Odd would recall Cadenza and Replay both, tossing out his hoverboard at this point as he headed off in the direction his teammates had run. He wouldn't find either of them where the roto drone's beam had once come from but he would spot what appeared to be a raid den nearby. He'd had to ask Lykas to explain that to him before going to sleep the night before, unable to make sense of all the information available on the SNAGs.

As he headed toward it, he'd notice the pair of trainers outside, looking toward the den as if either debating if they should go into it or if they were trying to comprehend something he'd missed. "Don't mind me. Just passing through!" He'd quip as he breezed past them, sensing his allies spirits within the den as he got close. Kicking his hoverboard higher into the air, he'd retract the board as he spun around in the air to look at the two trainers as his forward momentum came to a strange and abrupt stop. With a salute, he'd fall feet-first into the den. Lykas must have been having an influence on him today, he thought to himself as he descended into darkness. Pulling out his Premier Ball, he'd hurl it straight down, releasing Cadenza at the bottom of the den. "Telekinesis!" He'd command, feeling himself gripped by the Ghost-type's energy a moment later as his fall came to a graceful stop. "Thanks, buddy!" He'd recall the Bug-type with that and look around in the dull light for signs of his friends. He couldn't see them, outright, but the light of their souls should be visible enough to lead him to them fairly quickly.

~~~
Kaya would nod to Freth's judgement, choosing to remain behind in the camp as he was bid. Not like he'd be too useful for the foreseeable future if his arm truly was broken, like he felt like it was. "Anyone here have enough medical knowledge to diagnose a broken limb?" He'd eventually ask, the pain having been reduced by Ulla's attempts to heal him enough to make speech easier, at least.
Before Ulla was about to follow the others, she heard a loud gear move in her ear. It shook her entire body as it left her a bit dizzy at first. She looked around to see what it could be, but something else caught her attention. It didn't look like anyone else heard it. She started to breathe heavily as something popped in her head. "Magearna...?" She said as she took the Soul Heart out of her pocket as it looked like some of the murkiness disappeared. And now, it looks like there were some dark crystals surrounding the Soul Heart. The last time she saw it was when she showed it to Sub yesterday. What could've made it more clear today? She stuffed the bubbled Soul Heart in her bag and started running to follow the others.
She was lagging a bit behind seeing how the small group got a bit head start, she took a bit of the scenery as she watched Leslie and Abby were fighting the Servine hybrid. "Looks like that leaves us the Ground Channeler Velvet." She said to her partner as she needed a distraction to help Granny out of that quicksand. She ran through the chaos to get to the Alolan member. Once she got there, she conjured up some of her Fairy Energy to outline Auntie Wikolia then expand outwards to get her out of the quicksand. "Alola Granny Wikolia. I'm Ulla Hanabi from Iki Town part of Snagem team. We are working along with you and Team Alola for the time being. Nina and the rest of your team are safe. Guessing you were out looking for your friend?" She asked as she started to lift the Alolan member out of the ground.
"Ah jeez, that's not what I intended for at all! Still got some time, though..." Aden remarked to himself, quickly taking out a Great Ball; he didn't care much if it was legal or not, being more concerned with dealing with a Bronzong about to explode. He was all but poised to throw it at once when Blizz's call to take cover and what his Articuno would be doing finally registered. "Wait, you're doing- oh craaaaaaaap!" Diving at Wooloo in a panic to ensure they'd be safe from the Sheer Cold, the ball Aden was holding would be tossed and abandoned to the chilling winds. It'd end up being carried along those winds as they converged on Bronzong, followed by the rapidly expanding ice pushing it further and likely ending up just as entombed in it as Bronzong hopefully was.
Shivering from the intense cold, he'd carefully get off of Wooloo and look over to the now much icier landscape. "That... did land, didn't it?" He finally asked.
