Coming out of between it was clear why many called the high altitude the most dangerous one. Thread was everywhere. It didn't matter where he aimed, Kalikath would hit something. So he roared and began to burn it all.

Ahlalei kept giving him firestone as needed until a small break came in the almost constant dropping menace.

Roll 2: The air is thick with Thread. It's at its heaviest up here, and you are literally surrounded by silver tendrils. You roar defiance before spitting forth a great flame, scorching the deadly threads before you with ease. Flame Length +1

Thread still continues to fall in odd patches, and his interest is still hyper focused on the patches continuing to fall. Its seamless the transfer of firestone before Kinitarth even needs to ask. The blue dragon wheels to a better position, firing off several precise shots to the tumbling clumps. The ash rains down, harmless as it falls between wing layers and drifting past riders who had been underneath.

“Nice one, dear.” The excitement still sings in Sam’kel’s blood, impressed with how precise Kinitarth’s aim is.

I told you. We will be fine this day! Kinitarth’s voice is smug, shifting back into formation.

Up we go! Cordrath surged up with his fellow wingriders, M'nr comfortably settled in his straps and holding in his nerves.Wind blew everywhere, and the bronze struggled to track where everything was blowing.

Below! M'nr warned, and the bronze suddenly flashed between, but not so quickly as to not feel the end of his tail singe, snarling as they emerged on the other side to continue flaming. I'll keep my eyes open! Keep yours open too! M'nr reminded.

As M'aze kept his gaze on the sky, watching and waiting for any falling thread, Zeath scanned the area on either side of them. So far, so good! M'aze frowned slightly as something made the hair on the back of his neck stand up, and he turned just in time to see the first bit of it this low: Thread.

Before he even had time to send a warning to Zeath, they had popped Between and appeared above the danger. Zeath flamed it down with a woop from M'aze who slapped his dragon's neck enthusiastically.

"Atta boy! What a move!"

The calm moment didn't last long as the wind picked up again. It was hard to keep in formation and both dragon and rider were feeling the strain. Kalikath as his muscles worked to stay where he was supposed to be and not allow the ones below him to be exposed. Ahlalei as her she shifted in her straps and used her leg muscles to hold on.

Anandi's nerves were starting to get the better of her, but Fahn's sudden appearance helped to alleviate some of it. Fighting on behalf of someone else was always easier. Vishnuth leaned over and rested his chin gently atop his rider's head as the cousins embraced.

We will come back. Thread will not win this day, Mine and Fahn. Fahn will be safe here.

Yes!

"We'll do our best, Fahn. I promise! Thank you for keeping everyone fed... everyone is important. We'll come back. We have to keep everyone outside safe. It's raining down on the other Holds and--"

It was then that the call went out and dragons must take to the skies. Anandi was flying in the first shift and it was go time. D'mon's signal went out loud and clear. "Oh, we must go. Please stay safe, Fahn!"

To the skies! I hope something delicious awaits our return, Fahn. Always full of mirth, Vishnuth nudged dear Fahn as Anandi climbed into the straps to prepare for liftoff.

---

The Threadfall was worse than Rider and Dragon expected, the gusts coming hard and fast. One of the others in the Wing had been hit and blinked in Between, out of sight for a few seconds. Anandi was busy concentrating on the Thread before them, Vishnuth preparing a flame when someone else came flying from Between and nearly slammed into the pair. Adrenaline pumping, Anandi found her heart in her throat for a moment when Shyn'ar and Gwyllinth shouted at them from below, issuing a warning to allow the pair to dodge the incoming dragon.

"Thank you!!" she shouted, patting Vishnuth on the shoulder. Threadfall could never be underestimated.

Many thanks!

QUEENS' WING
Lestenna of Gold Uridith
Round 1-1

Uridith was nearly glowing with pride as she felt the touches of her children. Even those who had no real relationship....well. It was nice enough to simply know they lived, and were here. She all but danced through the sky as they rose as a wing, unabated by the fall of thread. That any made it this low was a worry...but with laser focus, Lestenna blasted it down, raining nothing but ash to the ground.

While V'mel's gaze use to intimidate him it had little to no effect anymore, especially not now. C'ryn respected the man, he deserved it after teaching them how to survive and fight Threadfall. It wasn't a real surprise to either of the pair what V'mel was asking, perhaps more of a surprise that it was so quickly after their first blooding but the thought that V'mel saw them as ready made pride brim.

"Yes sir." It was the only reply C'ryn gave before they were up in the air, all of them flying in formation and then between. Upon arriving, hurrying quickly into formation, C'ryn turned his head to observe just as Aresoth did the same, taking note of his siblings.

Aresoth easily saw some thread and moved to belch fire at it, of course the large bronze didn't seem to notice the wind draft coming the other way. C'ryn felt his body hit the wind, his straps the only thing keeping him from staying on Aresoth and not falling to the ground below. The bronze rider gave a pause, clinging on as Aresoth finally leveled out and then...oh no...

Crap! He could feel the straps slipping some and he hastily moved to tighten what he could. Luckily it was near enough to him to reach. Aresoth kept himself from dodging and weaving too much as C'ryn fixed it and the boy hoped it hadn't been seen by anyone. Nice way to start off flying as a wingsecond.

Round 1
[1]As your dragon weaves to catch Thread, you're thrown hard against your riding straps. They stop you from falling of your dragon, and you're grateful that V'mel had you spend all that time making them! Unfortunately, once your dragon straightens out, you realize they might be a little loose. Whoops. Better tighten those up!

'I am fine beloved, that was just so close.' He said, gathering himself and focused on the skies. 'I'm good.'

In any other case a bit of celebration was warranted, but with how windy it was Zeath and M'aze quickly found themselves in a bit of trouble. Focusing on the little bit of Thread that had almost snuck up on them allowed a much larger clump to fly directly into M'aze's back. He felt the weight of it before the burn, but it soon ate through some of his leathers and fell onto Zeath's back.

A quick jump Between, a few seconds out of the fray, and then they were back. Scored, yes, but not badly enough to worry.

"All right, we'll have to be a little more aware is all," M'aze said aloud, both to himself and Zeath who snorted in agreement. That wasn't the way to start this hour in the air.

J'in swore as the wind blew a clump of thread at them again and shifted back trying to guide Irath away but he felt it hit and the pain of his dragon but kept focus as they blinked between freezing the thread and came out.

'Irath?'

Irath replied and let out a flame to burn the clumps in front of him.

This is such a mess! Thread is everywhere. The High Altitude Wing is always in the thick of it, and today is no exception.

M'yk had continued with his checks in stony silence while his dragon ignored him, and by the time the signal was given to rise, he'd already been mounted and secured for several minutes, everything in place and checked over. When that signal was given, however, the silence ended, and he patted his dragon's neck; there was no room for any annoyance or hard feelings to linger with the fight about to begin.

And once it started, it started - they'd barely been in it long enough to flame more than a clump or two of Thread when suddenly, Kinitarth was calling out to him, alerting him to to the very real danger of being flamed as though he and His were Thread! There wasn't quite time to dodge it fully, but they had just enough warning to flash between and pop out in a safer spot, and were spared being charred. Thank you, brother!
