"Very well. Just tell me when you plan on moving out so I don't end up worrying over nothing. Okay?" Mala said, finishing up the chapter she was on before shutting the book and sitting herself up.

"Runic? Isn't that, like, Latin in terms of usefulness?" Van said drying his hands as he came out of the kitchen after doing the dishes.

"It's either that, or I'd need an escort to go anywhere in mom's place." Riley said.

"It gets more usful in more magically inclined areas, like non-human worlds and wizards' towers I think." Mala commented, remembering some of what she learned of it back in her days at the acadamy.

"Mom basically said the same thing, I just never thought I'd need it." Riley said rather flatly, having said the exact same thing before.

{Sorry for taking so long. One of my siblings was acting up, so I had to deal with it.}

Mala chuckled. "Don't worry about it. If the b***h makes things too difficult, let me know and I'll help out." she said in a positively cheerful manner.

"Mala, she was perfectly nice. I get why you're still mad at her and what not, but just give it a bit and you'll see she's not the horrible deserter you think she is." Riley said.

"You weren't the one left without a penny to spare and a child to take care of in your youth, were you? You weren't the one who had to do all sorts of horrid labour just to keep food on the table without resorting to prostitution. You weren't the one who went through countless humiliations just to make sure that you could keep on living outside of the worst district in the city! I can understand that you might forgive her, but don't ever expect that from me." Mala hissed, this clearly being a touchy issue for her.

"Mala, calm down. You should at least try to let the whole thing go, the stress isn't good for you." Van said setting the towel he was using on a kitchen counter before walking around to start massaging her shoulders and neck.

Late afternoon, some days later, Jaquel went hunting for Ariae. Somehow, not a single member of his harem could really satisfy him anymore after his night with the ex-angel.

Ariae was selling her wares in the streets, not making as much as the past few days. She had noticed most of her customers had come every day, and was paying for things that they didn't necessarilly need. More than likely, Ariae reasoned, they were just trying to somehow win her favor in some small way.

"I hope business is going well?" Jaquel said as he walked up, his devilish wings wrapped around him to keep them out of the way.

Ariae nodded, keeping that salesman smile on her lips as she looked over to him. "Better than where I was at last, but I think that's not so much of a 'we want clothes' as it's a 'the shopkeeper has tits and if I buy something I might get lucky' sort of thing."

"Well, I was hoping for more of your...other business...." Jaquel said leaning in slightly with his devilish smile. "I can't remember the last time I had such a good night, and the rest of my girls just can't compare. Clearly you've spoiled me."

Ariae smirked upon hearing this. Either he was hoping to somehow sweet talk her into a discount, or she was well worth what she charged him. "I told you I'm worth every gold piece. Just name the time, hand over the money, and you can have another."

"If I didn't have such wealth, I would've surely decided against such an...investment. However after before, I must certainly agree." Jaquel said handing over another nice bag of moolah, complete with a card inside that told her when to come over.

Ariae looked inside and grinned. She took out the card just before teleporting the money away to a safe-spot she kept. "That's good to know. I guess I'll see you then~" she said as she looked down at the information written on the card.
