i only have the original "sonic" and "sonic & tails"... never played any after that.

By that, you mean the ones on the Mega Drive, right? If you are, you're missing out on a couple of the best that Sonic had.
The 2D Side-Srollers are pretty much the peak of Sonic, imo. There's not really that much interest; at least from me, in the latest Sonic games. For example, Sonic Heroes was probably the worst I'd seen.
The Advance games weren't so bad, because they brought back the 2D Side-Scrolling, but some of the bonus stages were impossible to get.
Although the Adventure games were probably the better of the 3D games produced.
Onto Gaia-Related stuff, I had a think about that evolving urn.. anyone else think it might be a Phoenix?
