much as I love you? she asked, her tone slightly plaintive, and just this side of vulnerable.
