Girl I was talking about minded it a great deal. For instance in a class I was in with her we had a rape awareness thing with the teachers where he would talk about rape (I think it was required for him to do so)

One of the kids asked "So what? It's just sex isn't it?" and she went ballistic

First she just sat there with a terrified look on her face and her breathing got a little shallow. Then the guy kept going about how women were bound to enjoy sex so it's not so bad. "Who doesn't want sex?" he said.

Teacher tried reasoning with him but by then it was too late. She walked out of the room and when the teacher went to see what was wrong she just started yelling at him to leave her alone. It was loud too.

Teacher figured something the guy had said pissed her off so made him apologize so he went outside and got a black eye.

I have no idea why the hell the teacher didn't do anything about it. All that happened was she got suspended. The teacher was an a** and didn't care much about anyone since he didn't want anything to do with me when I tried to talk to him later so maybe that had something to do with it.

Many years later in high school there were two guys sharing rape jokes when two men said they had been raped as children and that they were going to tell the VP on them were they not to stop doing that and never ever do it again. They did of course. They did it immediately too.

Last instance was here on gaia. In one of my guilds there was a woman who had been raped by her father as a child and over 20 years later she's still not over it. She will not under any circumstances drive with only men unless they're her husband.

Some guy in the guild made rape jokes and wouldn't stop so she left the guild and left gaia when the guild leader didn't ban him.

I'd say that rape is a serious issue and it ruins lives so no, I don't take it lightly but that's just me. I've been tainted by watching my best friend suffer.
