Ah yes. This was precisely what the Lisa Frank bronze deserved. The attention and acknowledgement of both of his parents... among others. Completely ignoring the unimportant happenings on the Sands, the bronze perused the Candidates who so obediently waited for his approval. Hmm. There were so many in the way...

Maybe it would be best to let his siblings scatter them, that he might better take his own look. After all, it was the most august occasion any of them had yet to experience. No doubt about that. Glancing back toward the unhatched eggs, the bronze lifted a single claw at the Red & White Toadstool egg. It might begin its hatching, if it so chose. The King had made his entrance.

The Eggplant Blue gave a hwenk of sheer indignation as Moo Cow Brown charged the Candidates, tail lashing behind him--what was he doing? How was he supposed to get a good look at them all if they were busy getting chewed on?
Stop that right this instant! I can't work like this, you know!
However, the moment the Star Bronze collided with Moo Cow, Eggplant stopped in place, wings lowering just a touch. Wasn't that a mess--if he could grimace, he would. Perhaps he should just--take the opportunity to sneak around them and get closer to the Candidates that way.

Dehka - He/Him

Dehka barely had a moment to react before the brown barreled forth, lashing out with teeth and claws alike at Candidates that were clearly too close for his liking. He nearly slipped on the sands as he stumbled to get out of the way. A foot caught him across the chest, the surprise and flare of pain knocking the wind right out of him. Still gasping with the rush of adrenaline, Dehka quickly figured out that the wounds were shallow--bleeding freely, but shallow. Swallowing, he stumbled backwards, putting a good bit of distance between himself and the angry brown. Sorry! He thought, trying not to antagonize him farther.

Before he could do much more, a bronze charged forth to try and intercept his angry brother, and the brown turned on him with a ferocity that made his heart pound in his chest. Oh no... Oh no. "Are you two okay?" He managed to ask, shooting a quick look at his companions. "L-Let's keep backing up..." Because the two didn't look like they were going to stop anytime soon.

Candidate Nalacko - HR, she/her
Nala didn’t have time to react as Moo Cow Brown was suddenly at their and gnashing his very sharp baby teeth at Lojze. She gave a startled ‘eeep’ and froze. Poor Lojze! She’d help him as soon as the brown had gone on his way if he needed it.

And poor little Blue Moon Green seemed to be getting distraught over her unhatched siblings. Nala wasn’t sure why the green was upset, but hoped she’d pick her rider quickly. The Star Egg hatched and simply jumped into the fray to corral his brother. That was good of him.

Nala watched Lojze quickly bandage his wound. “Are you ok?”

Haveli

There was blood on the sands and thankfully, it wasn't hers. It was bad that it seemed to be among the dragonets who were fighting, a brown and bronze going at it and all Haveli could do was laugh. Hadn't the very father of this clutch gone at his bronze brother in this same way? Were they watching a repeat? If so she needn't worry, that outcome had been fine.

Instead Haveli turned to look at the parade on the sands. Twins from one egg, a posturing bronze, the green from before demanding affections. She couldn't recall a time when there were so may babies out at once without Impressions, but it simply meant she needed to be more careful. Carelessness would lead her to getting hurt and she didn't want that.

She wanted to be able to Impress and so her attention stayed focused.

Draza - She/Her

"Well, things are getting exciting, aren't they?" Draza wasn't going to pretend it wasn't a little exciting to watch the babies tussle, even if it was also a bit morbid. Hey. Sometimes personalities clashed!

She was just grateful she had the best sister there was - and besides, there were other darling not fighting baby dragons to see too!

-----

Cetra - She/Her

Cetra couldn't help but feel a certain amount of frustration on Moo Cow's behalf when he was bodied by his bronze brother - or perhaps, it was actually the brown's anger itself. She tried to fight that feeling off for the happier, better feelings that were asked of during hatchings, but....

----

Lihyo - She/Her

The sunshine egg hatched - and there were two babies inside of it. Her throat tightened a bit. Which had been the baby she'd been speaking with when she'd touched that egg? She was so focused on the twins she all but ignored the fight between siblings going on.

-----

Midrymear - He/Him

A fight was breaking out - but unlike a lot of people, he wasn't moving to protect his sister. She didn't need his protection, nor did he think Miomellai was so foolish as to get herself into harm's way. But he couldn't help but eye the fight with a bit of covetousness - both were fine dragons and he couldn't help but imagine himself with either.

-----
Juhvek - He/Him

Even for a bronze, Juhvek wouldn't reevaluate the way he'd more or less written his chances from the Lisa Frank egg off, and in fact knowing it had no interest in him he kept his attention elsewhere - like on the angry brown that had him carefully moving to keep himself between those snapping jaws and claws and the two girls who stood with him.

Even if a bronze was handling the situation.

"Looks like we have a rowdy lot..." but...hadn't Anakumath's clutch been this way too? He could picture two of her bronze brothers duking it out so similarly now.

Lojze -- HR, he/him

Lojze limped slightly as he moved back into position. "I'm fine," he grimaced to Nala. "It's fine. He didn't get me too badly." Leaning over, he touched the impromptu bandage job he'd done on the wound the brown had given him, coming away with the tip of his fingers just touched with blood. "Gotta keep on standing, right? Young dragons are gonna fight -- that's what F'dral said, it could get rough. Well," he grinned, "it got rough. But really, I'll be fine."

90s Picture Day Egg had been relatively quiet. While its clutchmates had wibbled and wobbled, this egg had seemed to be in no rush to hatch.

Except...

Except now things were happening and there was danger and...!!!!!!!!!!!

