spacePamela frowned and shrugged a bit when Aster asked what was up with the upperclassman, who she vaguely recognized as being in her house. "I dunno, she's weird. I see her in the Common Room sometimes, she's all... twitchy," she replied, nose crinkling. She wondered if she should feel bad about saying that. What if something was wrong with the older blonde? But, it wasn't like the girl had heard her, so it wouldn't hurt her any.
spaceReturning to the topic at hand, Pam frowned at her friend as they boarded the train, nudging her with her elbow. "You don't know! They might not mean to listen, but hear just enough. Or be really nosy! Some stick in the mud with no sense of adventure might tell our Heads of House! I mean... the forest is, like, dangerous! It'd be pretty irresponsible for them not to rat us out," she whispered, as quietly as she could manage while still being heard over the noise of people getting on the train. The statement that they'd just have to do more detention was met with a shrug. "C'mon, who's got time for that? Besides, I bet even if they did, after we came back from holiday, they'd be all 'You know what, I don't wanna do this, you learned your lesson, right?' and we'd be free. No one wants to put a punishment on hold for two whole months," she insisted, directing Aster to a car as she did so. They found an empty compartment, thankfully, and she settled in quickly as possible. She wanted to firmly establish this as Their Space. Not that she'd mind if some of their classmates joined them, but there were others she didn't want to see, and she sure as heck didn't want some older kids showing up and being all... well, older. Weird. Teenagers were weird.
spaceAster's comment that she couldn't wait until they were uppeclassman made her giggle, shaking her head. "No way! Upperclassmen have to take exams. And what if one of us got prefect? Or both of us? That'd be awful, we'd have to patrol the halls and be responsible and stuff!" She'd almost said they'd have to boss other kids around, but she bet that Aster would think that was a perk. The Hufflepuff really didn't fancy the thought of having to do that sort of thing, she mostly left the bossing around to Aster. "Besides, prefects have to be examples or whatever. It'd ruin all our fun!" Now, that, she was pretty sure would work on the Gryffindor. Her best friend absolutely hated anything that ruined her fun. And she'd really hate having to act all well-behaved just to impress some little kids. Of course, those little kids would only be slightly older than they were right now, but by the time they were fifteen, they'd probably seem like kids, she guessed.

【 LOCATION 】 outside the prefect cabin x 【 MOOD 】 nervous x 【 COMPANY 】 no one x 【 CLOTHING 】 the station
Lexine felt a strange sort of sadness wash over her as soon as she stepped foor onto the train – this was going to be one of the last times she’d step on this train while it was Hogwarts-bound… To think she was a Seventh year, and Head Girl, nonetheless. Lexine felt as if, only yesterday, her parents had to convince her to actually get on the train. It was her first year at Hogwarts, and she didn’t know what to expect. She sighed. Stop that… She told herself, passing by some empty cabins. Don’t start getting all sad and sappy yet, you still have an entire year ahead of you… Don’t start this… However, she couldn’t help it.
Lexine had a rather hard time keeping her mind where it should be, especially when stressed. She was still baffled by the fact that she was indeed a Seventh year. For most of the summer, Lexine was in a bit of denial. Even when her parents would talk about it, Lexine would pretty much refuse to believe it was her last year. It wasn’t until she got news she was Head Girl that it finally set in – it was her very last year at Hogwarts… No more cushion to fall back on after this. It was terrifying, and she couldn’t keep her thoughts away from it.
