Nimueh and Mharlith -High Reaches
Mharlith peered down from his ledge his eyes swirling with delight. He had so nearly fathered the clutch now guarded so carefully by the angry little blue but he was not the sort to hold grudges for his own failures and he still took great pleasure in welcoming new life to the weyr. Non the less the brown was still proud as punch at the spread of many eggs produced by his home. Only a little less pleased than if he had direct claw in birthing them.
'Do you think there will be many browns?'He questioned his rider. All colours were amazing but like did attract like...
It's looking promising with two bronzes hatching out first. Nim replied from her place poised inside the healers square space. Granted, trauma healing was not in any way her specialty but she had all the basic training every healer got and if things went badly wrong with the high amount of candidates and hatchlings present it would be all hands on deck.
For this reason she was happy to play nurse. Not only that she was a wing second observing the creation of possible new wing riders. So she would not share her favored view of two boys on the sand with anyone but her beloved brown.
Do you see Rizdax and Rhiyn?
Yes they are both here but its hard to keep track of them in among all those candidates.
Good, I'm counting on you to let me know if anything happens to our boys.
Of course The dragon huffed as if he was offended at the suggestion of his negligence. Nim smiled and flooded their connection with her own deep well of adoration for the great wherry which quickly settled the brown with a rumble of contentment. Hactchings always brought to mind her own impression. She had been so lost before Mharlith had guided her and formed her into a new whole person. Both her boys needed the same thing. Especially Rizdax, then he might understand some of his own worth.
Roana Candidate- Western
Ro's morning had been manic. It had so quickly transformed from a lazy morning, snuggling and happy against the warm solid form of her girlfriend to being shaken rudely awake and informed that the hatching had started. The rest was a whirl of panic as she tried to find her candidate robes, force them over her head and tame her hair into something mildly presentable. By the time Nicara had hauled her onto the back of the beloved blue, shot between and dropped her down by the high reaches sands she was flushed, wind swept and very much awake.
She'd yanked the worst of her bedhead back into clips and pins, washed up and straightened out her robe so by the time she bowed to the large gold's and joined the crowd she had a look bordering on publicly acceptable. Less the, dropped out of tree then dragged backwards through a hedge ascetic than she had feared.
She joined the growing crowd of female candidates , found a middling row spot and....breeeeath. Just in time to see the green/bronze hatch. A strutting beauty that had every right to gloat in his arrival to the world. All eyes were on him after all. Ro very quickly decided she liked his confidence. He was only mildly upstaged by the following hatching of his brother. Roana beamed. This was her third hatching now, she had a good feeling about this one. Third times the charm right?
Alas neither of the bronzes could ever be hers which allowed her mind and eye to wonder to the crowd around her. Spotting Martirae she started to edge towards the sever girl. "Martirae" She announced trying not to sound to disappointed by the intial view of her singular figure "Good to see you again, have you see Iat..." She hadn't even finished the question when she spotted the subject of her search shifting from behind the block of other bodies. "Iathe!" Ro leaned down to hug the younger girl briefly to her tom boy chest and planted a kiss on her cheek. "This time. I have a good feeling for your gold." she told her with a hopeful wink.

Zelaya They'd been totally fiated on the eggs when one, then two cracked. Bronzes...Not for me, they quietly resolved. That was fine. They were important and wonderful, and reminded them of Z'tir. Despite the lack of compatibility, they made a point of still radiating welcoming, approving emotions. They glanced up around as someone...oh, Lucius! It'd taken a moment to remember, because there were just SO many candidates around now...came to join them. "It doesn't feel quite real," they murmured. It really didn't. "There's so many, I can't imagine how they'll all pick." Then again, they were sure that the babies knew already what they wanted.
"I'm alright," They added after a moment, frowning as they realized they'd indeed begun to wring their hands, firmly returning their arms to their sides. "It's my first...first real hatching, so..." They'd been at Tea's hatching, but only to watch. To be here, to be on the sands, intending, hoping to impress...was different. "How about you? Do you...do you think one of those is yours, maybe?" They gestured to the bronzes.
Falienn Falienn physically jumped at the sudden appearance (from his point of view) of Orri at his elbow, though his eyes never left the first hatchling to appear. He'd not had a bad time with that egg, but seeing the huge green (bronze, he told himself, bronze despite the color) flash a red eye towards the candidates made him all the more wary. "Like it or not, uh huh..." It was...nice? To have the eager Orri nearby. Given a chance he felt sure the boy would gush enough to surround them both in a bubble of positive emotions that maybe, just maybe, would be enough to keep the babies from noticing his own less-than-thrilled state.
Another bronze hatched next, but the approach of the first kept him fixated. It was a bronze, so of course it would come to the boys...He tensed as it drew ever closer, thoughts jangling with alarm, and the realization that he was upset and that would only make it worse made him more upset...
A creel managed to catch his ear above the murmur of the crowd, and his head came up, around, eyes dragging over the other shells to—a pale yellowed eye, peering from a very familiar shell. The memory of warm feelings, of love came clawing up from his trembling mind, wrapping around and steeling him as it had done for weeks now in his dreams. That egg had been...it was... He choked down his worries at the bronze so near, focused now on that frightened yellow eye. He understood that feeling, and...and it really wouldn't be fair if he didn't give some of that reassurance back, right?
"It'll be okay..." To Orri it probably sounded like he was trying to convince himself, but his eyes never left that yellow and black egg.
Theo Regory spotted "cute nose" first, trilling and rolling to his feet to flare his wings in eager greetings. Theo had been awestruck by the first hatchling onto the sands, a proud...bronze? He thought it was bronze, strutting about and then, oh! Hissing at one of the girls. What'd happened there? He wasn't sure, but things settled after. It was a telling things that the sound of Sylfie's 'Good morning' won his attention in spite of a second egg cracking open—thought what it was telling was something he didn't dare to think about.
"Oh, yes, good morning!" He lurched to his feet, meaning to bow, but finding his arms full of his portable desk. The inkstone rattled and slid, papers mussing, quill nearly crunching in a hand as he fumbled for a moment. Eventually he managed a mild bob, refusing to sit again until the lady did. "Q-quite the show already! Look! Two bronzes...double good luck, perhaps? Once from each clutch too...how lucky that both are hatching together!" He beamed between the hatchlings and the woman to his side, utterly enthralled in the moment.
Of course, a moment later he squawked, nearly toppling back in his seat as four green bolts streaked down to flutter around poor round Regory. The rotund blue seemed keen, if a bit overwhelmed, backing up against Sylfie's side with a titter. Theo's head twisted around to blink owlishly up at the newcomer, a faint blush scattering over his cheeks at the attention. "Oh, m-me? Well, uh...yes?" He glanced down at his desk, the beginnings of his notes on the hatching already scrawled in rapid handwriting. "A harper, right, yes, I'm...a harper." The quill twitched in his hand. "Mostly plays, but...some other things too." The blush deepened.

