"So she's the one that's always tired and I'm the one insisting to help around the house more...Yep, I'm a housewife." Adrian muttered to himself while remembering the teasing they did back in the arena. "Ah well, she needs a break." he said to himself with a smile as he fixed himself a cup of cocoa as well.

"I think she's just really tired." Calista observed, walking in the kitchen with Hazama, having him get her a cookie. "Mommy said her medicine usually gave her bad dreams, so she didn't sleep very well. But she's been sleeping a whole lot more since you came back."

"I figured as much." Adrian said smiling down at Calista. "You'll understand when you're older how much it sucks to be away from the person you love." he said ruffling her hair a bit. "Now we can't have you filling up on cookies and sweets for dinner, so what do you think we should have? Christmas is over for the year, so we no longer have any reason to make something nice." he said setting his mug aside. "I figure Amaya'll be up by the time it's time to eat."

"I like chicken stir fry. Mommy said it's one of the only healthy things she's good at making that she likes, so we eat it a lot." Calista said with a smile as she looked up at him, Hazama nodding his head quietly in agreement.

"Stir fry it is!" Adrian said rolling up his sleeves to get to work. "And next year I am definitely getting her a cookbook."

"She has one. But she usually makes stir fry or Japanese food." Calista said as she took a seat at the counter to watch Adrian.

"I feel like I should be more surprised than I am." Adrian commented. "If she could stand to have something different for a change she should just let me handle the cooking. It sounds like you two really need more variety."

"There's variety in Japanese food. There's a lot of different seafood and vegetables and mommy makes me obento lunches for school. She said she just usually liked it more and that's all her mommy ever showed her how to make." Calista argued. "And she makes pasta when she doesn't want to eat stir fry or Japanese food." She added.

"Well hopefully I can get you two to eat something other than Japanese food and pasta." Adrian said as he began adding things to the skillet. "My mom was a chef so she insisted on teaching me how to cook every meal imaginable." he said with a faint smile at the memory of his pre-mutate days.

"Just trust me when I say a lot." Adrian said with a small chuckle. "She loved to cook and loved food, so she'd have us eating from just about every ethnic group you could think of. To varying degrees of success of course."

"Definitely taco night." Adrian said with a grin. "Mom'd just spread out all the ingredients on the counter and we'd go down the line making our own tacos."

"It just depends on how you cook the meat. It can be flavorful but still mild. I should know, I couldn't stand the slightest bit of spice when I was a kid." Adrian said raising his voice a little over the sizzling of the food as it cooked.
