Amelia is a mare who is unafraid of the truth, when questions are asked of her she will answer them. She feels that hiding things others may find out later is a rather ridiculous thing to do and there is a good chance you will never see the other you spoke to again so their opinion doesn’t really matter much anyway. Unlike her mother Amelia is no damsel in distress, she is quite capable of caring for herself seeing as her burning hooves make the perfect weapon. Even so, hidden beneath the plate of armor adorning her head there is a sweet mare hesitant to make her appearance. This sweet mare makes an appearance whenever Amelia comes across a mare or stallion who she feels is like her. Glowing eyes, a thirst for blood, oddities about them that others do not have and so on are traits she feels she can become comfortable around. She hasn’t often allowed herself to relax or just have fun, secretly worrying whether or not she will frighten people if she goes off into populated areas. Her sister Anaon often tells her to loosen up and though she normally snorts in response she has been trying more and more to allow herself to just enjoy life. Inwardly she is still reminded of the fact that she looks so very different from everyone on her mother’s side of the family. She is black whereas they are peachy or gray, her hooves are skeletal and on fire whereas theirs are normal and furry, her eyes glow and theirs do not. At times she remembers the look in her great grandfather’s eyes when she was first spotted being led to the family behind Lumriel. Though she couldn’t quite make out what it was she figured it was disgust or mistrust, same with her grandfather Alexiel, who had hunted evil for his entire life. She worries whether or not they believe she will one day turn on them and join the ranks of evil. Sometimes she feels quite like a monster and that distresses her. She resents her father for leaving her mother crying after him, wondering what she had done to make him go. Sometimes she gets angry with Lumriel for going in search of a stallion who so obviously didn’t want her around to begin with. Due to this she secretly fears the day she falls for a stallion, wondering if he will leave her just as her father left her mother. Due to her frightening appearance and the genes contributed by her father Amelia doesn’t feel fear very often, rather she emits it. Some feel it more strongly than others depending on the strength of their hearts. She also has quite the affinity for growing things, harboring a patch of glowing green roses somewhere out of sight. She will only show these glowing roses to those she really trusts.

History:
Amelia is the eldest of three baskets but has yet to meet her youngest sibling for he was taken by her father when she was still in wicker. Anaon is her younger sister and a prankster who constantly keeps Amelia on her toes, wondering what will happen next. Her mother Lumriel is a beauty and somewhat of a damsel in distress at times, preferring not to fight so much as to be protected and loved. Amelia has never met her father and has only heard about him through stories she has heard from her mother or other soquili she has met in passing. From what she has heard her mother is classified as an angel and her father seemingly a demon in appearance. At times she will catch her mother staring at her burning hooves or just admiring her all together, obviously being reminded of her absent father who took off for no reason that has yet to be discovered. She and her sister spent much of their foalhood with the MacSwan clan, her mother having returned to her father and grandfather as soon as her heart was broken. Amelia never really felt as though she fit in with the beautiful and normal looking soquili around her but she tried her best to impress them and convince them she was worthy of their reverence and love. She often stayed by her mother or went about with her sister in an attempt to stay out of the view of the public, fearful about how they may react. When she grew older she found a graveyard not too terribly far from their home and would visit that each night after her mother drifted off into sleep.

One night at the graveyard Amelia bumped into a fearsome Wind Serpent named Fyglia who told her she was a hideous monster. She had wondered about that for some time before hearing it; was her appearance more than an appearance? Was her occasional craving for meat a sign? Amelia gathered that Fyglia must know what she is talking about and so went through life struggling on one side of the blade or the other. She often felt her family looked at her through eyes of mistrust and disgust, not knowing they just didn’t know what to say or how to act. After this conversation she became less playful for she became consumed about the question of her birth and whether or not a part of her was destined to dwell in the darkness.

Amelia grew to be a graceful, well spoken adult with a mysterious side. She is often troubled that she has Angeni blood in her but that she cannot figure out what the other part is. Her mother is unable to instruct her on how to deal with the flames on her feet and cannot relate to her so she often wishes her father had taken her with him instead, so that he may have helped her understand what she was. Just in her hour of need she met with an interesting stallion named Karloff, a stallion that had the same question she had at one time….to be continued upon completion of the rp…
