Fianna Grey Gryffindor │ Fifth Year │ Fifteen Years Old │ Single │ Seeker
Having breakfast this morning, Fianna was struck by the realization this was the last pre-match breakfast she and Hannah would have at school, which made her own feelings of melancholy deepen. It wouldn't be the same without her big sister there to talk to, and now both she and her cousin were going on with their lives, Fianna felt as though she would be going it all alone as she seemed to be sharing her year with a lot of ghosts. It also didn't help Gryffindor was out of the running for the Cup ('gee, what a shock,' she thought sourly), and Hufflepuff was basically playing for pride and House points.
Given how she'd played all season it was probably a good thing the Lions' season ended when it did, as Gid would have had to do some serious sweet-talking to convince her to mount up once more. Her 'sophomore slump', which started from try-outs and continued through their disastrous final game with Slytherin, caused her to question her own competence as a Seeker, and whether she loved the game enough to even think about coming back to it next term.
With summer nearly upon them, Fianna decided she would give herself a break and put her disappointment in herself behind her. Besides, as her cousin told her in a recent letter, 'it's just a game, a meaningless diversion, and your OWLs are far more important than to allow trivialities to interfere with your preparations.' Though the descriptor certainly covered today's match, it was also an excuse to get outside and get away from the books, if only for a little bit.
Wearing a bright yellow 'Puff shirt of her sister's, over a pair of comfortable jeans and sneakers, Fianna was ready to cheer on the Badgers to a victory.

He was feeling incredibly nostalgic, but also in dire need of stress relief. Ever since his his accidental overdosing and his massive confession, he had spent any free time he had trying to make it up to his friends. He hated himself a bit, but now he was feeling much better. He'd struggled with withdrawals while also struggling under the weight of classes, head duties, and relationship mending. For now, he would watch the last game of the school year, cheering for Ravenclaw's Captain to bring home the gold... literally. The seventh year sat toward the front, setting his crutches under the bench and snuggling the blue-and-bronze striped scarf he'd "borrowed" from Rhys in fifth year. Honestly, he was rooting for the Eagles. Gryffindor had had a pretty bad season, and he blamed himself entirely for the mess. Though, he figured the cramped up schedule didn't help at all. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, leaning forward a bit as the game rocketed to life. He figured if Rhys won, he'd take him to dinner the next Hogsmeade weekend... well, maybe it wouldn't matter if he won... Honestly, Gid just wanted to treat his friends to dinner. Maybe that would be what he did, a big final fling in Hogsmeade.... Fianna Grey Gryffindor │ Fifth Year │ Fifteen Years Old │ Single │ Seeker
Fianna smiled slightly when she spotted Gid arriving for the match. She felt badly for not delivering a Cup for his final go-around, and it had taken her a while before she could bring herself to look her teammates in the eye after the last match. Yeah, that loss hurt. She got up and made her down to where he was seated, and noted he was there to support the Eagles. Hardly surprising seeing how he and Rhys had been mates since... well, ever, as far as she knew. Still, she was running out of chances to hang with her teammates, and had fences of her own to mend.
Producing a Thermos, a couple cups, and a bag of fresh oatmeal cookies, she said, with a hopeful smile, "Hi, Gid. Got hot cocoa and warm cookies from the kitchens. Want to share?"

He was also pretty sure Rhys had spotted the Snitch too. And he avoided a bludger. Good. Gid didn't particularly want to escort Rhys to the hospital wing after his last game. Besides, he didn't particularly want to be back in the hospital wing at all after what happened last time. The teen was shaken from his thoughts by someone sitting beside him. Oh, it was Fionna. Gid regarded the redhead that had offered over a thermos and some biscuits. She wanted to share? The reaction still took Gid by surprise, as he'd let down his team. Luckily, he'd managed to keep what was wrong with him out of the school rumor mill, which was probably the only reason he still held all his titles. "Hey Fionna, and thanks." He poured a small cup of cocoa and regarded the cookie, pondering it's flavor. Oh well, no better way than to bite it. After eating the small snack, he looked over at the girl, wanting to try and make things better. Honestly, the whole team had reason to be furious with him, so he figured one nice soul was well worth it. "You did really good this year, you know? You're a really great Seeker." "I was bloody wretched this year," Fianna said with a self-deprecating laugh, as she passed the bag of cookies to Gid, having decided it was better to laugh about her travails on the pitch than cry about it. She gave a cheer when Emma swiped the Quaffle back and started back toward the Ravenclaw goals. Hannah managed to lay into a swing at Rhys, making up for the lame duck she'd lined up before. "I'm the reason why the season went all Chudley on us, but it's nice of you to say that. Besides, you're the MVP this season; you kept the team from flying apart, even after we lost to Slytherin."