Sensing what the other 2 where doing as Krysta started at the bronzong, elgyem started walking backwards. "Run" it said in Krystas voice. "Hmm? Why? It looks like they have everything under control." Elgeym pulled on muse's fur. "run. now, things are about to go bad." Krysta was still watching what was going on while elgeym was moving backwards. "what is Blizzards bird doing> it looks... angry... and why is it getting so cold around here?" Elgeym sends a forceful message to Krysta "I SAID RUN are you daft? That bird is pissed and we are in its directly area of affect. we are going to be popcicles if we don't get out of here!"
Krysta finally realized what the little grey alien was saying. "ohh... crap" she immediately would turn away from the bronzong and started running towards the grass to escape the forth coming hellscape.
I breathed a sigh of relief as Ambipom started twitching in a paralytic state, but that sigh was short lived as Arkelos's plea for help echoed in the pit. With a nod to myself, I grabbed Simon's ball, from Ambipom's tail-hand and let Simon out. With a quick order from me, the Drillbur dug through the dirt at high speeds, popping up in front of Arkelos and Lucario just in time to block a volley of flame with Protect.
Of course Leslie would do something completely insane and of course it would take her intended target completely off guard, the flying metallic girl clashing with its Leaf Blade, the two forces cancelling each other and causing them both to move backwards, in the case of the Servine hybrid this involved it sliding back. His arm was throbbing after that clash, might even be broken. Even with a likely broken arm the fact that the hybrid wasn’t taken completely off its feet was an example of its own strength. That said...
The Servine hybrid didn’t see Palladia coming, the Grass type slugged by the super effective Fire Punch, as it was recovering from what just happened with the sudden arrival of a young girl. However, this hybrid was fast, both physically and mentally, an attestment to its species. Reacting quickly and confidently as it was sent tripping backwards the hybrid lashed out with Vine Whip, the vines rapidly shooting out from under its ‘collar’ and ensnaring Palladia. As the hybrid fell back onto the ground back first it used the momentum to take Palladia with it and bring the Pokemon arching over into the air and slamming on the ground behind them.
“Why are you helping her!?” The hybrid demanded to know, annoyed by this sudden interference and noting these weren’t members of Team Alola like their target. Standing up the hybrid began to do ballet-like twirls, each one conjuring up a Leaf Tornado, one heading for Absinithe and two towards Leslie. For the Steel girl it might not do too much damage but she would find them annoying enough in their ability to reduce her visibility (accuracy), dirt and sand being swept up into them.
As for the Ground Channeler she looked over at her partner for just a few seconds after all that happened and then back to Auntie Wilokia. In the short amount of time she looked away Wilokia was almost completely pulled out of the sand by another interloper, another young girl from Team Snagem. Did those vigilantes make a habit of recruiting kids or something? “Snagems.” The Ground Channeler named Kalana sighed, she had encountered their kind before, particularly Blizzard and Tristan, once again opposing them in a contest.
Realizing that getting into a tug-o-war with Ulla wasn’t beneficial to her she decided to target the girl herself and worry about Wilokia later. With a shimmer from her necklace her Sandygast disappeared into the ground, the quicksand turning back to Earth and Wilokia now floating in the air thanks to Ulla. “Focus Punch, Golurk.” Kalana ordered. Why use such a risky move? Sure Ulla was occupied with Wilokia but auntie was out of the quicksand now so all she had to do was drop her. One of the other Snagems might realize what was going on before Ulla did if they paid attention.
Rising up out of the ground behind Ulla was Sandygast, its form much larger as it took on additional sand from the ground. Rectangular spirals of energy began to appear on its body as it quickly transformed and took on the exact shape and size of Golurk, a sandy copy of the Pokemon. The sand copy would grab a hold of Velvet and hold it up in the air in ts large fist, the real Golurk locking onto it as it prepared its Focus Punch. Once fully charged up Golurk would come rocketing off the ground with rocket-like propulsion from under its torso, legs withdrawn. It would fly straight for the sand Golurk fist first, pointed at the Vulpix caught in its grip. It would certainly destroy the sand copy but likely take out Ulla’s only Pokemon as well unless someone stopped it.
