Scott nodded. "Yea. It attacked Eevee. I protected her for as long as I could. I woulda been toast, but she decided to evolve to help me." He lifted up his shirt to show faint burn scars in his side. They weren't bad, but they were defiantly see-able.

"I don't mean to barge into your conversation or anything... but what's a Shadow Pokemon...?" Nicholas asked, fortunate not to have ever ran into one. Matoko was a cheerful as ever in his arms, not knowing what the others were saying yet.
Koniu looked up at the full grown Lucario. He felt jealous that she was already evolved and that his trainer was holding him back.
"I've seen that look before... Koniu, you'll evolve soon enough, just give it time..." Sparkster said to him, knowing how he gets when it comes to evolving.

 Xavier scratched his head, trying to come up with a usable explanation. "Shadow Pokemon are... Well, they're Pokemon that have been tainted by darkness, and it causes them to be really powerful, but they lose control of themselves, causin' 'em to be really dangerous to human and Pokemon alike. Trust me, they ain't no fun to fight. Just ask Vivian. She did good to take down a Shadow Arbok a while back."
Vivian nodded, then sent her own telepathic message that the four humans in the conversation could hear. "Xavier is correct. While I did defeat the tainted Arbok, I was certainly pained afterward, especially after being hit with multiple Poison Fangs and Crunches. I was left sick after that fight and had to stay in the Pokemon Center for 2 days to recover."

Scott dropped his shirt "Your tellin me. I was on bed rest for three times that and I couldn't move around much after." He hated it. He felt so useless. At least Jolteon was kind to him during that time

"They sound really mean." Nicholas responded to the description of the shadow pokemon. "I hope I don't ever run into any. I don't think my friends would be able to handle that..." He then said with a worried tone. He cared deeply for all of his pokemon and don't want any of them to get hurt from the likes of a shadow pokemon.

Scott nodded again. "Choose someone to travel with. You could come with me, Xavier seems nice. Delira is a pretty female..." He shrugged, watching Jolteon sleep. Poor thing. She deserved a nice nap. He was tired too.

"Okay sure. Hmm...." Nicholas looked at the three and then finally decided. "Would you mind if I tag along with you and your pokemon Xavier?" He asked with a smile. He liked his pokemon and think maybe he could help Koniu out since he has a Lucario so they could talk about things and such.

Xavier chuckled at Nick's idea, but nodded his head. "Sure thing, bud. Guess that brings the travelin' party to 3, now." He motioned towards Emily. "I'm gonna be helpin' her out with the Unova Gym Challenge, since I've been through it before, so if you don't mind that, you're more than welcome to travel with us." He then looked to Lucca. "Time to go back in the ball, darlin'. It's still Viv's day." The mighty Lucario returned to her ball without protest, understanding the agreement that Xavier made with all of his Pokemon.

"I'm fine with that. Thank you so much." Nicholas said with a grin. He was happy that he was with a new friend and with such cool pokemon!
Cleo chirped happily as well. "New friend to talk to! Excitement!"
Koniu and Sparkster were happy as well, Koniu since he could talk with Lucca, and Sparkster well, just because he was happy!

Once the boy had decided who he wanted to travel with, she asks Nicholas and Xavier, "Would the two of you like to trade contact information with me in case you run across any Shadow pokemon? I've been trying to help the professors by gathering as much information as I can on them." Nike quietly climbs back onto her head and looks at the two males as if he had been there the entire time, though he was only trying to escape Amana who wanted to play with him. “These illusions have distorted its

Xavier nodded, agreeing completely with Delira's idea. "Sure thing. After all, where we both have stuff to do with these Shadows, it'd be best to keep in touch, right?" He pulled out his PokeGear and Xtransceiver, so he could put the contact info into both of them. He also brought his number up on the PokeGear for her to copy. "You can reach me on either of these at that number. I usually use the Gear, though, so I'm fairly easy to get a hold of."

Scott yawned and took out Jolteon's poke'ball. She hated being in there when awake and broke out when she could, so Scott only used it to walk around with her when she was asleep. Returning her to it, he put it on its holder on his belt and locked it in place.He waved to the others and walked off. "I'm going to go take a nap. If anyone needs me, Delira has my gear number."