She had no idea that he'd done worse, and been doing bad things to cause his poorly playing. "You did a great job, Fianna. Don't let one bad season get you down." He grinned, patting her arm. She gave him the bag of cookies, causing the male to gasp with surprise. He munched on another cookie, bobbing his head as he watched the game for a second. When Fionna said she was the reason that the team failed, then went so far as to praise him for his captaincy. The sheer absurdity of the situation made him laugh out loud. "No, nonono. I... barely held myself together, let alone the team. Trust me, it wasn't great." He sighed quietly, not wanting to mention anything of what had happened. He decided he would just let her and everyone else think stress hit him hard. "And besides... and as much as I hate to admit this, Slytherin's doing pretty great this year. Fianna Grey Gryffindor │ Fifth Year │ Fifteen Years Old │ Single │ Seeker
"'One bad season' is an understatement, Gid," Fianna said with a bit of a chuckle,"Hardly anything went right for us this term, but that's okay, there's always next season, and maybe I'll be able to do a better job of it." As she said that, she winced when she saw her sister take a Bludger into her midsection. "And that's gonna leave a mark," she quipped with a grimace.
Gid's modesty about his own ability to keep it together caused her to smile, and she told him in a pseudo-conspiratorial tone, "That's okay, if you were faking it, none of us knew the difference anyway. Sometimes the appearance that everything's okay is good enough."
When he commented on Slytherin's charge for the Cup, Fianna shrugged, and countered, "What's to hate? Obviously, Leon made last year's drubbing a personal thing and used it to motivate his team this year."

Not only that, but they'd done a pretty bang up job. "It could be worse... I mean... we have a great team, and surely it'll only get better. I'd trust any of you to pilot this team, but combine you all? That's a nightmare waiting to happen for anyone not in scarlet and gold." A small grin curled onto his lips as he watched Rhys miss the snitch and get hit. Well, that'd probably be a trip to the infirmary. When Fianna's sister, Hannah, got hit, the Seeker commented and Gid snorted. "Beaters are tough. If they couldn't take a hit, they wouldn't last long on the team."When Fianna acted like Gid had even been able to pretend to keep himself together over the year, he had to bite his tongue so he wouldn't point out exactly how hard he'd let down the team. Instead, he simply sighed, looking blankly over the pitch. After his comments about Slytherin, she replied saying it had become sort of a rally cry for the snakes. "Then remember how much it sucks to get trampled like this. Next year, ring the bells of redemption. As long as I'm able, I'll come watch the games and cheer everyone on. It all depends on... other stuff, though." Yea, "other stuff", he thought sarcastically, knowing he probably wouldn't show up to the school in a wheelchair. Besides, it'd be incredibly hard to get up the stairs to the stands on wheels. Oh well. He would try, if nothing else. Rhett Fang Ye <1st year>
☯ Just because Rhett wasn't interested in Quidditch to play and thought the game was too many rules to really catch his interest entirely didn't mean he wasn't interested in seeing the games. Besides he knew the rules pretty well thanks to his sister's interest in quidditch. She spent enough time in the summer plotting teams and what not. Today was Hufflepuff vs. Gryffindor and while they might not have the rivalry that Gryffindor and Slytherin had, Rhett figured it still would be a good game. And if it DID get boring he could sneak off and wander the grounds. Either way was a win for him. He did deck himself out in Gryffindor gear, a t-shirt that his sister sent to him to congratulate his sorting and a hat that he had one of the older kids pick up for him in Hogsmeade. Rhett figured a school store selling house gear would be pretty popular at least with the first and second years and kind of wondered why the school didn't try to profit from them, well besides being a school and might want to not look like a for profit sort of place. At least their robes magicked into their house colors when sorted. Rhett took a seat near the middle of the stands and eagerly awaited the game to start and in the meantime scanned the stands for any of his classmates he might talk to while waiting.