Siv and Amila
Oh! What a good litytle bronze, greeting the first soi politely! Siv couldn't help but approve of such a sweet seeming dragon. Admittedly she didn't know any adult bronzes -- were they all so sweet and good?
What a pure soul. was all she could think. Hopefully, this went well because the boys were just beautiful.
Amila, meanwhile, just watched the eggs nearly silently, trying to see small, non-threatening, and still utterly safe for them. She hoped nobody cried, but-- oh she worried about thjem all so much even if she was afraid of harming someone! She just wanted to hide, really. Hide and maybe feed- some animals and go weave and calm down. But not this day -- so hopefully watching the dragons to see them safe and happy was okay, because Amila was scared.

Farellen
Farellen was sharding cold, High Reaches was taking some getting used to and he regularly woke up in the night, having tossed and turned and kicked the blanket off his bed, this time however, something else woke him from his slumber, a humming ... blearily he mumbled something to his flits, who in turn hummed louder, all but screeching at him mentally to wake up. He was just about to ignore them and go back to sleep when Abloooo bit his ear, "HEY!" he said, swatting the blue flit away before coming round fully, THE EGGS...... holy faranth, they were hatching, he was in High Reaches for the double clutch and they were hatching.. He shook sleep off, dragging his hair into a loose ponytail, put his eyepatch on, before donning the traditional robes, his stomach in knots, then hurrying to the Sands.
He reached the sands quickly, noted his arrival to the candidatemaster and walked out, ugh this felt way better, it was so warm here compared to the rest of the weyr, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to fight a flashback to the last hatching he'd officially stood at, thankful that he was eligible now, he'd worked SO hard to prove he was capable, despite his missing eye. He bowed to the queens and took his place among the boys, just as one egg hatched, a green? couldn't be, it was far too big surely, but you never knew. OH! Bronze, okay, good, great sign, good luck... then another egg, another bronze, oh good. He stomach roiled between excitement and fear, no way was he making the same mistake twice, he would stand stock still, or get out of the way if needed to...
~~~~~~~~~
Helane Helane couldn't sleep, at least, couldn't stay asleep, life at the weyr wasn't anywhere near as exciting as being on the sea... at least it wasn't until the touching of the clutches, oh great seas, that had been awesome, then with each passing day, the eggs grew, or rather the babies inside did, every day was one closer to hatching. On orders from the candidatemaster and their teachers though, she'd worked hard to contain her loudness, she tried hard each day not to just yell at people, though to her it was just talking, she didn't know she was loud, but she tried, had even kept herself contained at the touching, at least until they'd returned to barracks.
It was just as well Helane was already awake and using spare floor space to work out, she was currently doing sit ups to keep herself fit when the humming began, it started with other candidates flits, then it seemed as if the very air began thrumming and Helane let out a yell "THE EGGS!" before catching herself and lowering her voice, her body practically vibrating with excited energy as she donned the candidate robes and heading to the sands, her hands shook and her frizzy hair trembled, her eyes even wider than normal, if that was possible, her grin even wider. She joined the girls on the sands, spotting Jeri she moved to stand next to her, "oh my shipfish... this is so exciting LOOK, two bronzes" she said to Jeri, her voice a strained squeak as she tried her hardest to contain herself, her hands shook so hard.
Rokar
Rokar had been in a deep sleep, tossing and turning in a nightmare/flashback of a storm at sea on the fishing boats, he woke up with a gasp, sweating and shaking, feeling like something woke him up. Oh!.. he should be used to this by now, the eggs, both clutches hopefully, were now hatching. He sighed, took a deep breath and put his candidate robes on, trudging down to the Sands, silently nodding to the candidatemaster before bowing respectfully to the queens, taking his place with the boys but behind a little. He didn't want to screw this up as badly as he'd screwed up at the last hatching he'd attended, he hadn't been the only one but he'd gotten chewed out for it, he was getting dispirited but refused to ruin his chances here, or he'dtry not to anyway.
Bekah - Healer tables
For the past few days Bekah had been checking and rechecking the supplies set aside for the hatching, she'd been about to head to bed after a long workday that bled into the night and early morning when the humming started, the fatigue vanished almost instantly, today was the day, she was so sure, that her Tass would impress, she smiled wide and headed back to the healers already preparing on the sands. If she was going to be journeyman someday, she was going to have to run on little sleep, this would be a good test.
She watched as the candidates began entering the sands, she saw her boyfriend Tass enter and gave him a wave and a reassuring smile, she hoped he knew how confident she was that he would Impress ... maybe to either of the two bronzes that had hatched already....
~~~~~~~~~
Serfie - Stands
Serfie had been on edge ever since turning down the chance to Stand at High Reaches double clutching, when she got word, through her flit, as well as the sudden hubbub around. She'd made her mind up a few days prior that she'd go and at least watch the double hatching, so far in her experience, it was unusual. She went to A'iel, and asked him and Nasath if she could come with them to watch the hatchings. She couldn't help but feel a little bit excited when Nasath took off, her stomach flipping when they went Between and she held on tighter until they emerged in the cool air of High Reaches skies. She headed to the Stands with A'iel, "ooh bronzes" she murmured to herself, seeing the two hatchlings on the sands, unable to help the shudder of fear tearing through her still scrawny body but she was safe up here with A'iel, she was sure. She'd worked on things in herself since the last hatching she'd been at, though she still had nightmares.
shinosbee for A'iel/Nasath mention, no need for a reply, discussed through discord that she would get a ride from them to the hatching <3

