Nope, Gundam did, way back in 2004. We've been around longer than that, before Gaia's guild system came into being.

On another note, I was walking around the train station in town, wearing my Strongbadia Stop Sign Keychain, and some girl with a clipboard stopped me and asked "is that a Strongbadia sign?"
I answered "It is indeed!"
and she says "Well, all hail the Republic of Strongabadia!" then laughed, and walked away.

Suffice to say, my day was better from that moment on.