The little egg started to tremble, the little one inside pushing. Oh, if only it could be out! Stop it! Don't fight! Please don't fight! Those closest to the egg could hear a small peeping and muffled creeling from within--and anyone close enough to it would suddenly find themselves overcome with worry and anxiety.

It was completely beyond bearing that no one in the world seemed to care that she had hatched and was first! The Blue Moon green stalked right past the tangle of brother against brother, and purposefully avoided other, betraying blue brother, peering up at the Candidates. ... But why were they running away!? How could she get to them if they were going to run like that?

With a creel, she toddled after them, trying to get a bit closer. Why didn't anyone want to meet her?

They do not deserve to be hurt! Star reiterated, resolutely weathering every last blow, even the ones that tore and rended his hide, no matter how deep his brown brother's claws and teeth dug. Still refusing to use his own to such purpose, though a claw might incidentally catch here and there, he instead wrestled with Moo Cow, trying to maneuver this quarrel away from the Candidates, who did not deserve to be collateral damage any more than they deserved to be bitten simply for existing and standing upon the Sands as they ought.

Think of who you might hurt, brother, please! Not only them, but our siblings! What if you do harm that cannot be undone to one of Theirs? Or Yours?

Uta

Ah, it could? Thank you very much, esteemed brother.

Carefully, fussing at work it had already quietly begun the preliminary steps of, subtle so as not to draw attention, Red and White Toadstool finally began to delicately crack its shell.

Dystzha - Western - She/Her

Oh, how she both loved and hated to be right -- and she’s able to push herself in front of Surel as the Moo Cow Brown turned towards the candidates. Her legs suffered his wrath, staggering back under the digging pain of his sharp claws digging in, the pain of his sharp teeth and heavy bite.

It’s all Dystzha could do to not bite her own tongue, swallowing down the pained yelps for grimaces and whines as she backed up to give the brown baby more room -- and corral her friend with her.

Her legs felt like an utter mess, and she can’t quite bring herself to even look at the damage. Judging by the stinging pain rapidly rolling into an almost burning heat with the sands, they weren’t exactly looking good.

Dys glanced back at Surel. “You -- ngh - you okay?”

Iskernyk - Standidate - He/Him

Utterly brimming with excited energy, Iskernyk had been on pins and needles at getting to possibly witness his brother impress. Though his mind called to question the conversation he’d been having between himself, K’ent, and T’sar. But he was here to enjoy the evening in good company, ones he saw so few and far in between, and he could certainly take the opportunity as he saw fit.

“Only one dance? It’ll have to be the best, then.” Isk chuckled, leaning a bit into the pure warmth the Westerner exuded. The first green was joined by her siblings; two bronzes, a brown, two--three blues, and another green baby. But that first to hatch baby looked so upset, poor dear.

Rahmsii had felt the claws of a hatchling. The little ropey scars a reminder to stay a little more out of the way. More to his patchwork. He couldn't help but to wince in sympathy. Those teeth had to hurt! Rahmsii had heard the brown's growl from within its shelled confines. Not everyone was smiles always, he supposed. Its bronze brother seemed to be wanting no more of its fury. The curious little green a bit distressed - oh dear one find yours!

Rahmsii turned his gaze to Miela, who had been terribly hurt when last they stood together. "I hope no one gets hurts too badly…" he murmured to Dalini thinking about Miela's patched eye. He had felt horrible he hadn't been able to somehow help her more.

The blue that had hatched from its rude wake up seemed to be alright - thank goodness. It was a delightful thing in the chaos to see twins hatch from their egg! He hadn't seen such a thing himself, and felt himself rather lucky to be so near and able to see it for himself instead of gossiped. Pretty as a painting!

Unexpected rage that punched through him felt nauseating. Irritating. A white hot prickle under his skin -a herdbeast that can't quite shake off a nipping fly. Rahmsii breathed slowly, grinding his teeth. This was not the place for anger. He knew how to not have it consume him. There were little ones here, and it was tempting to let the rage be overwhelming. He pressed his knuckles to lips, working his teeth irritabley. The pinpricks of its pain distracting enough to get a handle on himself. They were all just young ones, they'd learn in time.

Vannek

Faces scraped, as he knew they would be. Maybe he was psychic after all. While he had managed to deny the Pencil's request for shoes, Vannek wasn't about to crowd this dragon, not when its teeth and claws were—

The candidate let out a huff of surprise as the Star bronze launched himself out of his egg and into his brown brother. So fast! So... out of line! His fists clenched as the baby's rage washed over him, but he was just as quick to push it away. He was not going to be influenced by an infant, even if that infant was extremely miffed. Vannek took a deep breath and turned to Lisa Frank and Eggplant, giving them his attention simply for being so well behaved.

"Yes. Spirited. It seems like they all are." There were still a pair of twins hiding in their egg, but he wouldn't put it past them to be just as feisty when their brothers were done with their tiff.

Nuamia She/her - Western

The brown missed her, but got one of her companions. “Do you need a bandage?” She asked Dehka and followed him back a little. Not that she thought that would do much to prevent a repeat performance if the dragon was inclined. She kept an eye on the bronze and brown now fighting near them. “We shouldn’t go too far.” She mentioned as she thought it. “What if one of the others is looking for us?” She looked over at the green that seemed to be so sad. “Maybe she would like to say hello?”

The Rainbow Egg began to rock once more, well aware of the increasingly aggressive mood of everything outside. It was moving more in earnest now, picking up to a rather steady level of activity as the cracks began to spread across its shell.
