One of the healers offered W'ill some fellis for the pain, but he shook his head. "I gotta get back to my wing. Can't fly drugged up on fellis."

"I'm afraid you're stuck here with us for a bit yet," said the healer applying the numbweed to W'ill's scored left leg. "To put it bluntly, you're lucky to still be in one piece. You took some nasty Threadscore damage."

With a sigh W'ill laid back and stared at the ceiling. He hoped Z'tir would understand...

Though redwort and numbweed was beginning to be applied, there was still an ache that the healers wouldn't be able to touch. Still, Zyamel stood there and offered quiet, gentle soothes to her beloved brown. What she wouldn't give to make him happy... to ease his pain.

As time wore on, and the pain had dulled itself thanks to the numbweed, Zyamel grudgingly broke away from her brown and went to check on his status with the healers. They were still making much of his hip and tail. The wound was likely to rip open again once in flight.

When can we return? I'm feeling fine. The brown asked, gingerly craning his neck to peer behind him.

Soon, love.

The brown gave a snort. Not soon enough, clearly. Hmph.

Just give them a little more time... We'll meet up with the Wing at changeover. If they were lucky, and if they could get a Healer to sign off.

Valseth stumbled into a awkward landing making S'mol cling to the straps. But the bronze luckily manged to regain control before he tumbled head over tail into the healers, candidates and other weyr staff busying about the bowel.

Once they had come to a stop S'mol quickly unstrapped himself and dropped down his bonded's side onto the floor. "I need a healer here now please.! He called, already noting a few hurrying over. There was more than a little blood on both of them.

Luckily once that was cleaned up none of the sounds were as deep as feared. They were able to patch them up in fairly short order. Including S'mol's shoulder.

A metric ton of redwort and numbweed did most of the heavy lifting. A quick gear check and they were good to go again.

Also thread scored on his right wing making it painful to fly.

S'mol has thread score across his right shoulder going partly down his back.

The man worked with speed and effiency, and Argathi grumbled less. She appreciated his fast hands, even as her leg protested. The assistant seemed to know his way around a dragon, too, and she reached out to Genkuroth. Doing well?

Almost ready.

She tried to staunch the impatience flowing, and Genkuroth wrapped around her mentally. She hated feeling so useless, and for all of his goofing off and silliness, he hated it too.

"Almost done?" Argathi's hard voice pushed past her lips. She was growing more restless. "Let me stand." And the healer kept pressure applied, forcing her back into her seat.

How dare he! I am not some stripling.

I know, I know... but look, better to stay until they are satisfied than rush and... well, you know... His voice danced with titillation in her mind- the darkness didn't scare him.

"Done."

Such sweeter words had never been heard. Argathi got up with renewed resolve, nodding to the healer. Her leg felt fine, if numb, and she strode over to Genkuroth. The brown lowered his leg, then helped her up.

Ready?

He gave a croaky roar, then sprang into the air, Betweening to rejoin Burning Aces at high altitude.

Ashlyn felt as Gyafrith touched back down in the bowl, where she flagged down one of the healers. They came over and looked them both over and she was sure she saw a shake of her head as they worked on patching them both up. It seemed that Gyafrith had taken some damage from the Thread they had been blown into in his tail.

I will be fine, Mine,Gyafrith tried to assure his rider. He knew she worried, but he felt the healers would be able to manage.

2. 10) A patch falls down ahead. You dive down, flaming as you go, and both rider and dragon are pleased to watch it turn into harmless ash. This is how it gets done! (Also will note near problem and recovery from wingseconds in the post)
3. 11) The wind is rough, but you and your dragon are managing. You get a breather as your dragon flies into a small break of Threadfall. The upper altitudes must be doing a good job sweeping up!
4. 7) You notice that one of your wingmates is in trouble. Look out! Your dragon screams warning, and you watch as they successfully dodge catastrophe. Quote a Wingmate who took damage to Nullify Damage for that post! The quoted wingmate can remove that damage, unless they have already returned to the Weyr for healing or are already playing out a KO'd scenario.
5. 15) The greens, and blues don't seem to be having trouble sweeping up thread. Yeehaw! This isn't so bad! [+3 Agility] Browns and bronzes, you're struggling just a bit more getting around all the blowing clumps and individual strands. Still, it's good practice! [+1 Agility]

Kaloth appeared above the Bowl and landed heavily, stumbling to catch his weight against the impact. Both he and Z'rai had been tangled in a mass of Thread and the brownrider offered very little resistance to being pulled out of his straps, only calling out to his bellowing brown as he was carried to a tub and unceremoniously dunked.

Kaloth, too, had his straps lifted and loosened so water could be splashed and poured over the blackened remains of Thread dug into his hide. Grey-eyed with worry, he struggled to get closer to the tub where Z'rai sat shuddering, letting the healers inspect him for anything still dangerous. There had been a few curious looks shot between them, but their work went on.

Say something. Please say something, Mine! Kaloth begged, a whine escaping the brown's throat as his eyes slowly tinged yellow. At least it was a color..

I'm fine, Z'rai answered, though there was a dull note to his voice. I'm fine. We're going to be fine. Both of us. Attempting to smile for Kaloth's sake made Z'rai wince, but he managed a subtle smile. That had to be enough. They saw, they know. It's okay. We're okay," he repeated. Back in the sky as soon as we can.

And it was true. The healers took great care in bandaging te worst of Z'rai's scoring. They painstakingly helped him back into his leathers and the rider thanked them with a grim smile and a few quiet words and nods. Then he went back to his still anxious dragon, who scooped him close with the sweep of a foot and Z'rai crashed heavily against an uninjured part of the brown's chest.

It was a long while before either of them moved again, but eventually, Z'rai worked at readjusting and tightening Kaloth's straps again, as best he could while still being certain the dragon could both fly and do it with at least a little comfort. Then, once he had retaken his seat on Kaloth's back, the two were up and headed back into the fight again.
