One of my friends broke his ankle last year whilst playing football.
I would have more sympathy for him, but after it happened, he got back up and continued playing.
xd And it's not like he didn't know it was broken. He got up, said something to the effect of "Damn, it's broken again" And carried on.
The fool.
xd Well... something similar happened to me a couple years ago... I was moving a couple heavy boxes and turned my ankle (my foot was perpendicular to my leg). I thought I'd just sprained it, and was scheduled a triple shift (7 am to 11 pm, roughly), I was able to do my work in the office, hobbling around as needed. After the second shift, it wasn't feeling ANY better, so I mentioned to my boss (who's been one of my best friends since before either of us worked there) that maybe I should get it checked out. He agreed, so I drove myself to the hospital. AS it turned out, I'd broken the end of my fibula, below the ankle joint, and severely sprained my ankle. I had a boot on my foot (no cast, thank heavens) for a few months, and that was that. I still have a little, um, whatsit that I'm supposed to wear if I'm going hiking or anything (but seldom do).
The real corker? I was due to move two days after the accident. The company I work for chipped in and helped, covering the cost of the truck and getting several of my co-workers to help move stuff. (And they bought pizza and pop, too!)
AAAAAAAAnyway. ^_^