Instinctively, Lexine reached for her neck, attempting to cover up the already mostly-concealed burn marks creeping up her neck. That was another thing. The previous year she’d been injured, bad enough that not even the Mediwizards at St. Mungo’s could do anything but make sure it healed over, so she was now maimed with a disgusting scar running up her neck. She almost didn’t want people to see her, but was happy enough that she was able to cover it up with a scarf for the moment. That would probably be different in Hogwarts, she wouldn’t really be able to unless it was the heavy Ravenclaw scarves she wore in the winter, and she knew that wasn’t happening, especially no in Potions – it tended to get so hot in the rooms sometimes…
Lexine had to pause to draw in a breath. She leaned on the wall between the Prefect’s cabin and another vacant cabin. It didn’t seem like anyone else had arrived, so she might as well wait for someone to walk up to the cabin…that, and she wasn’t completely sure she was ready to step in. Lexine was required to actually talk to and interact with the other Prefects and, while Lexine had done at least a little bit of that in previous years, she wasn’t exactly prepared to be one of two head to the whole operation… If she remembered correctly, Dorian Xanders was Head Boy…she didn’t know the Hufflepuff well, and frankly she hoped he was more vocal than she was… Lexine wasn’t very good at speech-making, and knew they had to ‘lay down the law’ for the new Fifth years, if you could even call it that. Plus, Lexine hadn’t seen her friends all summer, it’d be nice to at least get a glance of them before she had to head in. Then again, was she really that excited about them seeing her? She sighed, slumping against the wall.

”Tha's always good; our summer was pretty slow too, lots of telly binge watching and eating junk food,” Axel patted his pot belly affectionately, the lack of exercise from lounging around on his couch all summer long had really thrown a bit of weight on him, luckily, he'd grown another inch or so and the weight had, for the most part, distributed evenly, except for those few fatty rolls that spilt over the waistband of his trousers. ”Alright fatty, put that belly away before anyone gets hurt,” she teased—it was the least she could do, considering how much he's ruined her strict diet of nuts and fruits and vegetables by rubbing his sugar powdered doughnuts in her face. If she'd eaten half of what he devoured, she'd be an inflated pig!
”Hahah, nooo, not a sea creature,” Camila giggled, and Axel took the initiative to butt in. ”—Though she bloody well could be—“ ”Shuttup, Axe. Mi abuelita is my grandmother,” ”—Kraken grandmother—“ ”she's always wanting us to visit her for the holidays, I'll just tell her much me mum misses her; that should be enough to get 'em out of the house for a while...” The duo seemed rather pleased with their half-baked scheme, until Axel seemed to notice one huge loophole. ”....But what if they make us go?” Axel turned his questioning stare on Camila; the Slytherin seemed taken aback for a moment as she blinked in rapid succession. ”....Uhhh, bullocks. Might need to think this through...”
”Well... while we work out the kinks of your brilliant plan, we ought to find a compartment... Or I guess, I better find one; you bloody prefects, have fun with the rest of the goody two-shoes,” Axel wrinkled his nose, obviously displeased at being singled out. ”Yeah, and try not to torment any first years, Axe,” his response was something along the lines of “yeah, whatever” but he didn't linger any longer after that. He parted ways as they climbed aboard the scarlet train to find an empty compartment, meanwhile, Camila followed Elijah into the prefects compartment, rather curious to see who made Head Boy and Girl, and which of the new fifth years had earned their promotion. She rather hoped to see Benji here, even if she knew it was a long shot; the boy was a troublemaker, and not a particularly sneaky one, either. But at least he would've been entertaining to watch. Instead, she spotted Lexine, a seventh year Ravenclaw, lounged up against the entrance to their prefects compartment. ”Hey Lex,” Camila greeted her as she passed her by and plopped into a seat with a bounce. She hardly knew the older girl, asides from their quidditch matches. ”So Eli, what classes did you drop? I got rid of Astronomy and History, finaaaallly.”

