It didn't shock her that she was out already, given how well they'd been doing, given that one or two pieces had fallen out of the bag despite what she wanted when Seirath had been doing tricks. Thank goodness it came quite quickly.

Zallea was pissed. Illyriath was pissed. It was definitely bad luck that had the rider fumbling her firestone bag and not at all the fact that their combined anger was getting the best of them. Cursing the way only a sailor could, she telegraphed their need for a new bag and barely noticed how frightened the kid that answered was. All she saw was the blur of her arm as she snatched the bag with more ferocity than necessary.
< Focus! > Illyriath was always the one who could stay more composed between them, though that was like saying a stove whose fire had just been smothered was less hot than an ongoing one.
Zallea growled in return.

Though cheekily and presumptuously she had told her fellow dragon how to not chew their stone; Amairrith herself seemed to have that very same problem. In her haste- and jubilance- to flame the menace from the sky, she chomped down on her tongue, squeaking in surprise.

As Thread descended on them, Qiana tensed up, picturing the image of their formation and giving the thought-order to Between. It was then that Yudueth swept in, a last second save that bought a moment of awed silence from the usually catty white.
T-thank you, Yudueth… But of course. Gracious and sincere in her thanks, she gave a slight trill, before turning her attention back to the Fall.
I’ll have to thank Tsuyat later. Qiana thought, her heart beating a little bit faster in her chest.

It didn’t last long. The wind blew a clump of Thread straight towards her precious, beautiful face as she tried to flame it. Amairrith did her utmost to backwing, to nimbly writhe out of the way, but it was about to hit...
And in a moment, it was seared. A flame under utmost control; flying that would have impressed even Faranth herself. The ash harmlessly blew past them.
And there, scintillating in the sky, was Illiandinth. Amairrith gave a croon of thanks, slipping back into formation.
Qiana's heart was like thunder in her chest. Two close calls. Was she slipping? Or was the wind to blame for causing such problems? Are you okay? Safe? Unharmed?
Of course. Our wing is the best there is. I am proud of my dragons. She took more stone and flamed another clump.

Careful! T'tain called as he spotted the thread falling perilously close to Thespeth's tailfork. With a neat flick Thespeth was able to avoid the thread. The pair moved upwards to flame it out of the sky.

It was a routine maneuver and T'tain didn't think much of it until Thespeth was jerking to the right and pulling up hard. What...? The wind blew thread back right where their faces had been and Thesepth flamed it easily. You don't have to say it. I know. I am brilliant.
