Lucian smiled again and continued to lean on Joey. Everytime Joey leaned farther away, Lucian stayed the same, but leaning over more to reach Joey. He laughed and said in his head, 'If you keep leaning farther away...I might end up falling on you, then those images you had earlier might come true.' He teased Joey and continued to nuzzle him.

Joshua stared at Lorelei. That is, until he realized what he was doing and looked away, blushing. Still looking away, he searched his memory, frowning slightly. "Lorelei. Lorelei. Lorelei." Her murmured the name under his breath. Shaking his head, Joshua looked up at Katalina, a wistful smile on his face. "Nope. Don't know this one. Closest I can think is a ghost. And ghosts aren't usually so self-aware." His eyes flickered up to the semitransparent figure. "Do you mind if I ask what you are? Seems you are the only one, if you're "The" Lorelei."

Joey stared at Lucian, a slight blush creeping to his face. He turned his head and stopped leaning. He straightened. "You sure are friendly, I will give you that. You also seem to like speaking in the first person...I kinda find that slightly amusing." He offered a slight smile.

Lorelei smiled. "You ask too much of him, perhaps, Sorry," she said softly. Her voice was very sing-song, and it almost had the quality of an accent to it. "I have only recently come to your waters - German legends rarely interest people outside of Germany."
She turned her beatific smile onto Joshua. "I am the Lorelei, the harbinger of doom to ships caught in the rapids," she told him gently.

Rosalina had wandered away a bit. She was sitting on a rock sticking out from the water a bit from shore. Still in sight of Lucian and Joey, but far enough away to give them their privacy. She was lonely. She had always been a little bored. There weren't any people that she didn't know since she was born in her village and the town was too far away. Now she was finally actually meeting new people and they all seemed........wrapped up in their own little group. She felt kind of excluded. She sang a song her mother had taught her. The breeze carried her voice back to the boys.
"Let the waves wash away the worry, Let the sorrow disappear, Listen to the sound of the breeze, As it whispers its secrets in your ear.
Fly above the ocean, Swim with the current, Travel far and wide, Join the legends of the seas.
Dragons, serpents, creatures of every kind, Await you in those brilliant depths, Gone in the blink of an eye, Just believe........oh believe."

Joshua's mouth soudnlessly formed and "O". He stared at Lorelei for a moment. He shook his head to bring himself back to reality. "Germany, eh? That would be the reason. I know some legends from other countries but usually the more extravagant ones that come back with others." He smiled up at Lorelei. She had sparked his curiosity even more than Kra and Lucian had. "How are you the Lorelei? It doesn't make sense how there's only one."

Joey stopped as he heard singing. He turned his head and saw the other girl. He listened to her sing. He would have felt bad about excluding her, but it had happened too many times to him for Joey to feel bad. He sighed, stood, and walked over to her. He walked in the water and stood next to rock she was on, not looking at her, but gazing off in the distance.

Lucian smiled and watched Joey leave. He stood and stretched and then dived into the water. The coolness felt good on his skin. He then swimmed alittle out and started to dig where the boat sunk, hoping to find things he would like. He piled a lot of can drinks into his pouch as well as food that wasn't damaged.

Joey watched Lucian for a bit then opened his mind up. I swear, if I find any of my food, drinks, or shiny personal belongings gone, then I will have your head. He glanced at the girl, waiting to be noticed.

Rosalina smiled down at Joey. "The ocean's beautiful, isn't it?" she asked looking back out over the waves. The little waves that brushed against the rock caressed her bare feet and there was a light breeze toying with her dark curls.

He nodded and continued to stare out at sea. "Indeed." He could feel the water moving between his legs. It felt relaxing for him.

((OOC: I should probably actually go look up the Lorelei again. I did once, but now I've forgotten most of it, and I probably can't BS my way through it. >.>))
Lorelei smiled. "Because a ghost doesn't need parents," she replied smoothly. "The legend of the Lorelei insists that as a human, I drowned myself over a faithless lover. I did not, for the record," she added. "They also claim that I became a siren, which I didn't. I just became...myself. The Lorelei."
She sighed. "I've earned a very bad reputation among humans. As they believe me a siren, they think I sing, as sirens do, to destroy the boats. I don't." Then she shook herself out of her reverie and laughed lightly. "But come, I am keeping you there while I talk about myself. Let me come down and join you." She stepped out of the cavern and gave an eerie impression of walking down the sheer cliff that lay between her and the water. She resettled herself on a rock tip just above the water. "Now, let me say - hello, Sorry." Then she looked at Joshua. "Who are you, and what do you wish to know?

Joshua watched as Lorelei came down the cliff. "That looked very odd." He muttered to himself. He looked at her and smiled. "I'm Joshua. And I want to know...." He paused and trailed off, thinking of the best way to phrase it. "Well, everything really. Everything that concerns the sea in any way." 'That sounded cheesy. Even to me.' He shook his head. "Okay, let's narrow that down for right now. If humans have the story all wrong, then what's the real story?" Joshua loved it when the myths and legends turned out to be completely wrong. It might have seemed backwards, but he liked the fact that he knew what very few, if any at all, people knew.

Lorelei laughed a little. "The real story is a little shorter, and a lot more prosaic," she said, somewhat wistfully. "I almost wish I could tell you I killed myself over a lover. It's so...I don't know, tragically romantic. But no. It was merely a mistake."
She smiled wearily. "Not an accident, mind you - a mistake." Lorelei leaned forward and said earnestly to Joshua, "You must understand, she didn't mean to kill me when I was pushed. I was just at the wrong place on the cliff at the time. I know she was miserable for years afterwards."
Continuing with her story, she said, "I spent a while floating in the dark. I wasn't ready to go on, and couldn't go back. But eventually, I found a place." She shook her head with a little smile. "I was young, and I was lonely. If I had died on the ocean rocks, I knew others would as well. I did not want to be alone."
She shrugged. "So I awaited sailors, by the rapids, among the rocks. Eventually, I became linked inextricably with death - even if I wished not to be. Every time I was seen, the ship would crash upon the rocks. So..." she paused and sighed, "when I grew tired of seeing this, of watching the death agonies of men among the rocks, I left Germany. I came here, and I hope to find a way to live here in peace."
With a gesture that took in the rapids, she said, "But I have become a warning to all sailors, and I cannot survive away from the rapids. That is why I made this place my home."
She inspected Joshua's face, and laughed quietly. "Have I shocked you?" she asked gently. "Is there anything else you would like to know?"

Joshua stared at Lorelei. "Well....That was...different." It was nothing like what she said the myth was. "But also fascinating." He mulled the story over in his head. "So the sailors were killed by their own choices in maneuvering?" He wanted to clarify this point. "But why can't you survive away from rapids? Also, how did you get here then? Is there rapids that go from Germany to here?" He didn't think there was, but of course, he could have been completely wrong. But he had to know. 'The Lorelei is such an intriguing....person?' He thought that might be the wrong word for her, seeing as she wasn't alive in the sense of the word. But it was the best he could think of at the moment.
