Just going back a few pages agina to the Mary Sue discussion. Not all Mary Sues are bad. The problem begins when a hundred too many clichés are being used and is often compounded by terrible grammar. Though, for those who do enjoy feeding Mary Sues to mini-Balrogs, has anyone here ever read 'The Protectors of the Plot Continuum' (PPC) or 'The Official Fanfiction University of Middle-earth' (OFUM)?