As for auntie Wilokia if she wasn’t already suspended by Ulla she wouldn’t be much use to the girl right now, worn out and beaten she wasn’t any help to anyone at the moment.
Poor Bronzong didn’t know what hit it. One moment it’s high off its own adrenaline and preparing to teach these trespassers a lesson and the next thing it knew the temperature dropped to such a degree that it was worried for the first time in its life that its steel body would actually crack. However a cursed ‘blessing’ arrived in the chilling storm in the form of a Great Ball, and that is where Bronzong was now. Encased in ice among the frozen destruction was a lone Great Ball thrown by one Aden and inside of it, safely contained, was the Bronzong that just barely escaped the final explosive force of the Sheer Cold. Sure, it was captured but part of it was glad. The power of a legendary Pokemon was frightful. Now how was Aden going to get that Great Ball out?
Thanks to Blizzard and Elygem’s own pleading Krysta escaped first Bronzong bowling her over and then Articuno’s own icy destruction. The poor girl had a lot of excitement today already and it seemed each ‘event’ just one upped their previous encounters. Talk about an exhausting day and they still weren’t done.
After that little display of power Blizzard could now sense the repercussions of it; silence. He couldn’t sense a single wild Pokemon in the air, a chilly wind blew and it told him that Articuno’s attack had scared away any and all other ambushers. They feared the bird and what it was capable of. This was both a blessing and a curse though, no other wild Pokemon would bother them for now but if the wildlife near and far was aware of what just happened then wouldn’t Team Galar be aware too? It was something to consider. The Roto-drone from before was now getting shots of the frozen landscape. This made for great television.
The way to Dusty Bowl, their intended location, was now clear. Nothing would stop them from making it to the barren desert-like ‘bowl’. Dead trees abound, dry grasses blowing in the fierce sandstorm, and not a single wild Pokemon to be seen. They really did scare them away far. The lack of wild Pokemon made one thing easy for Blizzard though, he could sense the presence of exactly who he was looking for. Beyond the sandstorm, deep into the bowl, was a group of individuals. Hybrids among them definitely, several. That had to be where Team Galar’s camp was. Did they know the Snagems were here? Maybe, especially if they had hybrids with them and if one of several of them possessed a keen sense like Blizzard. And yet they made no movements as far as Blizzard could sense. Maybe they were waiting to see who blinked first?
On the other side of the sandstorm, their camp constructed at the base of the highest cliff which surrounded Dusty Bowl, was Team Galar. Only three of them were at camp at the moment, just as there were three Snagems conveniently enough. Two hybrids and a regular Pokemon trainer. A Mr. Rime hybrid stood as still as possible, just occasionally tapping his foot to a beat as he stared off into the sandstorm. He most certainly had sensed the Snagems with his own Psychic powers. Icy baton gripped in the hands of the retired police officer. The other hybrid, an Alcremie hybrid, was slightly more frightened by the prospect of a fight, gripping her ‘dress’ tightly. She was told all she had to do was keep the team healed, not actually fight. As for the human he sat on a log, dressed in an ornate blouse that still had the general design of their uniforms but with extra flair, and gave his Sirfetch’d a pep talk as they readied themselves. Which side would move first?
”Arkelos”
The Wishing Piece was stolen from Ambipom and despite its attempts at extracting revenge on Arkelos it was paralyzed thanks to Terashi’s quick thinking. Arkelos and Riolu would get to keep their faces today. With Wishing Piece in hand and Odd arriving late on the scene to be of any help the trio of Snagems found themselves at the bottom of the den without much else to worry about. A red beam of energy would come shooting down the hole above and Ambipom disappeared into it. Silence fell over the den for a short while after that but it was soon interrupted as a very large Pokeball made of energy fell down from above.
