Elcia *shoves movie posters behind her back* My theory is that many ATGers out there are just swamped at the moment and will return to make the guild flow with life as soon as they can. *sets the posters on fire with his MIND BULLETS!!!* I'm not talking about this moment, or that moment, or one moment. I'm talkin' 'bout the whole year. I understand that people can be busy, but if someone takes the time to read for half an hour, why not spend one minute making a post. We aren't an IDD guild so there's not too much pressure either to write an essay. Moderators of guilds aren't paid by Gaia. Anyone can have good business practice and makes tons of money. *stares at a certain ATG member* I just got some ideas I need to keep secret. biggrin

Nobody's getting my hard earned gold... ninja Oh wait, I keep spending it on avi art, so I guess people are getting it. sweatdrop
If I could actually save up enough gold for a decent award and come up with a cool contest idea, I'd set one up. Alas, I have no good ideas, and I like to spend my gold on avi art. So, no contests from Thaliat. For now...
Granted, my guild does take a bit of my time too. So I split it mainly between the ATG and my guild...occasionally popping in the others I'm involved in, from time to time.
Maybe I'll do a contest for January...it gives me some time to plan and save.

No pressure. You aren't the only ATG member. Otherwise, this would be the Twilight Zone.

I feel that with contests most people want to be in them win them but fewer actually want to host them. I certainly don't have anything to worth giving as a decent prize if it did want to host one. My two cents on contests.

I'd hold a contest, sure. But Reiku is also in lacking of ideas and proper funds for such a venture. Well, maybe I won't be lacking in too long, maybe I'll have some ideas then.
I'd like for the games and RPs to have separate subforums, too. But I suppose that it's too much to wish for, since both sides put up convincing arguments. . . and I have little more to offer, since I've only been here for a short time. :/

Jaft No pressure. You aren't the only ATG member. Otherwise, this would be the Twilight Zone. That...and constantly talking to myself would be really really creepy. I'll see if I can come up with a contest...maybe others will follow with their own later. Or maybe someone will beat me to the punch! biggrin

I'll be doing something about the contests thing in February myself.
^_^
If we get a lot more rp and game players, then I'm sure we would need separate places for the two. But to me, it doesn't look like there's enough. >.>

Hey...is a Nov 2006 Thank You Letter a decent enough contest prize? I might do some kind of art contest or lottery...I also have a Dec 06 letter. I was saving them to sell in the Market place, but they might serve me better in a contest.

I think it is, Thaliat. But...imho, contests should be more about having fun than winning huge prizes. Granted...huge prizes are sweet 'n' all that...but ...well it's basically just a friendly game of comparing strength...if you boil it down, right? razz

...or ability or luck.
I just need a decent prize to lure people into wanting to enter the contest/lottery. I mean, I could offer a brown ink but I doubt anyone would enter then.

I know...even a good prize doesn't guarantee lots of participation. But I will still try. If people want contests, I will at least offer one or two. I may as well try just for the fun of it.

So is there any word on the street about that birthday thread thing? Because honestly if the mods helped with upkeep it would be a breeze to maintain a thread like that as long as there was kind of a set format of doing it rather than leaving it all up to one person.
Just don't forget all that hard work I put into mine, even if you just rip all the birthdays out of it and gut all the dates with a little acknowledgement to me. I mean I got halfway through Duale's thread with birthdays added to it even at one point...
