Aresoth didn't seem to really seem to believe Cynosuth when she told him it was nothing, but he wasn't given the chance to say anything or ask anything else about it because Menankith had come down as well. The bronze looked his brother brother over, seeing that he was the worse for wear but not too horrible either. Macuith and his soon joined them as C'ryn came back as well, carrying the spare straps.

The young man paused some as he saw the crowd but walked over anyways, busying himself soon with putting the straps back on. He had hurried and gotten them as quick as he could and he was making sure they were as tight as could be, without harming Aresoth at least. Doing okay? He could tell there was something bothering the bronze, but Aresoth just nodded his head for a moment, his whirling eyes looking over Cynosuth. I will see you up there, Cynosuth dear. The bronze spoke this as C'ryn got back into his straps, cinching himself in.

In a moment that took a bit too much effort in the Bronze's opinion, they were back in the air once more. Aviroth, we are back.

Back in the fray, Aresoth soon was back to chasing Thread this way and that. Of course at one point he ended up too close to a tangle of Thread and tried to move around it, banking sharply as he did so. The sudden pain C'ryn felt in his right shoulder made the young man bite down hard on his lip, causing a small bit of blood.

FLYING SECOND WAVE
Mid-Altitude

Hold tight and look fast, we're needed over there. Apparently Oyath had been keeping more of an eye on her wingmates than A'ye had been, as she sudden announcement snapped him from his focus to see where they were going. He knew the movement would pull them out of formation, but likely his green didn't care and he wasn't going to say anything otherwise. Oyath was proud of the Burning Aces wing and would always do her part to help.

Holding on as he was instructed, A'ye looked to where they needed to go and helped his dragon blink over just in time to flame down the clump of Thread and assist their wingmate. Nice job, Oyath.

The green snorted, clearly pleased. As if I could do anything else.

Round 3, Part 1:
roll 1: You're so focused on flaming Thread that you miss a clump of thread blows up on the wind -- beneath you! If a green, or blue, you manage to jump Between ahead of it. Thankfully, your smaller size means you're able to avoid getting harmed! [+1 Between Accuracy]
roll 2: A larger clump of Thread falls down hard and fast. Thankfully, your dragon is on top of it, and manages to hit the target with a large belch of flame just as it passes. [+1 Target Accuracy]
roll 3: Flaming down Thread, you find yourself getting blown right into the cloud of ash! It stings and burns, but you're pretty sure no Thread was alive in the cloud. [If a green, or blue take Moderate Damage -5HP but gain +2 Pain Resistance.]
roll 4: As you're fighting Thread, you see your nearby wingmate in danger. You immediately blink between, falling out of formation, but hoping to save them! Roll a D4. - 2. Regardless of color, you appear close by, and flame the clump of thread successfully! [+1 Between Accuracy]

There was truly no actual winning when it came to which wave W'tarl took Altoth up with - but he had better consistent success with taking her up second. But as tired dragons fell in, the green began to kreel again in hopes that maybe just this time she could stay down here! Yeah!

But it wasn't to be as the man settled into her straps, and she knew it. I have never let you down before, sweetheart. You know you can count on me, alright? he stroked a headknob lovingly and she leaned into it, yellow and grey whirling through her eyes. But...he was right, and she leaned all of her mental worry only her lifemate as she launched up from the ground.

A single blink and they were soon with their wing - some of which weren't looking quite the best. Oh! Oh goodness! Oh!! OH!!!!!!! The stress immediately kicked in, and W'tarl threw the weight of his calm onto Altoth's mind to settle it. She let out a small warble of upset, but continued forward.

Still, the presence of her bonded's mind was calming enough to maybe...pass a little bit of it on?

Sam’kel of Blue Kinitarth

The call finally came. Time to head in. The weariness in both of their bones was felt, and now that relief from anxiety and de-escalating addrenaline in their veins made even such a low altitude feel so heavy. Kinitarth bugled, before snapping between at the signal.

The sight of home was never more welcoming, and Kinitarth circled to land.. not quite that gracefully, but his strained shoulder could take no more. At least they were in good hands now. All that was left to do was wait until the second wave finished.

I do not yet tire, W'dre. Come, let us burn out the corruption. his bonded reminded, snaking through the new blues and greens like the dark ominous creature he was to flame an unpleasant looking patch of thread even before they could.

Hmmph.