”Ayup,” Tristan turned to greet his housemate with a pointed nod and crooked smile; truth be told, he hadn't spent much time with the bloke, besides classes and being dorm mates, which, considering how much time that actually is, it's a wonder how the two hadn't spent more time together. But Tristan had always been a reclusive creature, and luckily for him, the other boys' didn't seem to mind that at all. ”Yeah well, Gia had it worse...” he shrugged; the last time they'd seen each other was after escorting Lori and Gia across the burning village and inside that grocery store, where he'd admittedly eaten a few of their fruits while waiting for the aurors to arrive. And even though he couldn't see, he could still feel his sister burning blue eyes into the side of his skull. Tristan couldn't blame her for wanting to know, yet she blamed him for not wanting to say. ”This is my little sister, Savannah—Vanna, this is Carver, he's one of my house mates,” he introduced each with a gesturing hand. ”Sheeee's a first year,” he pestered with a mocking tone, but she only seemed to roll her eyes and waggle her brows in that arrogant way of hers, like she knew something no else did. Savannah was shuffling her deck of playing cards, gaze shifted to the side to eye a few passerby's boarding the train. ”Tell me something you're worried about,” she gestured toward Carver, unraveling the deck face down so that each corner was visible and could be easily plucked. ”Then pick two cards...”
Tristan sighed, albeit silently, and leaned his weight against the trolley, it wasn't until he heard the last boarding call for the train that he realized he had to intervene. ”Oi, save it for the train, or we'll get left behind.” Tristan ushered his sister further ahead, and motioned for Carver to follow along as the group was swept into the current of students all boarding the train, they shuffled down the aisle between groups of reuniting friends and managed to snag an empty compartment near the rear end of the train. ”Finally, we've found one; now... you'll still play, won't you?”

Layton's smile was ever so bright as Selina held out her hands, taking them in his own (hey, this whole boyfriend thing wasn't so hard actually) and leaning in to give her a quick kiss on the cheek. "Sounds like you two had a good time, then. Mine was okay. After everything calmed down, things were just quiet and uneventful for the most part. Da' avoids me for the most part," he said the last part with a bit of sadness in his tone, but he had had all summer to get used to it.
Kai cleared his throat, looking to Hannah and acting like he hadn't heard anything. He hadn't seen what had gone on, but obviously he learned some of the specifics during the summer. "Uh, mine was okay. Kept to myself for the most part. Slept a lot." He chuckled slightly, rubbing the back of his head.
Layton was a bit surprised at Lola's polite greeting, though she had always been a nice Ravenclaw so he guessed it wasn't entirely implausible that she didn't hate him. Either that, or she just didn't know. If she didn't, Layton didn't want to be the one to tell her and get on her bad side, if she even had one. What was he supposed to say anyway? 'Hey, I beat up my brother and your crush because of my anger issues'? Nah, he'd let Devonte tell her, if he ever did. He shrugged his shoulders when Lola asked Devonte's whereabouts, not really attempting to look around in the thick crowd. "With Hamilton, maybe? I'm not my brother's keeper." When she added the last bit, Layton suddenly remembered their Defense Against the Dark Arts class last year, when it came out that Lola wasn't entirely human. Layton didn't have a problem with it, but he knew that Devonte probably did. Even though that probably wasn't the exact reason he wasn't here right now, Lola would be likely to believe it. "Maybe." As the whistle blew, the white-haired boy teenager looked to the train, seeing that it was starting to move out. "Well, we should probably get a compartment now."

spaceIvy had somehow managed not to glare at Vio when the blonde approached, which was sort of impressive, as far as she was concerned. She was in a really, really bad mood, after all. "My stupid father has a stupid muggle girlfriend," she bit out, not bothering with any pleasantries. Hey, Vio had asked, right? "I don't even think she knows I exist. They've been together for ages and she has no clue he has a kid. Meanwhile I stole his phone for all of a minute and found that she has two, and that my dad took them to a rugby game on one of their birthdays." The venom in her voice was obvious. She was not pleased with this turn of events. It was maddening! He was her father, dammit, she was the one he was supposed to take to rugby games! Not that she really cared about rugby all that much, but still! Not for the first time, she mentally cursed her mother for being stupid and not telling her father about her being from a magical family. She had to've known this would happen, Ivy reasoned. She had to know that her dad couldn't handle it, otherwise she would've told him! Instead, no, she'd just kept her mouth shut, and hoped to God that Ivy wouldn't be magical, either. So much for that bloody plan!