Faina Patrovna-Harcroft Slytherin │ First Year │ Eleven Years Old │ Single
Lions v. Badgers match
Though she had no real interest in the game in general, Faina found the need to wander out to the Quidditch stands to watch. Even she had to admit there was a considerable amount of excitement among the other students over the start of the match season, and even though her own House wasn't playing, she figured she'd at least check it out. She also didn't mind an excuse to get out of the castle, as there wouldn't be too many nice days left before sunny skies gave way to the leaden skies of autumn and the ice-flecked winds of a Highlands winter.
It was also an excuse not to wear a school uniform. Faina chose a pair of faded jeans and equally faded sneakers over a Tee shirt she'd made in Art Club, depicting a hooded cobra peering over an obvious magickal tome. Having made a stop by the kitchens, Faina scored a bag of fresh chocolate-chunk cookies, still warm from the ovens, and a Thermos loaded with pumpkin juice.
As she climbed up into the stands, she soon spotted a friend. "Rhy!" she called out, and quickly ascended the risers to join him. They hadn't had much of a chance to plot and plan of late, and now they had a moment where they might do just that.
"You're lost little girl, you're lost little girl You're lost, tell me who are you?"
"I think that you know what to do Impossible? Yes, but it's true I think that you know what to do, yeah I'm sure that you know what to do "

Sure, the first game wasn't one he'd play in, and sure, he still hadn't gotten his dream spot on the team, but it didn't matter much to the third year. He climbed up the stairs to the stands and found a front-row spot. He wanted to watch the Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs start the season, if for no other reason than to size up their Chasers. He still wasn't the best at the spot, but he was certainly getting better. It helped that practically everyone in his family obsessed over the sport. Plus, Cyd had given him insight to some better strategies. This year, he was determined to help Ravenclaw win the season. For now, he'd ignore the cacophony of noises swirling into his vision so he could watch and learn. It was the best way to get better... besides oodles of practice, anyway. {{Open for Interaction}} Sᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇ ᴍᴀᴢᴇ, ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪs ᴛʜɪs ᴘʟᴀᴄᴇ? I ʜᴇᴀʀ ᴠᴏɪᴄᴇs ᴏᴠᴇʀ ᴍʏ sʜᴏᴜʟᴅᴇʀ, Nᴏᴛʜɪɴɢ's ᴍᴀᴋɪɴɢ sᴇɴsᴇ ᴀᴛ ᴀʟʟ. Rhett Fang Ye <1st year>
☯ The excitement of the crowd was splendid if you asked Rhett. The energy was contagious and he was ready to cheer on his house when he was joined by his gray haired friend, Faina. "Faina!" Rhett called back grin on his face. "How are you doing? I've already explored some of the gardens and greenhouse, and of course made it all through to the Library and up a few of the towers... Have you found anything cool?"
He had spouted out stories and his question in a rush much like he was prone to do when he noticed a bag that smelled wonderful in her hand. "Cookies? No fair you figured out the kitchens already!"
He knew that the kitchens were usually one of the first stops that students made but Rhett had been so eager to explore the grounds before the weather got bad he totally missed out on the dungeons and the kitchen. It was easier to sneak through the towers being that he lived in the tower. He and Faina would need to compare notes.
He looked back to the field and noticed in the crowd a brunette girl who was smaller than most of the upperclassmen in the stands and he could have sworn he saw her in classes but didn't remember if she was a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Probably Ravenclaw as she wasn't dressed up like the Puffs. "Hey, isn't she from our year? Should we say hi? More the merrier right?"

"Oh, I've been doing well enough, "the snowy-haired girl replied, with a slight smile, "I've been checking out the dungeons and the tunnels under the castle, and, yeah, I found the kitchens." She chuckled softly and passed the bag of cookies to her friend, after all, treats were meant to be shared. "Still warm from the oven. Sadly, the House Elves don't know how to make Ptichie Moloko or Pampushky, but that's okay, because they do know how to make teas that help one get to sleep after Astronomy class."
Glancing over toward where Rhett was indicating, Faina nodded, and answered, "Yeah, that's Helena, and that's Dris not far from her." Raising her voice to be heard, she called, "Helena! Dris! You want to sit with us?"
"You're lost little girl, you're lost little girl You're lost, tell me who are you?"
