Another winter day for Roselyn. Unlike those who have to bear with the cold, she is able to stay where the ovens are for a while to prepare dough and bake all sorts of baked goods, so she gets to stay warm for quite some time. Even when she has to leave the ovens to meet her patrons, she is still indoors rather than receiving the full force of the brutal winter. Slowly but surely, her business has been picking up now that her bakery is fully operational. The restoration took a long time, and although it will never truly be the same bakery she had the last time, at least she can move forward with hope that there will be better days in the future. When all the baked goods were ready to sell, she opened her bakery doors and greeted many of the patrons who came to the bakery to buy her delicious breads and sweets. Whenever her workers were struggling to keep up the pace, she supported them wherever they needed her in.

Finally the harsh winter has subsided. The snow is gone, although the cold still lingers. At the very least, Roselyn will no longer have to retreat to the oven room just to keep herself warm throughout the day and not as many people will stay in her warm bakery just to get away from the cold. Aside from this, nothing major changed for her this day. She got to her bakery early, started flames inside the oven, made dough for bread and other baked goods, baked the baked goods, and allowed them to cool before putting them on display. Upon opening her bakery, she and the rest of her employees worked their butts off serving every patron during the morning rush, only relaxing slightly every now and then once the rush was over.

Roselyn has something special for her patrons coming to her bakery today. Her employees will be the first to taste this special treat since they have to be enthusiastic about selling it. At first, some of the employees were confused by what Roselyn was doing. When it was done, given time to cool and the other bakers got a chance to try what their boss made, there was no doubt that they loved it and could not wait to talk about it with their patrons. Apple pecan bread has officially been approved by the crew, and Roselyn couldn't be anymore excited. The morning rush came and went, and the apple pecan bread is the sweat treat that has been winning people over, especially the kids. Since the business is slowing down after the rush, Roselyn has time to go outside and enjoy some fresh air. It is still a little chilly, but it is still a beautiful day that she should not waste by being indoors all the time.

Another successful day at the bakery for Roselyn and her team. Nothing out of the ordinary for her as she took a look at today's earnings, and they matched what she normally makes on any given day of the week after ensuring that her employees got paid. When it was time to close up shop, she made sure that the fires of the oven were extinguished, the bakery doors locked, and said goodbye to her employees before going home. She is not sure what tomorrow will bring despite the routine of her life at the bakery.

This is not the usual day for Roselyn. She did show up at her bakery, open it for her employees, got to work on the dough and ovens, baked the various goods people typically buy early in the morning, and opened her shop to the public at the designated time she usually opens her bakery. All that was normal. What changed for her is the conversations she tends to have. There were talks among her guest how soldiers are gathering at the docks to greet ships coming. Supposedly high officials of Valor with an army. This is probably the response towards handling the extremist threat that took place during the previous autumn festival. Roselyn remembers how she did her best to save her patrons and employees, but too many perished despite her best efforts. Many of her friends died that day, and she regrets not being able to save them. If these new arrivals are here to protect them, then she can feel a bit safer whenever the next festival begins. Right now she cannot leave the bakery, but she will definitely try to step out to see what is happening outside of her bakery when the busy morning is over.