“You guys want to play games? Then let’s play!” The girl above shouted down, the Pokeball burst open to release an ever growing Arcanine, the hound growing and growing until it towered over them like the Tin Tower of Johto, a swirling storm of red dynamax energy churning above its head, a fierce storm of residual energy swirling around the entire field preventing them from escaping.
“Arrr!” Roared the Dynamaxed Arcanine as it slammed its humongous paw on the ground causing the entire den to shake violently. With a deep breath the Arcanine would then proceed to unleash a Flamethrower unlike they’ve ever seen before, the massive flames threatening to consume them all and the entire den.
-----
The Roto-beacon would react to Aria’s band and a holographic display would pop up showing her all her available Pokemon, that is only those up to their second stage. Once she had selected one the beacon would go dark and the girl would be allowed to take her second reward from the den which contained not one Wishing Piece but two! It looked like this fight was worth it in the end. The Roto-drone that had been watching her fight swooped in close and began to speak.
”Bzzt! Aria! The viewers at home have gone wild over your display of tenacity! Would you like to say a few words for your newfound fans?” The Rotom controlling the drone asked, a mic popping out of its mechanical body.
Once Aria had her interview there wasn’t much else for her to do here and perhaps after the hell of a fight she just had it might be best she head back to camp, her little baby Toxel could probably use the rest, plus she would be returning with two Wishing Pieces. Who else on the team could say they got two in one go? And she made some fans! Today was a good day for Aria.
The Leaf Tornado didn't intimidate Abby. I mean, it was just some leaves and wind, what was it going to do? Of course, she didn't realize it was an actual move, but that was moot when she realized that Ulla was about to be taken out of the tournament. Running around the tornado, Abby jumped onto, and then off of the extended Vine Whip, getting within punching distance of the Servine hybrid and doing just that. When the resulting hit knocked the hybrid off guard, Palladia used this opportunity to slip out of the Vine Whip and return to her trainer's side, but this wasn't to last.
"YYYEEEEEETTT!" Absinthe roared, throwing Palladia across the battlefield at Velvet with strength she normally didn't possess. In that instant, before her trainer let her go, Palladia understood how afraid Abby was for Ulla, and as she neared her destination, she gently but firmly pushed Velvet out of range of the incoming Focus Punch, instinctively using Endure with the intent of taking the punch for herself.
With Palladia taking care of business, Abby focused her wrath on the Servine hybrid. She knew that she couldn't do much by herself, but she could at least keep him from double-teaming Ulla with his channeler companion.
~*~
"Maker's breath, what in the f-" was all I had time to say before the depths of the den were flooded with flame. Hatenna had my back, however, and had a Protect up to make sure her trainer didn't get burned. That said, it wasn't as effective as I'd like. Small fires started on my hair and clothes, and while a bit of patting put them out, my shirt was ruined and my hair was a mess by the time Flamethrower died out. "Good job. Simon!" I said, recalling Hatenna. Fortunately, Simon was a fast digger, but I could see the panic in his eyes as he beheld the monstrous Arcanine. "Simon, there's nothing for it, now. Earthquake!" I ordered.
I had Indeedee use Protect to shield both me and herself from any dirt that might fall on top of us as a result of Simon's Earthquake, but given the massive bulk of the Arcanine on top of it's Ground-type damage, there was no way in hell that Simon's Earthquake wouldn't severely weaken it. I had hopes that it'd knock the beast out in one shot, but you and I both know that I'm not that lucky.
"You know, had I known you were going to go after that Bronzong...I would have tried to get Articuno to do something else, but then again, considering how that thing wanted to become the bomb, I guess its a moot point." I said, rubbing the back of my head a bit as I observed Aden's Great Ball encased in ice. Though...geez, hopefully Aden hadn't slacked on his fire based abilities after all this time.
