OMG stupid patterns!

So I'm making this dress, and I'm reading the sizing to figure out which size I need (my pattern is size 4-10) and how I should adjust it because there is usually a few sizes difference between my waist and bust.
According to their sizing, I need a size 14!!!! Which is s**t, because I wear a 3 usually, size 5 at the very biggest.

So I'm like well s**t, who knows what this thing is actually sized like xD so I make this trial bodice, a size 10 with lots of room to take it in and out, and it's more than two handspans too big mad mad mad scream
This is why I hate sewing...

It's just a pain in the a** because I basically have to make my own pattern and that takes forever with all the adjusting you have to do.
