The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera smiled at him. "Good. Let's get going then, shall we?" She asked, leading him back towards the inn. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"Sure thing." Clorogne smiled and walked with her, putting the beads in his pocket.
Akila stirred from her painful slumber, turning to her other side. Her usually wide bright eyes were dull and half closed. She knew what she wanted to do, she just didn't know if she could. She slowly pulled herself off the bed, walking to the window.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera led him back to the inn and up to his room. "Now. To make sure you look presentable." She said, casting a critical eye over him. She set to work, straightening and neatening his appearance.
Zar cawed softly as she stood up. He'd been sitting on her headboard, watching over her. Now though, he hopped over to the window sill, looking up at her curiously. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila pulled out Zar's speaking paper, and pointed to letters, 'I want to go to the forest.' it was very risky. But she yearned for the kind of numbness it always put over her when she zoned out.
Clorogne laughed, "Good luck with that."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera mock glared at him, hands on her hips. "I will not have a scruffy king by my side, you hear me?" She scolded him, though her emerald eyes danced with amusement. She grabbed a comb and reached up to run it through his hair, smoothing it down.
Zar seemed to hesitate, knowing the risks. Then he flew out the window suddenly. He too, knew the need to fly sometimes, to just fly for no reason. He reappeared in a minute, shaking his head and cawing softly. He tapped at the paper. 'No one around.' The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila reached up to pet the bird, and graced the feathers above his eye with a kiss, before hopping onto the sill and without a second thought, she hopped down. She did not land as gracefully as before. She wasn't thinking as straightly, and her feet wobbled, but before long she found herself in the cover of trees, and she shut her eyes as she walked, letting her senses guild her to her spot at the river.
Clorogne straightened out, shoulders back tall, and asked, "How about this?"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera smiled warmly at him. "There's a man I would be proud to call my king." She told him lovingly. "You're sure to wow them all." She glanced at herself, tugging at her short skirt. "Am I presentable?" She asked, suddenly sounding nervous.
Zar flew overhead as Akila walked. When she settled at the river, her gracefully dropped to sit on her shoulder. He nuzzled her comfortingly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"You look beautiful...as you always do." Clorogne draped an arm over her shoulder, and kissed the top of her head. "A prize for any man." He assured her.
Akila pet Zar slowly, never once opening her eyes. She was having a hard time believing she would not be able to speak again. No humming. No singing. Not a single whisper. She dropped her head under her chin touched her collar bone, and sighed.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera smiled shyly. "I'm prize for only one man." She told him, wrapping an arm around his waist. "Now, shall we tell the world?"
Zar ran his beak through her short hair, preening her. He was silent, as if letting her be with her thoughts. He never moved from her shoulder though, staying as a loyal friend. The tiger that should be....isn't....

"We shall." Clorogne led her into the hallway, and took a deep breath, "Shall we call a meeting at the old palace...ashes?"
Akila ran her fingers through his feathers and chewed her lip. What would she do, now?

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera nodded. "Seems as good a place as any, until we get the new palace built." She said, linking her arm with Clorogne's. She walked calmly beside him.
Zar spread his wings, letting her preen the feathers. He sagged slightly, head drooping as he relaxed. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila stood abruptly , and continued to stroke his feathers as she started in the direction he would recognise as towards the rebellion hide-out.
Clorogne led her outside, speaking loudly, "Meeting at the palace!!"

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aleera walked along beside Clorogne, repeating his words occasionally as they walked towards the old palace. The crowds, curious, began following the pair. It grew larger and larger as they approached the ruins. By the time they arrived, they had pretty much the whole town waiting on their words.
Zar cocked his head, watched as Akila walked. Suddenly, he flew off, disappearing into the woods. It wasn't long at all before he came back, Markus hard on his tail feathers. "Akila? Are you alright? Zar said you're hurt but you're not hurt?" He said, sounding confused as he landed beside her. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila looked at Markus blankly for a moment, before lurching forward and hugging him, while her body wracked with silent sobs again.
Clorogne led her to a platform, "We have an announcement! Aleera and I...Well we....We're getting married!"

Aleera looked over the crowd. They were silent for a long moment, gaping at the couple in shock. Then a voice could be heard whispering loudly. "I KNEW they were together." A single pair of hands began clapping, then a second, a third, and soon the whole crowd was clapping and cheering. Aleera smiled at the crowd, leaning against Clorogne.
Markus looked at her in shock. He hugged her though, wrapping his arms around the girl and holding her tight. His black wings flared before curling around them, enclosing them in a comforting, warm, darkness. "I'm so sorry Akila........I'm so sorry........" Zar had just explained what had happened.