The call went out and Tyra was already in her straps, ready to take off. Orodreth was eager as well, in his own quiet and determined way. The blue had been watching the sky, keeping an eye on those he cared about, those he called friends. There was one blue in particular that caught his eye as places were switched.

Krahsujunth, you at least left some for me to flame, did you not? He reached to the other blue's mind, a soft and confident touch as he spoke. There was also a deep respect for the blue as well, able to follow his ambitions and dreams as he had.

D'mon hadn't been lying. You had thought he would make a joke out of it Mine? The wind was rough up here, what had caused Tyra that comment from before. It tossed Thread about pretty nastily as well but thankfully Orodreth had the agility to avoid it easily.

Macuith gave Menankith a very obvious look over. With the brown posed so nicely for Dr'stan's benefit, the blue dragon could hardly stop himself from happily taking advantage of such a scenario. He made his own thorough inspection, and found Menankith in fine, fine, shape. You do deserve being tended to, dearest Menankith. Should you ever need a little loving care, or any kinks worked out, you know exactly where to find me. The blue crooned, with perhaps a faint touch of purple in those eyes.

If C'lusi wasn't so concerned about Nadry, he would have laughed. His blue was getting bolder, though the man also knew Macuith had given up hope that any of his clutchsibs would favor him. It was why he had gone out and found himself a terribly handsome bronze. But the fondness and love Macuith held for his clutchsibs, particularly Menankith, Xochith, and Thanoth, was entirely sincere.

Well, better watch out, here comes our Wingsecond now. The blue gave a happy and welcoming trill to Aresoth, eyes whirling his usual bright blue-green. You and Yours are looking fine, Aresoth! And that wasn't exactly a lie. Still, he looked back at Menankith to continue. I can't wait to get up and help. I'm sure you'll make a fine figure, ruggedly dodging Thread, taking hits from Thread so others don't have to. You'll be quite a proper hero by the end of it, won't you? The blue cooed, imagining how nice a sight that would be....

C'lusi, though, did breath a sigh of relief when Nadry confirmed it was just to get checked over. His concern turned back into his usual bright and cheerful smile. "Oh, good. I'm glad you're not taking too many chances, and aren't risking anything; I've seen some ugly wounds down here... And I know you guys still have two hours to go. But he's looking good! You both are, really. I've no doubt we'll all get through okay." He added confidently.

He was just about to say more when Macuith nudged him.

It's almost time, Mine.

"Whoops. I gotta get Mac ready, but you guys take care, okay? We'll see you up there! We've got your back!"

- - - -

With quick work, when the call came, the blue pair was ready.

One.
Two.
Three.

Out of Between and into the thick of it..... A silver tangle caught Macuith's eye, and the blue immediately made an attempt to get the silver death. Unfortunately, his aim was off, and instead, the silver caught his foreleg instead. The pain surprised both rider and dragon -- though they quick jumped Between.

Reappearing, C'lusi winced. We'll do better next time, won't we Mac?

Of course! I was just too good looking for it to resist wanting to be close.

FLYING SECOND WAVE
Mid-Altitude

They were doing well enough, considering the wind was blowing hard and there were riders in various locations about the pair. A'ye kept his focus on the clumps of Thread in their path, and Oyath worked her magic by flaming the down. They had plenty of experience, or at least about as much as everyone else currently flying in their wing, so there was nothing to fear as long as they followed their training.

Nothing to fear so long as others followed their training too. The wings had worked so hard together, though likely not as much with other wings as A'ye would have preferred, but it was serving everyone well. It should have been serving them well, except -

- there was a sudden shriek inside Oyath's mind, and the green reacted before her rider could even think to figure out what was happening. By the time he gained his senses from the sudden jump Between he noticed that the space he'd been in was filled with fresh ash, likely from the dragon who was sheepishly darting off. If it hadn't been for that call they would have been directly in the path of fire.

ORODRETH!! The green bellowed his name, calling to the blue. .....thank you. It was ridiculously hard for her to say thanks, but the feeling of relief over being made aware far outweighed her personal misgivings.

thank you!

Peresa and Shoggoth didn’t need asked twice to join the fray. They hated thread, and lived for violence...especially the weyr-sponsored kind. Still rankled at being relegated to flying with ‘babies’ they regardless fell in line...for now. A falling charred bit drew first blood, draping over Shoggoth’s wing and making her scream defiance as she slid between. It had hurt...but really it was only getting the huge green’s blood up.
