The golden dragon, so far away in the vast expanse of the night, was at the peak of her rage and lust. The males who fell away now were spent, and no longer her concern. Talela was with her, urging her to choose soon, before the queen’s own stamina gave out.

As H’ner walked into the weyr, sopping wet, Talela headed toward him with her armful of towels. With her dragon so focused now, it was a lot more difficult than it had been when D’zek arrived. She paused halfway to press a hand to her forehead and grimace. She didn’t particularly want to “become” Vimiath unless… well, that was why they were here, right? Well. One should never assume these things – not nowadays, anyway. A headache was only temporary, if she’d have to suffer through. She completed her journey across the room and held out a towel toward H’ner, careful not to let her hand come too close to his.




Against the back drop of the twinkling stars, Vimiath arched her wings and slowed to a near stop. Fire coursed through her veins as she stared into the pale face of Belior. He would not outshine her. He could not outshine her. She was queen of the night!

She wheeled about, her hide glowing eerily in his harsh light and her eyes whirling deepest violet. As the covey of bronzes and browns rose toward her, she made her choice. With a triumphant bellow, she descended, spreading her arms wide to receive his embrace.

Dance with me in the moonlight, Blundarth, for we have cheated death this night!

NPC Bronze Blundarth and K'tor

Vimiath slowed and Blundarth held his breath even as his wings carried him higher. She was so close. So tantalisingly close. The world narrowed until Vimiath was the only thing that Blundarth could see, or even comprehend. He was hers to command. He longed to stay with her, but all it would take from her was a single word and he would fall from the sky. Hearts broken, body aching, and soul wounded; but if that was her wish then he would comply. In this moment, Blundarth would do anything that she asked of him. Perhaps once the flightlust faded, he would not be so completely at her command. Blundarth being the dragon he was though, would likely still do anything that Vimiath asked him. He couldn't help being the way that he was. Sweet and innocent, so unlike the flight he had flown in. Through darkness, lightning, talk of death and danger. Yet he was still here, adoration in his gaze and love in his hearts. A pure devotion of everything he knew about Vimiath. Yes the flight would magnify, but even without it, Blundarth thought that she was wonderful.

Then she called to him and his hearts soared, every pain forgotten. Vimiath dove and he rose to meet her. There were no words for the elation he felt. For how his every fibre sang. A bugle burst forth from his throat, the bronze trumpeting his euphoria. There were no sweet words that he could give to Vimiath that would ever compare to the gift of her choice that she had given to him. All Blundarth could do was reach out his mind to hers. Show her how she looked through his eyes; raindrops running off her like stars, glowing brighter than the moon, stronger than the storm. He showed her his devotion, he would give her everything that he had, everything that he was. Vimiath need only ask and he would be there. No matter the time, no matter the location, no matter the task; he would fulfil it all for her. Together they would make something beyond imagination, something with all her beauty and strength.

And Blundarth would be beside her every step of the way.