I then looked up, Articuno was hovering down for a landing. Quickly I rushed up to it to meet it once it landed, and what I saw came to no surprise. Articuno was still on the brink, breathing heavily and on the cusp of a panic attack, eyes were starting to get bloodshot perhaps just on merits of it mustering everything it had just to follow one command after the other. "Articuno. Articuno look at me." I reached up, putting my hands around its head, gently at first. Unfortunately the second I touched him, Articuno snapped, screeching and flailing, prompting me to hold considerably tighter. "ARTICUNO! LOOK. AT. ME." I said, forcing his head to look at me dead in the eyes. Articuno's breathing was erratic, practically a hard huff and puff came roughly every half second. "Articuno. You did well." I said, gentler now.
"Arrrrrrr...?" It softly whined out.
"Why? Articuno, you know why." I said. "Articuno, there was no sense of you hiding either at the gym or at HQ all the freakin' time. You were more than ready for this. And you showed it. In spades! This was amazing!" I said, pointing out to Articuno's devastation. "I told you that you were ready. You didn't want to believe me. You cannot keep letting what happened years ago hold you down like that. I already learned that much..."
"...arrrri."
"Yea, you did get a little banged up for a second there, but you recovered. And you're still standing."
"......arrrri?"
"Git rid of...Articuno, are you serious? No no no, Articuno, that's not the point at all." I said. "Yes, I was trying to get you to the road to recovery just so you can get back out in the world again. I brought you in to get you better again. You're a Pokemon of legend for Christ's sake. Even now, I don't really feel...I guess...worthy of having you around. Its not I want to just say, ok, bye like yesterday's garbage, you're more special than you realize. You're a bird that I presumed exuded the image of freedom in the cold skies, and until I thought you could handle yourself, I was going to spend all the time I could with you until you felt you were good to go. But conversely, you were letting the fear of the dangers of being out here and the fear of abandonment rule over you. That's why you hung around all this time. Wasn't it?"
Articuno's breath trembled. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Articuno had a lot going on the day I rescued it years ago. Blamed for something that wasn't its fault and beaten to the brink of death for it, leaving it traumatized all this time. I was pretty much the only one that it could truly confide in, and even then, there was that tinge of doubt that said otherwise. The only safe move to Articuno was to stay hidden. Even when I had Articuno go out to send Miles letters old-school style, it wouldn't have surprised me Articuno got there and back to me as fast as it could, hiding when it needed to come to a stop. It didn't want to be out there. It probably thought it couldn't defend itself if it came to it, especially after that thrashing it took those years ago. A Legendary Pokemon, fallen from grace by the likes of angry people those years ago. The bird's eyes started to well up. "It's fine, Articuno. Nothing like that is going to happen to you if I can help it." I said, now bringing the bird in to give it a hug. "It's fine. One step at a time, okay? Okay?"
"Arrri..." It spoke up.
It was clear to me that Articuno still was going to need work...but, its progress. One step at a time, after all.
Ulla started to break a sweat a bit while she was getting Granny out of the quicksand. "This is actually harder then it should be Velvet. Probably because I'm not directly connected to you. I'm going to be counting on you while I finish this up." Velvet nodded happily as both of them noticed the quicksand turned back to normal Earth. "Velvet get ready to use-" She turned around as Velvet wasn't at her feet anymore. Instead a large Sandygast was directly behind her. She dropped Wilokia gently to the ground behind her. She then realized where Velvet went, as the giant Sandygast was holding her in the air as the real Golurk was coming down with a focus punch directed at Velvet.
They weren't aiming to stop Ulla, they were aiming to take her out of the competition completely. "Velvet! I got you-" Before she could do anything, Abby's Palladia pushed Velvet out of the way and back into the Fairy child's arms. "Palladia no!" Ulla shouted as it then used Endure. Ulla was about to make a bubble with her channeling but she used so much energy already. She now had to come up with a plan B. "Velvet burn them with Wil o Wisp!"
The Wishing Piece was stolen from Ambipom and despite its attempts at extracting revenge on Arkelos it was paralyzed thanks to Terashi’s quick thinking. Arkelos and Riolu would get to keep their faces today. With Wishing Piece in hand and Odd arriving late on the scene to be of any help the trio of Snagems found themselves at the bottom of the den without much else to worry about. A red beam of energy would come shooting down the hole above and Ambipom disappeared into it. Silence fell over the den for a short while after that but it was soon interrupted as a very large Pokeball made of energy fell down from above.
