~Stir of echoes~ Matrias Fierno My birthday is in six days, and so is our indoor drumline show's first full performance. It's all awesome 'n stuff. Yeah. It's "Africa" themed. And our final competition is... this Saturday. And I get to put on a lion cape for the show and be the "hunted" in two of our songs. surprised And choir is going great, and I'm single again, and I'm in the ATG, and I finally found a copy of Mercenaries, and I'm gonna collapse from over-happiness. And my ex is talking to me again, and I might finally get back with her in two weeks when I'm not grounded anymore. razz Happy birthday, if i dont see you Thanks. I probably won't be on Gaia at all that day. If all goes well, I should have a new set of cymbals I'll need to "break in" for my drumset. biggrin

Sentama Lin Well... I think that students of any age (but preferably ones that are still minors) need as much love and care as any person. I've seen bad teachers who have forgotten the main goal of teaching - to care and love each student so that each can reach their highest potential. Now, I'm not stupid. I know I can't be Mr. Love for all of my students. But I have a talent for teaching and a talent for music. If I can make one student happy and personally successful, I will be happy. I don't need the money; I don't need wealth or possessions. While their nice, the talents that I will give students and their growth into wonderful adults will be my own reward. And... yeah. My parents wanted me to be a lawyer or a doctor because it's more high-paying and I'm still helping people. I see. So, you're in it for the sake of the students? Some band teachers I've had in the past have been... worthless scumbags, to put it nicely. A goood teacher is always a good thing in music. I just hope students don't partray you as some a*****e, as that seems to happen often.

I hope I don't become an a*****e, Mat. I've promised myself that the moment that I realize that I no longer possess the ability to love my students with all my might, I will quit teaching.
The government benefits of becoming a teacher are nice too. But... I'm not a very materialistic person. If I have money to spend that I don't absolutely need I'll splurge on myself or buy random gifts for people or donate. However that's rare. Like I said, I don't have too many wants in life. I'm just ready to do my best to make the world better.
I know I still sound stupid because I'm assuming the world is good. But... there's nothing wrong with thinking that and trying to make the world better is there?

No, I mean when you treat your students with the best, but make them follow rules, and they portray you as the big bad monster while really you're better then most other teachers. That's what it is for my band teacher. She's nice, but still some hate her. Maybe if they didn't mess up the timpanis or ruin the trapset then she wouldn't be pissed off at them. Idiots. Improving the world is a noble cause, and more people should be a little less selfish, and maybe we wouldn't have so many starving people. But there's always good in something. You just have to look at it from every direction.

Yeah. I'll improve the world a little bit in my own way.
As for the starving thing... we could either a) start a real-life Soylent project and give people Soylent Blue, Red, and Green to eat or b) find a way to get more edible plants to grow since edible plants are a better and more-efficient means of nutrition than meats.

I have to go... I shall attempt to be online tomorrow, but I don't know.
Thanks for talking, Lin. It's always fun.
I have to go "break out" some cymbals on my drumset, and then I'm off to bed. G'night, everyone.

I'm trying to review a spell I learned during my wiccan studies. I'm sure Celes-san would be able to help me figure out if this is correct.
