"Torture and pain I could've handled easily." Maya sighed under her breath. But now Fid had put himself on the line for her. "I can tell you what I know of my family, but my family is just one of several families in the Dwarven mines right now. Intel on the other families was taken care of by my younger brother, not me, so any information about them would be limited." She told him, taking a seat on the bed since her legs were still weak.

He nodded and shrugged. Smiling, "They only wanted stuff on your family. Anymore would be too much to ask for. And your torture and pain I could not handle easy." He couldn't he liked her too much. It would devastate him to see her hurt. Like during the fight when he let out his anger. That was years of pent up fury.

"What am I to you?..." Maya asked quietly, now looking at him with her cold eyes. "Do you view me as some sort of animal you wish to keep as a pet?" She asked, her brow furrowing a little. His reactions were not normal to her, and she didn't want to belong to someone like that.

He was startled by her question. Shocked, he stumbled a bit when he spoke. "Why wou- Do I really give that vibe?" He gave her a saddened look. He never wanted her to feel that way. "I just wanted you to stay safe. At least safe from the elves. I'm sorry. I'll come back later." He turned to leave.

"Safety is not a concept known by my race." Maya explained, grabbing his shirt lightly to keep him from leaving, though she released him soon after. "I'm confused by your actions is all that bothers me. I don't understand your feeling of needing to protect me. I don't understand why you've put your reputation on line for my sake. I accepted the dangers that the surface brings by coming up here. And you seem more worried than I am."

He shrugged. Turning to her, he looked her in the eye. "Our cultures are different. Technically I have none. It... is my code that keeps me going, my way of life. I vowed to protect all women, no matter the race unless they give me reason not to. You never gave me reason not to." He shrugged again and sat down again, waiting for her anger or disappointment. She already said that she wasn't defenseless, but still. Maybe there was another reason too?

"I see. Well, I'm not helpless even without my weapons. I wouldn't have survived over 90 years with my race if I were. You should worry less about me and more about yourself. Many of your kin are upset that you spoke out for me." Maya told him, crossing her arms, though one drifted down to her wound, pressing it lightly as she grimaced a little. Authion had caused a lot more damage by just ripping it out, and since her heartbeat picked up, it had begun to bleed a lot more.

Fid shook his head at her. "I really don't care what they think. As long as they do not harm you." He didn't really value his life all that much compared to how he valued others. Watching her arm go to her wound, he stood up and opened the door. "I'll be back with medicine." He left her alone then. Heading towards the infirmary, he wondered how he could snag some.

Maya opened her mouth to say something, but Fid had already left by then. She sighed and looked down at the wound, taking her hand off it for a moment. "Not sure how medicine is going to make it any better." She muttered to herself, dragging a chair over to the window and taking a seat to look outside once more.

Fid made his way to the infirmary with ease. The nurse let him in and told him where the supplies he needed were. He took a salve, Gauss, and a pad. Hurrying back, the guards checked him for weapons other than his scimitars, which they had acquired earlier, and let him in. "Stay still." He began to switch the cloth and took some salve. It was a nutrient rich medicine that promoted cell growth. He applied gently.

Maya shuddered at his touch, but stayed silent and still. "Why did you come to live with your kin, Fidelius? I can tell you are not fully Elf, but I am curious..." She murmured after a while, watching as he tended to her wound.

He gave her a small smile. "I wanted to know where I came from. I was raised with my human relatives. Learning all I could about battle and life there, I made my way here to learn more." He placed the pad over her wound and began to wrap the gauze around it. "So after they taught me what I could learn, the Drow began their increased raids. I'm still here to repay the debt that I owe and to protect the ones I like."

"I see..." She said quietly. She sat there in silence for a few moments before looking up at him. "Thank you...I know these concepts are new to me...but thank you for what you've done for me." Maya told him. "I...I want you to know my name. Whether you choose to use it is up to you, but getting called Drow was getting old. My name is Maya. I appreciate what you're doing for me, Fidelius." She said with a light smile.

Looking into her eyes, he nodded. "Maya, huh? A beautiful name for a beautiful woman." He chuckled and tied off the gauze. Standing up straight and stretching, he went to go sit down again.
((Nice Avi btw))

((Thanks. smile ))
A light blush rose to her cheeks at his comment. Most people on the surface saw her as a monster, but he just called her beautiful, something she handed really been called before. "Thank you." She said quietly before smiling to him. "You look tired. You've had a long night, you should go rest." Maya suggested as she watched him.
