They walked/swam from the north...
Svalbard is not to far from the north pole you know....
there's a safety requirement to have a rifle with you if you are going for a long walk xP. otherwise you could end up a bears lunch

Some map makers forget to consider for summer/winter changes, also Polar bears can swim relatively far.

I've heard stories of hunters tracking polar bears over great distances, only to find that the bear had doubled back and begun tracking them...

I'm not sure if any of them are true, though...

It is, they teach you about it in norwegian schools xP
they give you dart rifles now though, they don't want you blasting them to pieces

Heh, I am literally in the middle of nowhere sweatdrop About 1.5 hours from Houston, 2 hours from Austin, 3 from San Antonio, and I believe 4 hours from Dallas =P

Sure if that's what you wanna call it sweatdrop I'm just surrounded by all the tiny little farm towns. I pass through like 7 of them on the way to my uncle's place in Austin (it gets a bit annoying too cuz you'll be going like 70+mph for a while and then you're forced to pass through the little hick towns at like....30 >.<)

Though the being-in-the-middle-of-nowhere thing is sorta offset by my city being a college town sweatdrop So....yeah.

Back in the summer I saw a cougar here! At first I thought it was a really big fox, until I got a glimpse of it's tail. That's when my brain put the image together in my head properly. It was cool!

Is it really as hot as they say it is in Texas?