“You guys want to play games? With a deep breath the Arcanine would then proceed to unleash a Flamethrower unlike they’ve ever seen before, the massive flames threatening to consume them all and the entire den.
Looking up at the towering Ambipom, static filled the air. After a short moment of thinking this was the end, Ambipom froze. Arkelos was covering his ears from the static in the air, as the thunderwave hit. "Well i'll hand it to Terashi. He knows how to hit them."Watching the pokemon fall."
Arkelos struggles to get up, "I guess that's done; now for-" he was interrupted in the middle of his sentence. "Uuhhhh, what was that!?" He said looking around, "And what happened to the Ambipom!!" He shouted. Second later the den filled with red mist; as if from a horror movie. "I'm not liking this new addition." A red beam shot up into the sky through the den. Over head he heard a voice shouting; “You guys want to play games? Then let’s play!” The voice said from above.
A large pokeball dropped down into the Den; Smoke and clouds formed a perfect storm throughout the den. Looking up at the Dozen story tall Arcanine Arkelos and Riolu than back at each other; "That's a big doggo." Riolu nodded. Letting a thunderous earth shattering call, it launched a powerful Flamethrower toward the group.
Seeing how Terashi already went on the defense, Arkelos thought about another tactic; before realizing his Riolu jumped directly into the flame's path. Arkelos could only watch as his partner pokemon became consumed by the flames. In doing so the flames broke apart, missing Arkelos. "RRIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLUUUUUU!" he struggled shouted out with tears in his eyes.
As the flames died down, Arkelos could only clinch his fist, as tears ran down his battered dusty face. Looking up to survey the battle field for his partners fainted body; it was no where to be found.
The ground started shaking as tremors from Terashi's Drillbur earthquake. Arkelos looked out more closely at the battle field, with no sigh of his Riolu. "RIOOLUUU!" he shouted, "WHERE ARE YOU!?" He continued to shout.
As the Earthquake continued to reshape the battle field; Rock and debris flew in every direction. "What the-" Arkleos looked out onto the field, as boulders, rocks, and more where being slung at the Arcanine. He watched as confused to why the pokemon was being pelleted.
A quickly as it was seen, it vanished, and appeared in different locations. "Riolu?" "RIOLU!" Arkelos smiled, "I get what it did now; It used subsitute to block the attack. Than waiting for the earthquake so it could use rockslide to throw rocks at it's legs an feet; using the pokemon size against it."GO RIOLU!" Arkelos shouted as riolu used extremespeed,
Riolu finished off it's serious of attacks with a well placed Drain punch to the right paw; gaining some energy back, as well throwing a blow to the pokemon's support.
Riolu returned to Arkelos' side running smack into him. Arkelos was so happy whe he gave Riolu a large huge, that tears poured from his eyes; as a few drops fell onto Riolu's forehead, lights surrounded Riolu. Arkelos watched as his pokemon evolved mid-battle into Lucario.
Arkelos looked upon his newest friend; Both of them grinned happily, gave a fist bump high five. Arkleos wiped the tears from his face; Looking at Odd and Ter. "Alright, the three of us can do this, TOGETHER!" Arkelos shouted, Lucario let out a fearsome howl boosting everyone's attack.
Leslie would crow with a smug grin on her face as she saw exactly how effective that stupid maneuver had actually been. "Haha! Surprise! Came for rewards and also got to do awesome fighting!" Turning to continue her fight with the Servine hybrid, it didn't exactly start off on a good foot given the twin Leaf Tornados that were now harrying her and driving her vision completely wild. Gritting her teeth at this setback to her guaranteed victory, the Mawile hybrid would charge towards where she had last seen the hybrid.....which was a good ten feet away from his actual position at that moment. But still, Leslie was a ball of flailing limbs and extreme weight that deserved a reasonable amount of attention given how she had broken....a lot of things today.