Roselyn did not get the free time that she hoped she did. It is hard for her to leave the bakery, especially today when she had to go to the market to make some emergency purchases. Fortunately, there were plenty of people talking about the visitors they came to the docks today. Soldiers, guards, high rank military officials from the kingdom of Valor. They are here for reasons that have not been disclosed, although some have speculated that it has to do with the attack on the Autumn festival. Perhaps this is a response to that. Whatever it is, people are getting nervous. Roselyn is part of the crowd who is nervous. Higher military presence could mean better security measures are taking place, but what about the daily routine that shop owners like her have?[ And what of the other non-military folk? How will their lives be affected by this? Uncertainty is what is scaring her right now. All she can do is try to continue on with her typical routine, hoping that this is temporary. She returned to her bakery to finish off the rest of the day before closing up shop and going home.
Although the weather had been warm, a light shower of rain had caught the Diviner just minutes after stepping outside into the Courtyard and how he was quite damp...Perhaps the Weather had turned against him as well? Not really caring for the fact he could easily have turned back and gotten changed, Patrick pulled up the collar to his jacket - exhaling another sigh before setting his course for the Marketplace...
Knowing his troublesome companion would have headed for shelter at the first drop of 'Sky-Water' he at least had a few extra minutes to get a head start before she'd perhaps grace him with her presence - Although by the time he'd actually arrived at the Market District, he was still very much alone, which in turn left him feeling just that little bit worse...
"I'd almost welcome any wayward spirit at this point..." he mumbled quietly to himself, well aware that although many had died on the very streets upon which he was now walking, most if not all of those who had passed had moved on to their next life, or found their place on the other side...and he wouldn't deny them their peace just because he was feeling lonely.
How many times had he sighed that day? The Diviner had drawn a breath to release another dejected exhalation when the smell of something delightful invaded his senses... Of course, the Bakery! It had been a while since he'd visited and although Patrick had met its owner on the streets once or twice following the attack, he'd never actually had the chance to get any closer than the Market Stalls as there had always been something there to divert his attention before he could be led astray by the wonderful scents that hit him now...
Coin was no issue and with the Raven still very much absent, the Diviner saw little reason to ignore an opportunity to try and brighten his mood with a small 'treat' and so he turned towards the Door, pushing it open quietly before stepping inside.
Upon a nearby rooftop, watching as her ginger-haired companion made his way into the Bakery, perched a rather dishevelled looking Corvid... Her feathers grayed and damp - not only from the night outside, but the fact she'd tried to force her way in through a gap in the Academy roof as the unexpected shower had caught her off guard...
What had upset her most had been the fact that Patrick hadn't bothered to open the window to his Dorm room that morning - then he'd completely ignored her attempts at gaining his attention in the Theatre Wing...Perhaps she had gone a little too far this time? Sure, she could have forsaken him completely and flown back across the Great Water - seeking out the Diviner's family and perhaps living with them for a while, but something inside kept her from leaving...

