Ouch! You had successfully flamed Thread but the gust push the ash back into you as you fly! The hot ash cloud burns as you fly through it, but you're made of tougher stuff than that! The focus is Thread, not pain! [+2 Pain Resilience]
A sudden surge of renewed energy sent blue and rider surging forward all flame and fury. Even pain felt nice after all of the fuss and it wasn't going to slow him down anymore!
As you fly, you find that you're getting into a heavier patch of Thread ahead. You've got a bad feeling about this.... You warn one of your wingmates to let a patch go! Thankfully, they listen, and sure enough, the wind changes! It would have blown the pair right into the patch. As it stands, the wind blows the Thread back, and your wingmate are able to flame it down without injury. [+2 Instinct]
The renewed sense of strength made Hrimnith feel sharp - and Karinne was keenly there with him. Spotting a diving dragon not far from them, Hrimnith called out to them and none too soon, it felt.
But with the clump safely avoided they both relished in burning it down.
You try to flame down some Thread, but your flame comes up short. Whoops! Hopefully your Wingleader didn't see that. Nothing to be done about it now except eat some more firestone, and try to catch the next clump!
They'd been so numb to Hrimnith's melancholy that the sudden flickering of flame was actually a surprise. But only one long enough to have Karinne grabbing for her bag to start feeding him more - hopefully with less tongue biting this time.

Given his size, it wasn't exactly shocking that thread was hitting him left and right, but the large bronze was making certain to keep his small rider from catching any as well. But that was taking quite a bit of focus, which meant all the more damage as clumps flew into him. With so much thread everywhere it was all but impossible to focus on just a small amount.

In defiance, he gave a roar and scorched some of the thread he'd almost missed save for D'ein's warning. The ash burned as it blew into his face but Haezeth didn't care one bit.

A roar, louder than his normal grouchy ones, burst from Haezeth's throat as he came from between into a sheet that seared into him on contact. Everything hurt, everything burned. With a quick image and a fast leap, the bronze managed to crack the living thread from himself but everything hurt, everything ached.

The winds weren't giving up but they were throwing more and more thread at the pair of them. We have to go back down! We have to go to the healers! There was no way that either of them could take much more and with Haezeth already aching in pain D'ein wouldn't risk their lives for the bronze's bravado.

You can't get worn out already Sarbath! Maybe it really... maybe it was too much? She wasn't a small green by any means but she wasn't huge for a dragon being her color. As she was blown from formation, thread tangling with her long tail, the green made the leap between and came back utterly exhausted. For once, she had nothing to respond with.

Thread was burning and falling and ash was raining down on her, but Sarbath didn't seem to mind so much in that moment. Nothing seemed to bother her so much as keeping herself and her boy aloft.

Still nothing, still just a fog of thread and danger. Still just the two of them fighting to stay in formation. The fun she'd had earlier was gone, though Liaven might have argued that was for the best.

While some life seemed to be coming back into her, there was still a weariness that was in her bones. Halfway through? Maybe. Liaven didn't have time to really focus on anything other than his direct surroundings and the orders from his wing leaders and seconds.

Once again they were sent, this time head over tail just as she had been starting to perk back up from her exhaustion and strain of keeping flight. Sarbath went head over tail and Liaven, concerned and in that moment somewhat panicked for what state she might have been in with all the damage she'd just taken, issued a command for the Bowl. Let the healers look at her, let them see if they could help her exhaustion so they could get back up for the change in levels.

As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formation! If 36'-46', you're able to fight the wind with relative ease. Unfortunately, the nearby Threadfall gets blown into your side and haunches -- and you were too big to move out of the way. Ouch! Moderate Damage -8 HP
Still aching from the last direct strike of Thread, Huarangith and R'bin had to work to keep their place in formation as the wind once more rose, buffeting them. Huarangith's wing and his hide jacket had largely protected R'bin from the worst of the thread, but the next gust of wind struck hard, flinging more Thread toward them and scoring Huarangith's side, extending the wound the brown was already nursing down his side toward his haunches.
Once more the pair fled between, seeking easement and hoping to kill the Thread before it could burrow into Huarangith's body and wreak real damage. Right now the brown was in all kinds of pain, and there was definitely some damage done, but when R'bin asked, Huarangith assured him that they did not need to seek healing yet. R'bin was forced to accept the dragon's assessment, but he was looking forward to dropping to a middle altitude for the next portion of Fall. In the back of his mind, he sensed Huarangith's agreement.

You mange to pull off a quick save with some fancy wing-work! Instead of getting hit by some stray strands, you're able to roll out of harm's way! While you weren't able to catch it, you're certain one of your wingmates will.
As they came to the end of their first hour, Huarangith and R'bin were both feeling pretty battered, the dragon more so than the human, although R'bin was not completely unscathed. R'bin's good health owed largely to Huarangith working his tail off to keep him shielded from the silver menace, even if doing so meant taking the Threadscore instead.
We're almost done with this set, R'bin observed, unconcealed relief coloring his mental voice.
I'm glad, Huarangith admitted.
The high altitude flights were always the most dangerous, and though he knew that they would be up here again for the last hour of Fall, the idea of being able to drop down and let another wing bear the brunt of Thread's fall for the next two hours was incredibly appealing. Obviously, Thread still got through the first line of defenders, and even with decent coverage, dragon flame couldn't be everywhere at once, but it was safer to be lower. That was why the queens and whites flew at the lowest altitudes.
Conversation between the pair ceased as the ruddy brown dragon tucked his wings and rolled out of the way of some Thread, calling a warning to the rider pair on their other side, who was now in its path.