spaceThe redhead's expression was a cross between a furious glare and a pout when Addie arrived, asking just as Vio had, though somewhat less tactfully. Ivy snorted. "Not unless one of my parents are within range to get caught in the blast radius," she hissed, nose wrinkling, her brow furrowing. "My dad's got a girlfriend, she's got kids, I'm being replaced with a family not made up of magical freaks. Blah blah blah." As she spoke, she grew more and more bitter sounding. After a second, she realized what she'd said, and huffed. "Not that we're freaks. My dad just thinks we are. Because he's a jerk," she muttered, not wanting to upset Vio or Addie or make one of them mad at her for insinuating that there was something wrong with being a witch.
spaceThe train whistle blew then, calling them to board, and Ivy shoved off of the wall to push her trolley. As she walked, she whined, "Mum wouldn't even tell me. She's always lying about everything! Keeping stupid secrets because she's too bloody scared of what'll happen when she tells the truth! That's why they got divorced in the first place, she let him think she was just a muggle, when I had magic, he freaked out." Right now, the Gryffindor girl wasn't sure which of her parents she was more pissed at. She knew one thing, though, her dad had definitely hurt her more. Her mum lying, she was used to. Happened all the bloody time. But her dad had always been there for her and been reliable. And he'd loved her. Except now she wondered if that was even true. As she boarded the train, she searched for a compartment, hoping to find one empty. She didn't feel like dealing with anyone except her friends right now. She might hurt someone. Actually, if Hamilton or Devon wanted to live to see the castle, they'd better stay far, far away from her.

spaceLori sighed somewhat when Gia immediately asked about her mother, figuring it was to be expected. She did wish that there was something more interesting she could talk about as far as what she'd done, but frankly, her Summer had been pretty boring. Even the time spent with Les had been fairly monotonous. She shrugged. "Overall it wasn't horrible. I saw more of Lindsay than I care to, but other than that, it could have been worse," she said simply. She wondered why it bothered her so much that Gia had apologized to Carver for not inviting him over, when the Italian had yet to even extend and invitation for her to stay. She pushed the feeling aside, not liking it one bit. She didn't want to be jealous of their friendship. It wasn't as though she wanted a monopoly on Gia's attention, after all. She just would've liked to have the option of seeing the other girl over the Summer. Still, that was selfish, and she wished the notion would go away. It wasn't like she didn't have other friends, after all. Or, well. She had one. But that was a shaky relationship at best, all things considered. She wondered if that was why she clung to Gia so hard; if Tristan did decide he didn't want to be friends anymore, Gia would be all she had.
spaceThe Slytherin sighed, wondering if perhaps she should make more of an effort to befriend her classmates. She'd made some efforts to form a friendship with Carver since he and Gia had bonded, but didn't think it had been even remotely effective. Tristan had happened mostly on accident. If she tried, would it not work out because she was putting forth too much effort? Then again, simply observing hadn't done much for her... She was drawn from her thoughts by Carver commenting on... Gia's chest? A quick perusal showed Lori that her friend had definitely grown over the Summer, which, knowing the other girl, was probably proving annoying. She frowned somewhat at the boy; hell, maybe they were friends after all. He didn't speak to her any less kindly than he did to Gia, after all. "I would recommend taking a few steps back," she suggested, a brow arching. "We're not to the school yet, you're safe from her so long as you're out of range of her punches or kicks." She glanced at Gia, shrugging. "He is a thirteen year old boy, after all. I think such things are to be expected... Perhaps you should come up with a system of some sort. He should stare when you're not looking, and each time you catch him, he owes you a small favor. That would work much better than insisting he not look at all."