[All is well at the bakery. After all, everyone followed the daily routine as soon as the owner Roselyn opened the doors for the employees, everything from checking the ovens to see if they had to be cleaned or patched up, to presenting the baked goods for patrons to see and grab before bringing it to the counter to purchase. The morning rush at the bakery came and went. Roselyn now has the time to walk around the shop and talk to some guests who were there, making light conversation with them. If she was not talking to her guests, she is helping maintain the shop by moving certain objects back in place or going to the oven room to check on her crew. [The latest person who entered the shop, a boy named Patrick, shall be the latest person that Roselyn will talk to. The moment he entered the shop, she was waiting by the entrance with a smile on her face as she said,
"Hello and welcome to my bakery. Are you here for bread or a different special treat?"
Patrick would lift his gaze as the Owner herself advanced, Rosalyn's cheery approach forced a somewhat pathetic smile of his own and he would nod quietly as she welcomed him to her Bakery before asking if he was there for Bread, or perhaps something a little more special?
"Oh...I think it's high time I treated myself to something Special," His Grandmother had always believed that when you were feeling low, a little treat or two was the best way to start picking yourself back up again - Patrick occasionally liked to sneak over to her Wagon when he'd been having a bad time with his cousins and she would always have something in the way of a sweet treat stashed away that they would share as she let him tell her all about it... He still missed her - having lost track of how long it had been since she'd passed, but he was still confident that she was happy wherever she was now...
Outside, Branwen had lost visual of the male when he'd entered the Bakery and so, after a few minutes of contemplation as to whether or not she was really that concerned over him to want to get any closer, the Scruffy White Raven would take wing, sailing down from the rooftop before coming into land on one of the surrounding barriers outside.
Leaning forward slightly, Branwen would tilt her head, trying her best to look through the window in the hopes she might be able to see him... Sure, there were people moving around inside - the place was naturally going to be busy - but Patrick appeared to have disappeared... She would have tried to get closer, but as the door opened prompting the exit of one of the Bakery's patrons, Branwen would flit away, relocating herself to another point before glancing back towards the building again...
"Something special is something you definitely find here. What are you thinking about having? Cookies? Biscuits? I also have my special of the day. It is called Krapfen, which is dough that I formed into circles, fried it and dusted it with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. You're free to look around for a bit as well."
Roselyn is excited about her special. It was simple to make, especially since she was able to make use of leftover dough to create a unique and sweet treat. If many people like them and buy enough of them, she may consider making that a special at least once a week or bringing them over to the Jolly Inn and Tavern as a gift to Emma and her guests. As other patrons entered the bakery, Roselyn welcomed them into the bakery just like she did with Patrick and allowed them to explore her bakery to find what they are looking for after asking them if they needed any help. They already knew what they wanted, so Roselyn can leave the rest of the work to her staff. She will continue to tend to Patrick personally if he has any questions or responds to any of her suggestions.
Patrick was quite enticed by the sound of biscuits and cookies, but had to ponder if his ears had heard the female correctly when she mentioned about her Special of the day? Krapfen? The name wasn't something he'd heard before - and to any one with a childish mind, the pronounciation may just have earned a snigger on any other day...But he listened to her explanation and nodded quietly, the mix certainly sounded enticing and as one of his Aunts used to say, "If you don't try it, you won't know if you like it..."
"That last one sounds interesting," he would nod - besides if he didn't like the taste, maybe he could hunt down that Shadowmancer and see if he was up to trying it? "I might purchase a small bag of rolled oats if you have any as well," Even though he'd not yet seen Branwen that day, he could at least attempt a peace offering when they next crossed paths...
Speaking of the Devil in question, the Raven had once again moved herself around the building's perimeter in order to get a better view inside... She could definitely see a little better now - having positioned herself just behind the door and technically out of sight of those exiting...but she was still within touching distance of those entering...not that she cared - she would sooner peck at any advancing hands than let someone run their fingers down her feathers... Silently, she watched as someone who looked similar to the Diviner spoke with another just beyond the door - what they were conversing over however was beyond her hearing so she would have to wait until he left...
"Krapfen and some rolled oats? Not a problem. Make your way to the counter when you are ready. I will return shortly with your treats."
Roselyn departed to the back of the bakery to inform her bakers about a special order made by Patrick. One of them prepared an order of krapfen, the typical order of two, while another measured out enough rolled oats to fill a small bag. Since the krapfen is freshly cooked, they are wrapped in the same parchment that they spread cinnamon sugar on for coating the krapfen. As soon as Patrick's order was ready, she carried the krapfen and the bag of rolled oats to the counter where he should be waiting. She wrote down the total amount he has to pay for her own record before telling him what he has to pay.
Nodding, Patrick watched as Roselyn made her way out to the back of the store before advancing towards the counter. The scents wafting around the Bakery were definitely mouth-watering and as the other patrons moved to and fro, making their own purchases and then taking leave of the store, he would stand off to the side - out of the way - taking a moment to count through his coin before lifting his gaze as Roselyn returned, asking if there had been anything else he needed that day,
"I...think that'll be all, thank you." Handing over the coin, he cast a fleeting glance up at the Owner's eyes before taking his goods and bidding her "Goodbye," as he made his way back outside.
Having seen a fair handful of people leave the store, Branwen had started to grow tired of waiting, dropping her gaze to scrape her beak on the perch she'd taken before lifting her eyes as the door opened once more... At first, the Raven had almost ignored the male as he stepped out, exhaling a humanoid sigh before cutting it short as her eyes caught the familiar colour of his hair... Standing straight now, the Not-So-White Raven watched as the Diviner paused to put something in his backpack before continuing on - a smaller bag in his hand...
Ever curious, but not wanting to reveal herself to the male just yet, Branwen would wait until Patrick had walked a fair distance away before taking to the air and following him from above.

No matter how many patrons come to her bakery or how many times she does nearly the same thing over and over again, to see people walk away from her bakery satisfied with what they purchased always gives her a warm feeling. It is good to see people happy with bread and sweets that she and her employees make. With every other patron after Patrick's departure, she treated them with the same friendliness and service that she gave him with help from her team until it was time to close up shop. Once the ovens were off and the bakery locked up for the evening, Roselyn walked her way home to relax and finally get some sleep for she has to get up in the morning to do the same old thing.
The teen was practically running by the time she got to the street the bakery was on, as her stomach rumbled in anticipation of food. She assumed she wasn't one of the first people here since she'd slept in today. Despite the number of times she'd been here, she still liked to peruse the shelves and cases taking in the sights and the smells of everything as well as trying to decide what would benefit her taste buds and body most. She wasn't sure what she'd be getting in to today physically as much as she knew she was hungry now and needed something filling. Her hand subconsciously rested on her stomach as she stared through the glass at a particularly large cinnamon roll.
