Ophelia pouted a little. "How very like you to say that." She was slightly annoyed that she could apparently do nothing more than she already did. Still, that didn't stop her from reciprocating the hug in the least.

Okay, that was weird. Admittably she didn't expect much of a response to that, but the one given was outright strange. She gave him a funny look for a couple fleeting moments before promptly dismissing the thought. Ophelia leaned in to rest her forhead on his, matching 'Kaistern's' awkward smile with a sweet smile of her own. "I'm not going to give up on this. I refuse to be the dead weight that keeps us both down like I was before."

"You're not dead weight. When did you ever keep us down? If anyone's to blame it's me and my poor self-esteem." Technically that was true for whichever personality was in control. Kaistern was convinced he was a bad king and Balthazar was starting to have an existential crisis.

Ophelia neglected to mention just how many times she got kidnapped/assaulted/harassed before they met, as the number was embarassingly high. "You both always had to come to my rescue, causing so much uneeded stress and strife when you already had so much pain and irritation as it is..." Admittably, this was something that always egged at her self-esteem. It didn't help that they progressively got worse after she and Kaistern married.

"When you've been needlessly put into peril as much as I have, you tend to wonder..." Ophelia held a sad puppy-dog sort of look in her eyes before promptly snapping herself out of it. "Still, that's kind of you to say. Thank you.." She'd never openly admit it, but sometimes Ophelia needed to be reassured about things. She needed to be told that everything would be okay and that the latest crisis-to-be wasn't her fault.

Funnily enough, all three of them needed reassurance every now and then, not that a single one would ever admit it. "You know I'm always here whenever you need me." Balthazar said nuzzling her cheek a bit with a kind smile.

"With someone as troublebound as I am, it certainly is." Ophelia let out a hearty chuckle before moving to plant a kiss on Balthazar's cheek. Still under the impression that she was speaking to Kaistern, she murmured, "I love you."

Ophelia didn't dare break the kiss. If anything, she started getting more and more passionate with each passing moment. She'd certainly gotten over the shyness she used to suffer from, that was certain.

((I'll have to wait it later, I'm in anime club right now. I just bring the ol' lappy with me since there's one show I don't give a rat's a** about. xD ))
Sure enough, clothes did come off, although Balthazar was the one to start removing clothing, something Kaistern never did. The old king enjoyed the activity as much as anyone did, but he was still just a bit too timid to be the instigator of the act.

Ophelia found it surprising, if oddly refreshing that 'Kaistern' was taking the initiative for once. As one can imagine, that only encouraged her to be even friskier than normal. By the time they were through Ophelia had a huge grin plastered upon her lips, even as she struggled to catch her breath. All the while she was still completely oblivious of Kaistern's not being the active personality for the moment being. Nevertheless, she was cuddled up next to him and - once she caught her breath - whispering sweet nothings all the while. She made no move to get up. After all, the paperwork she abandoned earlier could wait for just a bit longer.