spaceHer statement was punctuated by the last call for boarding, and she smiled faintly. "Hm, perhaps stave off your ogling until we reach the school, Carver. It'll be much more difficult to evade her in the confined space of the train compartments," she said smoothly, and then began boarding the train. She found a compartment easily enough, sliding in before it could be claimed by anyone else. She disliked the idea of being trapped with a hoard of first years... For starters, Gia would likely scar them for life. Carver, too. That was assuming the pair even sat with her, which she knew she had no promise of. She knew she might've annoyed them both just now... Well, hopefully someone would be along to keep her company, then? Her yearmates all seemed to be friendly enough with one another, perhaps it would extend to her if given the opportunity. She could only hope.

ⓀⒾⓁⒺⓎ ⒶⓃⒹ ⓀⒾⓂⒷⒺⓇⓁⓎ ⓊⓂⒷⒺⓇ Ravenclaw | Second Years | Gryffindor
This is the story of a girl who cried a river and drowned the whole world. And while she looked so sad in photographs, I absolutely love her when she smiles. Summer had ended, which meant the school term was quickly approaching. In fact, it was practically upon them. Saying goodbye to their mother, the twins each kissed her cheek and went on their way. Hand in hand, the pair wandered the platform, dropping off their luggage and cats to be loaded onto the train, until last call was made. Kimberly and Kiley climbed aboard the train and found an empty cabin. They sat down next to each other, Kimberly next to the window. "Are you excited for this year, Ki?" Kimberly asked.
"Yeah, I guess so," she replied, taking a book out of her bag and opening up to her marked page. She wasn't as hyped about the other aspects of school, mostly her classes. Another year meant new spells to learn. "I'm gonna tryout for Quidditch, so you should join a club or something. You need to get out more," Kimberly responded, looking out the window at the other students filing into the train. "Maybe. I'll have to think about it," Kiley said, flipping a page in her book. It wasn't really her 'thing' to go out and look for social groups to join.
She's a wild one with an angel's face. She's a woman-child in a state of grace. When she was 3 years old on her daddy's knee, he said you can be anything you want to be.

You don't have to be afraid to put your dream in action You're never gonna fade you'll be the main attraction
Cordelia climbed up the stairs to board the Hogwarts Express. She was one of the first ones who waited until last call for boarding to get on, so she still managed to find a compartment before they all filled up and she was stuck riding the train with a bunch of hot headed meanies. The Hufflepuff pretty much only talked to students in her house or students in her year. Considering she never attended any of the Quidditch games, or even paid much attention to people who didn’t directly impact her everyday life, it wasn’t odd that she didn’t really know many of the kids at her school. Although Cora was one for having fun, she wasn’t one for getting involved with anything that didn’t poke her interests. The girl decided she didn’t like sports a whole lot, so Quidditch was out. Sure, she liked singing, but did she really want to hear everyone else sing? Not really, so the Music Club was out, and dueling wasn’t something she wanted to do in her spare time, either. Besides those three seemingly popular extracurricular activities, Hogwarts had a few more. Too bad Cordelia was absolutely terrible at writing, didn’t want to join choir or the orchestra, and didn’t need to join a therapy group. There was nothing wrong with her – minus the fact that she managed to repress any memory she had of Dalton. Maybe she would remember if she tried hard enough, but she didn’t want to. She didn’t want to remember seeing a red light fly out of a cloaked man’s wand and hit Dalton. She didn’t want to remember leaving him behind with Alexandria while Bella and her got home safely, both of them scared and crying. She didn’t want to remember her brother’s lifeless body in Alex’s arms the following day. And she also didn’t want to see a thestral pulling her carriage with the painful reminder that she’s seen death. Like any other year, however, she will see the skeletal horse-like creature no matter how much she wished she could just not. Maybe if she tried hard enough to forget Dalton ever existed, she wouldn’t see the winged beast ever again, and then she could really pretend his death never happened. If only that was how it worked...