And as the Servine hybrid's attention likely focused on the thrashing Steel hybrid, a trio of energy beams would lance towards it, each of their own element. It would seem Church had decided to take the initiative given his Trainer's proclivity for being a very attention-seeking person and was firing on the Servine hybrid with a Tri Attack to try and take advantage of this effort to garner attention.
-----
Aria let a playful smile cross her face as she spun through the potential Pokemon she could retrieve. But.....she only really had one pick. Especially if she wanted to use this competition to train Billy up to his full potential for that evolution she had found that he would have. Clicking onto Vibrato, Aria would quickly pocket the Noivern's pokeball before dashing into the cave for her.....TWO Wishing Pieces! Score! It really was all coming up Aria! Her day would be perfect if....
And before her thought finished, the drone would swoop down to begin her after action interview. Truly this was the best timeline. "All I can say is that you can never take a loss lying down. You always have to fight and scrape as much as you can until you run out of things you can do. If I hadn't followed that advice, I sure as heck wouldn't be the winner here. Also, if anyone wants to support me, feel free to look up my music. Its under She Dreams Of Demons online. Thank you all for your support and I hope to talk to you all soon!" Aria told the camera, making sure to give a wink just before her feed was likely to be cut off. And with that, she would gather up Billy, open up Vibrato's Pokeball, and take off across the fields of the area back towards the tower. She was almost literally walking on clouds, no need to risk something to screw up her day by walking all the way back where she could get pinned down.
Krysta sat in the frost covered grass for a moment collecting her thoughts. she had not realized what she had signed up for when joining teams with the snagems. She had caught her first pokemon, been in her first real fight, seen a legendary pokemon go what she thought looked totally beserk. She had experienced so much in a short amount of time she was having a hard time processing and just sat.
"we need to go. this isn't healthy sitting in this ice." The familiar voice ringed in her head. She tried to ignore it, just needing a moment trying to make sense of how much she had been involved in recently. How would se explain all of this to the professor? where to even Begin? And a more nagging feeling started to rise up. part of her LIKED what she had gotten into. "we need to get moving. we have things to do." the voice was incessant... almost pleading." Krysta would nod distractedly and with a distant look her in her eye she got up and Headed over to blizzard and aden and waited to move out. "Here you can hold this...." she said to her Elgeym "I know sub borrowed yours but hopefully this will make up for it in the mean time. the Elgeym would reach up and take the piece from the girls hand and hold on to it. not saying anything but humming gently. some sort of self comforting thing krysta assumed.
Odd would be quick to scramble away from where he'd landed in the den, searching for his allies. It wouldn't take long before he found himself staring up at a giant-sized canine and, as the red light of the Dynamax energy illuminated the den, he would spot his allies not too far away. "There you two are!" He'd exclaim before the Arcanine's attack was unleashed. "Replay! Sing!" Odd exclaimed as he tossed out the ball containing his faithful parrot. The bird would emerge, flying as high as possible to try to evade the flames and beginning to sing a beautifully soothing song as he fluttered high in the air in an attempt to lull Arcanine to sleep.
Aden slowly got up after the icy explosion, shivering slightly before letting more fire energy radiate around him to warm himself up. "Uhhhhh..." The sound that came next was appropriate for seeing a ball suspended in enough ice to keep it there for quite some time. "To be honest, we had the same idea, just different ways of going about it... Heat Wave would be the safer way of freeing the ball, but that'd take a while and messing up the alternate plan means I'm frozen and Celebi's bailing me out. Not that you'd notice much, but it wouldn't be a fun time for me..."
The area would seem to briefly seem a lot sunnier than usual as he started charging a Solar Beam instead. "It might damage the ball, but it'd be a lot faster if I just blast it out. The ice should be enough of a buffer against it anyway." He'd listen to the conversation between Blizz and Articuno as he finished charging and blasted a hole in the ice with Solar Beam, noting the sort of tone that Articuno had in its words.
