Thread took that as a challenge, apparently.

Sweet peach?

< Nothing drastic, > Eirinth replied with a wince. Her shoulder ached, but it wasn’t bad.

Rheasilvia took a moment to check that her flamethrower was still in working order during a rare moment of calm. So far it had been on her side, but...

Eirinth flexed her injured limb and narrowed her eyes. What a terrible, terrible day...

The goldrider pair called their target and angled down steadily, but the wind suddenly turned on them. In the same instant Rhea chose to still her trigger finger, Eirinth jumped Between and away to the side, and the second they returned the woman sent fire and devoured the menace. Rhea sent her touch of thanks for her dragon’s quick thinking, which the gold mutely accepted. She was still in Worry Mode and couldn’t preen.

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

Pemli could feel the wind trying to work against them, but Ningesth was having none of it. Her golden queen, twisted with such grace, that she made it look easy as she danced out of the way of some silvery strands sent their way. She even set up her rider for a nearly perfect position, to send a stream of fire at the strands, to burn some of them up.

See, we can totally do this, Mine,Ningesth assured, confidence in her voice.

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

Pemli noticed a clump of Thread and directed Ningesth down to where it was. Ningesth dove down to where her rider would be able to flame it down, she had no doubt about that in her mind. And she was right, Pemli managed to use her flamethrower on it, leaving it nothing but ash.

I told you we could do it, Mine. Look how well you took care of that. You probably saved more lives,Ningesth told her.

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

Pemli had been working on flaming down another clump, when something seemed off to her. Ningesth under her agreed as she quickly twisted out of the way, with some choice words for whoever was responsible. Pemli was surprised, seeing the familiar shape of a bag of firestone as it hurtled past them. Oh dear, seems someone had had a bit of an accident above with the toss or it falling from one of the riders.

Shaffing idiots, they should know better how to handle such a thing. Only an amateur would make sure a rookie mistake,Ningesth grumbled. She felt Pemli's soothing presence, reminding her to focus on what they were doing.

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

Pemli kept her eyes open for anymore Thread they might have to deal with. That is when she spotted trouble for another one of their wingmates, knowing she had to let them know. Ningesth would help, she knew that, just to make sure they were heard.

I would strongly suggest getting out of the way!Ningesth added.

Pemli and Gold Ningesth (Queen's Wing, Full Flight)

Things seemed to quiet down for a moment, so the pair could do some thinking. Pemli didn't mind the calm, even if she knew it would probably be brief. It meant that the wings above them were doing okay, at least for the most part. She could only hope that included her loved ones, not wanting anything bad to happen to them. She did manage to see one of the whites that had been flying with them needed to be caught by their golden clutchsib.

I don't like having to wait like this, Mine. It is too quiet,Ningesth sighed.

Pavari's thoughts were soothing as the little gold turned to focus on her formation once more, white around the edges of her eyes and ice in her hearts.

But she was frustrated all the same, wishing that there was something better she could be doing even if it was important.

For just a moment, there was calm. It is sometimes best with nothing. If there had been nothing then Baihath wouldn't have fallen. No, the queen was happy with nothing in that moment.

Back in proper formation, Khamaith and Ezyzu, numbed and bandaged to the best ability of their amazing healers, had come in during a calm phase--thankfully. Ezyzu gave her dragon a loving pat, for their was a lot more fall left to go. Yet in the quiet calm, she shifted her flamethrower gear, her mind began to wander.. Hmm.... Wherhide pants....

Numbing agent does wonders.

80-84. A whole lot of nothin'.... Kind of boring down here, isn't it? No, no, don't let yourself get distracted by daydreams, or thoughts of a certain someone. Hmm. A certain someone in wherhide pants. I mean, what?... bah!

Quiet, calm.. After taking such a massive hit, it was welcome to not have large clumps raining down on the queen's wing.

60-69. A whole lot of nothin'. The Queen's Wing can sure be quiet sometimes. You should be getting XP points for patience the way this is going. Part of you wonders how your fellow wingmates are doing... maybe your dragon can get you a status report.