Talis "Just random, or something like it," she agreed, eyes tracking the pair of bronzes as they interacted, then sweeping over the other eggs that had started moving. All in due time, but it would be nice to see a dragon of a color that might at least look at the girls. "I'm guessing no incidents is a lot to hope for with this many eggs, but maybe if everyone behaves themselves from here on out, it won't be too bad."
The clutchparents seemed to have things well in hand, not even tolerating so much as a stray thought, so hopefully everyone would be on their best behavior.

Lusialu The girl was relieved that the other one didn't seem too upset by being stepped on. She was small and light, at any rate, and was grateful the stranger seemed to forgive her mishap. After growing up with the family she had, she didn't bat an eye at the girl's reassurance, or at being called sweetie. Pet names ran heavily in her family.
"It's my first one," she confessed, glancing away from the eggs to peek up at the stranger. Still, she offered Nyaru a smile, even though her features were a bit shy. "The Sands are a lot hotter than I thought they'd be... and the babies a lot bigger." Her eyes turned once more to the now two bronzes that were on the Sands. She knew they would have no interest in her, but that didn't mean she didn't wish to admire them.
- - - Cedarian Not one but two bronzes. Well, how commendable of the eggs to hatch such a color first. Still, the man's brows knit as he watched them. Would they be friends or foe? Two clutches meant that there would be a lot of dragons to look out for, especially once they decided to walk among them. Who might they go to? Who were theirs? And who among the Candidates might think that they were worthy of them?
Surely, many a boy was drooling over the chance of Impressing metallic hide. He almost gave a scoff. Such arrogance. No, it wasn't that Cedarian wasn't interested in the bronzes... but he was not particularly keen on all the pressures that came with such an Impression. He was self-aware enough to know he possessed a quietly lazy heart.
- - - Zyamel The girl watched as yet another bronze hatched. Ha! Surely, High Reaches Weyr would find this a doubly good sign. Two bronzes out already, and the first sired by the brown? Well, that would certainly give the Weyr something to chew on... And both good looking, hearty beasts. But where were the greens? Those fierce fighters were what Zyamel wanted to see hatch!
She did spot Martirae not far off, along with Iathe. She recognized the latter from simply having been Candidates with her, though she didn't know her terribly well. All she knew was she hadn't managed to land her in bed, but honestly, Zyamel knew it was just a matter of time. Ah, but those thoughts could be tabled for later.
Looking away from the bronzes, she eyed the eggs that were wobbling. Come on out, loves. Look at all these beautiful folk waiting for you. I promise it'll be more fun on the Sands than in those eggs! It was a hatchlings dream, after all; food waiting for them, Candidates to choose from, warm sands, and a hum of welcome from all the dragons? Who would want to stay cooped up inside?
