Pushing the soreness from his right wing out of his mind, Aresoth threw himself into the fray in front of him. The bronze was more focused, C'ryn could feel that, they were determined to show just what they were made of and there would not be any more mistakes...hopefully.

AS they moved through the air Aresoth caught sight of one of the other Weyrlings in trouble. In an instant he had gone between and them back out just the perfect distance away to flame the thread and then he was back to where he was once more in another blink.

This isn't safe, Phaedrath informed her rider as she twisted in the air. Alosha knew better than to doubt her instincts - especially when they paid off immediately in the form of a blown clump of thread that could have easily hit the two of them.

Altoth was still all warbles and worries as W'tarl gently urged her after a few strands of thread that were moving at a surprisingly quick speed. It was easy to feel out her weight, leaning her into her needed pockets of wind to send her sailing at them, flaming meekly.

But for her, it was enough to get the job done.

Up here the wing was hard to fight, especially for the greens and blues. Orodreth was doing his best to stay in just the right position for the formation. He was having to fight the wind more then he had ever fought before, but he was doing his best as Tyra pushed her strength into her blue.

The man and dragon were exhausted. Gr'del had always been an anxious man, though he tried to keep it bottled inside. Threadfall days were worse than even the worst Touching or the most awful status report of his Candidates. This was life or death. If they didn't do their jobs, someone else got hurt, or lost their life. On the other hand, coming back from the fight... He had firsthand experience of what any Candidate might someday go through. No longer was dragon-riding a simple profession; now it meant that Candidacy meant potentially making the ultimate sacrifice. Saving people and Holds from the Enemy; losing limbs, losing blood, losing friends, lovers....

Gr'del hated Threadfall, but he was proud to fight.

Was her terrified out of his mind? Yes.
Was there anything he could do about it? No.

All he could do was carry on. Show no fear. Be the sort of rider his Candidates wanted him to be. He was a shaffing High Reaches man, and he wasn't going to let his nerves ever get the best of him!

Still feeling alright after that hit earlier? W'dre could feel his back aching through their mental link, but wanted to check on his bonded anyways. Dormith rumbled as he flamed another strand of thread. If it is not eating away at me, then the healers can tend to it later. I will live.

He was made of stamina, after all.

The wind up here was horrid and the large bronze even found himself having trouble staying in the right formation position. He was surprised the greens and blues seemed to be doing so well, or were they just able to hide it better then he was.

Dr'stan noticed the change in his dragon as another large gust of wind buffeted them. This time, however, Ddraigth didn't fight it as they were pushed out of the formation. There was a trumpet of warning but the bronze didn't care, just letting himself be pushed away before trying to catch himself with his wings. Having to flap just a bit too hard to get himself back.

Ah...but he was so tired...

The time had come to swap Flights and to circle down a bit. Thella was glad they'd have a bit of protection from above now, but she worried for the greens and blues that were coming in and heading right up top. They had no idea what they were getting into, after all. Still the speech from D'mon and Thistreth gave her a bit of heart and Lireloth trumpeted in return. They were halfway there.