"If it helps," he chimed in as he picked up the small chunk of ice with the Great Ball inside it. He could finish melting it fast enough just holding it, he figured. "A lot of so-called legendary Pokemon seem to choose who to be around rather than the other way around. Sometimes they don't exactly get that choice, but it's not unheard of for one to choose to stick around as thanks. Panic and anxiety aside, I don't think Articuno would be inclined to stay around you if it didn't feel safe around you in the first place."
Finally, he shrugged. "Besides, much as they say time heals all wounds, I have way too much firsthand experience to know that time's only one factor in that. Articuno, I don't know what you've been through and my words probably won't have the same impact as Blizz's, but I'll do what I can to help too. Most of us would, I think."
---
As Aden continued to the Dusty Bowl, he'd also be able to sense that a few others were nearby... two of them with arguably more energy than the others. "...you sense them too, right, Blizz?" He wasn't inclined to move much further, wanting to keep his guard up.
Articuno listened to Aden for a second then pulled its head back, looking at me. "...it will be okay. Okay?" I said. The Articuno nodded, if albeit hesitantly. "Come back for now. Take a break, okay? Maybe think about it while you are at it. Might need you here in the near future. Competition and all, you know." I said, taking out Articuno's Pokeball and recalling the icy bird. "It's going to be a loooong tournament." I took a deep breath, waiting for Aden and Krista to recollect themselves and perhaps get the Great Ball out of the ice, then finally made our way off, continuing on at the Dusty Bowl.
There was a problem, unfortunately. One thing that I started to take note is that while you could only use one of your own Pokemon, the Pokemon out in this wild area was free game. Aden, who started out with his Wooloo, now had a Bronzong to call upon, likewise Krista got the Stunky, Elgyem, and I noticed her during our brawl with the Bronzong a new Pokemon I am fairly unfamiliar with. I hadn't really the opportunity to capture anything else, focusing on my own crew for the most part. And worse still, perhaps thanks to the battle against the Bronzong, I perhaps had Articuno inadvertently run off any potential captures. Well, not many would want to screw with the might of a legendary Pokemon. Let alone one ready to snap. I may have unintentionally screwed myself for the long term in this tournament.
As we continued on, something did get on the proverbial radar. Just as Aden did. I signaled both to stay silent, low. Made the steps as silent as we possibly could as we braved the seemingly constant sandstorm blowing through the bowl. We were the scouting party after all. Though...scouts don't really discharge icy nukes like an Articuno upon wild Pokemon. They probably are aware they were about to about to get company if they didn't get a cold chill. I rushed behind a rock, pressing hard against it. I needed to know what we were up against. I took a look about, getting a read again as to what was out there. Peering around the corner, I took notice through the storm: two hybrids...one hybrid...I didn't know what the heck he was. The other one...a...Slurpuff hybrid? No...can't be. Don't even look even remotely the same. No idea either. Then one human...with...what looks like a Farfetch'd with a shield? Too many unknowns and we're not out here to do a hard skirmish. Aden and I could probably take the hybrids...their presence isn't exactly the strongest I ever felt out of any hybrid or channeler, but that'd just leave Krista to fight the Pokemon trainer, and if I had to take a shot in the dark, the trainer has quite a bit of experience under her. That being said, those three from Galar seemed to be on their own, probably to watch the camp. Furthermore, part of me has my doubts they'd leave their entire stash of wishing pieces to be guarded by just two or three members. Perhaps at least enough to form enough to do that whatever-max stuff to defend their base; perhaps by the human. Last I checked, the three of us did not bring any...and worse, as powerful as Articuno is, I had my doubts that even Articuno could stand up to that. And if a Bronzong nearly made the bird go into a panic, a gigantic whatever certainly would...
"...suggestions." I said silently to the two of them. "I'm game for almost anything. Whatever it is, I can almost assure it probably won't go pretty."
